There is an African proverbs which says "Whatever the elders say is correct and will get to pass". Its always a norm that we listen to whatever the elder say especially if they are old because they are matured enough to give an advise to the young generation.

How ever there is a huge difference between being Mature and Being Old. Always remember that even fools get old, so you might get a foolish advise from an immature old man/lady. So when getting advise from our old elders you have to be selective and act like someone who is eating fish. There are some who are matured enough but at some point they can make a mistakes like any other human, so its wise to carefully analyze the advises you are given so that you remain with the best only.

The upbringing of a child determines were his life is heading. If a child is raised well then when he grows up he will grow to be a grown mature old man. Even the bible says you should start teaching your children's whilst they are still young so that when they grow old they will be able to apply what they were taught whilst they were still young.

This current world we are living in is heavily infested with too much crime and thuggery and young kids gets involved at a tender age. Have you ever imagined were those kids will be in the next 50-60 years? They are gonna be old and about 55-65% of them are likely to be immature old man and do you think they are gonna be able to dish out a wise advise to the you generation which is gonna come after them? The chances are slim unless they don't get involved or unless they are gonna be speaking from what they experienced.

Unless they will learn from their experience and get matured. You know, parents are not perfect, they may even give awful advises to thier children too. Its the experience that twaches us, thus one should weigh the risk of doing so
