Delegating Intelligence
What if we could delegate intelligence to fellow humans or say, any other things?
This insane idea just landed on my mind while looking for ideas to write today. Although we are doing this subconsciously from the inception of our race, how about an organised delegation?
It might be fun seeing others influencing society or even their personal life with your delegated intelligence. Can’t say about yours, but I can feel the thrill already.
Anyway, about the subconscious delegation, when we are born, our parents begin delegating their intelligence that shapes our childhood and even take care of our entire life. There are some talented individuals, blessed in my opinion, they even surpass the intelligence delegated by their parents and become the idol of thousands. Also, we, the mass people, are continuously delegating the intelligence we have, no matter how insignificant or overloaded— we are doing it by guiding our younger siblings or say, letting the new hive users know how to deal with issues. But that’s all happening in a subconscious process and we don’t even consider this as delegation. That’s why I proposed an organised delegation system where there could be some bookkeeping for easier navigation and withdrawal of our intelligence when we run short of it. Kind of hilarious, right?
Now, let’s assume you have delegated a portion of your intelligence to someone else. You have plenty of it, so why not? The interesting part is, that people are doing good with your intelligence, lecturing here and there or inventing outstanding innovations. Everything is going normal, but one day, you feel you won’t be delegating your possession anymore to a specific individual. And suddenly, you withdraw it, leaving the man with his possession. Suppose he was lecturing in a class, and with your intelligence removed during the class, half of his teaching tricks and knowledge have vanished just like this.
Suddenly he is out of this smartness; his tongue doesn’t produce any word of wisdom, no knowledge sharing from the moment on can you imagine it?
I am leaving this for you to assume what the situation will turn out to be how pathetic or hilarious this awkward situation could bring to the person involved.
However, delegated or not, we all have faced the same situation even once in our life. Especially when we are copying our friends in the exam hall and the teacher removes them from the bench understanding our intention. Or when we get caught in the process and it feels like we are stripped of our capability of writing and what’s left for that moment is nothing but biting the pen or pretending to remember the answers looking at the ceiling like the knowledge is descending on us from heaven.
You know the adage, when you want something done, ask a busy person. It's so true. Having kids taught me to prioritize, delegate, and accept life's imperfections. I also learned the all-important skill of jumping off the train: taking breaks in career and passion pursuits to tend to the things that last.
