Weekly Development Updates for D.BUZZ - Today:

Welcome to Tuesday.

If you joined us in VR for our presentation last Sunday, you would have seen that we have started development for the v4, which is a redesign of D.Buzz .

We anticipate that the process will take about six weeks, bringing us close to Q1 2022. As our bug checking and development goes, we anticipate this new version to be production ready by the middle of the first quarter next year.

What will be new with v4?

  • ReactJS

Underlying code architecture will be changing, upgrading from ReactJS to NextJS. With this alone, we will see a sizable increase in the page load speed of D.Buzz. When React JS came along, it was a perfect fit since we were already using JavaScript for the front end. NextJS is a ReactJS framework, however geared towards developing single-page Javascript applications, something that D.Buzz is.

  • Server-Side Rendering (SSR)

When we implement SSR, rendering of content happens on the server side and not the client's side, this means the user will receive an HTML page - nothing else is needed from them in order for them to use and interact with that page.

This also decreases development time, as everything that is developed on the server will be delivered as-is to the client. Along with this, SSR provides enhanced SEO abilities to allow content to be indexed better by engines.

  • Automatic code splitting

This will automatically allow code that is not needed, such as CSS and JavaScript, not be downloaded until it is needed, greatly reducing the download requirements and the rendering speed.

  • Hot Module Replacement (HMR)

This will help reduce development time as we will build to see the changes live as we are developing them. We anticipate this will reduce the number of bugs that sneak through, and allow us to more rapidly prototype and design features that fit within the architecture of the software.

  • Refactor the D.Buzz Architecture .

We will reevaluate the node package towards implementing the latest/best practices on web development.

We are currently researching ways to implement the following:

  • The SPK Network

The SPK network brings a lot of advantages to the playing field. We are currently researching ways to implement this package and how it can be used most efficiently on D.Buzz V4.

  • The Hive Authentication Services (HAS)

To streamline the user experience, services such as HAS will be important to implement. This will increase security and decrease the stresses of trying to login.

  • Non-fungible tokens (NFTs)

We are researching unique and exciting ways to implement the buying, selling, and trading of digital assets such as NFTs.

  • Additional ways for content creators to earn

We are also researching and dreaming of different ways that a content creator can earn not just HBD/HIVE from posting, but other ways to create additional value for the ecosystem, as well as for themselves.

We want to hear from you!

As we are still in the dreaming phase but moving toward production, we have the flexibility to adopt any new ideas.

If you have an idea or feature suggestion -, perhaps an underlying piece of technology we should make use of, feel free to message us on Ddiscord and let us know. We arewould be excited to hear your thoughts.

Stay tuned for more updates as development progresses forward.
