March 5, 2021 - Let's take a look at the last 24-hour's top gainers!
NFTs have been dominating all week, but they've lost some steam as we head into the weekend. ZKSwap (ZKS) and Stacks (STX) move into the top-gainer spots, while Chiliz (CHZ) falls to number four. The top-gainer for most of the week, Enjin Coin (ENJ), is seeing a small correction.
ZKSwap's growth is likely caused by three things. Earlier this week, they announced their roadmap on Medium. They also did a $1.2 million airdrop to liquidity providers on Uniswap. Finally, they are launching a "proof-of-liquidity mining campaign" tomorrow, which includes long-term incentives for liquidity providers.
Stacks has shown steady growth over the past month. There was a big spike in February following the announcement that STX holders can earn BTC by staking STX in their Stacks wallet. Since that initial spike, the trend has moved mostly horizontally until this week, where the uptrend has continued. I couldn't find any news to explain the jump--please let me know if I missed something.
Chiliz lost a step from what it did yesterday but still managed to add 17%. Other NFT darlings Flow & Decentraland also grew more modestly at 3% and 2% respectively. Enjin Coin took a step back and lost 10%. It's still up 99% in the past 7d, though, so don't feel too bad.
Sneaking into third position is Theta Fuel (TFUEL). I actually didn't know what TFUEL was and had to do research. Theta.tv is a streaming platform, similar to Twitch. Do you know what's cool about it, though? You earn TFUEL by watching. Nice, right? I watched it for an hour last night, and it was okay. If you're into Fortnite or some of the other games they stream, this might be for you. I'll throw a referral link down at the bottom if you're curious and want to sign up.
And finally, rounding out the top 5 is IOTA (MIOTA). Cointelegraph reports that IOTA announced yesterday it has "released a more stable iteration of its smart contracts platform, which was previously in the pre-alpha stage." So this is another project that's hitting a milestone on its roadmap to solve the high-fees and poor-scalability problems of Ethereum, similar to Cardano, Polkadot, Cosmos, and others.
