Hey there, reader! You strike me as someone who probably likes getting free crypto.

I mean, that's the cool thing about sites like cash.read, right? You earn crypto just by being here and participating! Sure, it's not a lot, but over time, little by little, it grows. If every small thing you did earned you a few cents, the dollars would add up quickly as days go by.

There are two tiny, easy actions you can take to start earning those few cents per day doing a thing we all do a lot of every day: browsing the web!

The first thing is to use the Brave browser. Brave is pretty cool, even without the rewards. It has a built-in ad blocker and puts a lot of emphasis on privacy. So, it's a little ironic that what makes it special is that it comes with an option to serve you moreĀ ads.

There's a twist with Brave Rewards, though: they pay you for viewing their ads! Brave launched the Basic Attention Token (BAT) in 2017, and they use these tokens to pay advertisers, content providers, and you--the end-user. In the past 2 weeks, I've earned about 3.5 BAT from using Brave as my default desktop and phone browser. Each BAT is worth about $0.42 at the moment, so it equates to about $0.15 per day. (This is my work computer, so I'm only counting the weekdays.)

Okay, cool--we all use web browsers, so this makes sense. And what do we the most with web browsers? Search. Wouldn't it be cool if we could get paid a few cents for using Google or DuckDuckGo?

Hold on to your pants, folks, because that's exactly what Presearch is trying to do. With Presearch, you can earn 0.25 PRE tokens with each search. A single PRE token is valued at nearly $0.08, which means you're scoring 2 cents per search! To get started, sign up at Presearch.org. They'll even grant you 25 PRE just for joining!

Presearch is actually pretty cool to use, too, because you can basically make a toolbar of the different places you search. For example, I use IMDB a lot when watching TV shows or movies when I see someone I recognize but can't place them. I can pop open a new tab, have it default to presearch.org, and click the IMDB button to get right to where I'm going!

Neither of these little tricks is going to make you rich. Combine 'em, and it's an extra quarter per day, which turns into a couple of extra bucks a month. Wisely invested or held, they could turn into more, just for doing the same things you're doing anyway.

So much for security. Brave leaked data to ISPs or have you read about that? And they don't pay in crypto. You can make more money picking u coinds on the street or beach.

Brave Ads pays you in BAT. The data leak was from Tor, their private mode. I don't think it's any different than what you get using Incognito mode in Chrome--it just breaks one of the promises of Tor.

I've not done deep research on the topic and could be mistaken, but I think it's unfair to say "so much for security" and cast them aside.
