Social stratification both inflict positive and negative impression. there is a need for classifying upper class, middle class and lower class in order to know the statuses of citizens. it could also help address shortcomings or overcoming of people in each classes. however on the other hand it poses negative connotations as it gives labels to the statuses of citizens. it would give off the impression that people are separated by their statuses.
