The Paper was invented on the 2nd century by Han Dynasty. Before, sailors depended on landmarks and stars to navigate ships led to the invention of compass by the Chinese on the 9th and 11th centuries which improved the navigation courses and are widely used today. Refrigeration on the other hand changed the way of food industry, saving food products from rapid deterioration, it was developed during the mid-1700s.
The principle of the Printing Press was perfected and popularized by Johannes Gutenberg. He created the machine that printed text on a wide scale which spurred the Reformation, the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution. Plumbing was also one of the significant developments over the years, as proper passageways of water wastes from homes are crucial to sanitation. Another was the discovery of penicillin by Alexander Fleming which paved the way of medicine popularization. Penicillin was one of the first group of drugs that fought illnesses. Birth control pills and contraceptive were introduced to the public in the 1960s helped level out global population.
As people start to reach new heights towards further modernization, engines were developed. People traveled across countryside via Thomas Newcomen steam engine as of 1712 developed and developed by James Watt later that century.
