Weekly Development Updates for D.BUZZ - Today: 20+ Fixes and updates!
Hey there!
We’ve been hard at work on a lot of new additions to D.BUZZ and we are happy to share them with you!
We separated this update post into updates from last week and new updates for this week. The new updates will be getting pushed out either today or later this week.
Before we jump into the exciting updates, we just wanted to take a second and apologize for the recent downtime of D.BUZZ. These recent downtimes were due to updates we were making to the backend of the app. Our aim is always to reduce downtime, however, sometimes it just has to happen. With the new updates in place there "should be" less downtime moving forward. Thank you for understanding.
Please Note : The updates below are specifically for Next.D.Buzz. We are currently testing and troubleshooting these updates, when they have reached a level of stability, we’ll release these updates to mainnet, D.BUZZ. Tentatively We are planning before the end of the week to do so, "tentatively" being the key word.
Last week's updates for (Next.D.Buzz):
- Version : 3.21.0-dev (Next.D.Buzz)
Changes:
Add DBuzz Threads Feature
Fixes & Improvements:
Other minor UI / Bug fixes and improvements
- Version : 3.21.1-dev (Next.D.Buzz)
Bug Fixes
Fixed Initial Image upload bug (image does not upload correctly on the first buzz).
Fixed Emoji placement bug (when adding an emoji in a new buzz thread, it copies the previous state as well).
Fixed Max-Accepted Payout bug (it's appending its value to buzz content)
Fixed Threads not posting in the right order (comments on the thread should be posted in ascending order).
Fixed Buzz empty buzzes (buzzes with no comments should be skipped automatically).
Additional Improvements (Next.D.Buzz)
Implement page reload after publishing the buzz/thread so all the comments appear correctly.
This week's updates: (Next.D.Buzz)
The release this week is explicitly focused on bug fixes. The goal is to keep making the platform more stable for bigger development.
- Version : 3.21.2-dev (Next.D.Buzz)
Fixed Bugs & Issues (Next.D.Buzz)
Copy-pasting posting key with extra spaces before or after it onto login form because of a login error with incorrect key (where the extra spaces should automatically be removed).
Typing a username that does not exist on Hive (or with spaces before or after it) on the login form and, trying to log in will not push through and will just display a loading animation indefinitely.
Clicking the heart (upvote) button while looking at posts with a specific tag does not do anything.
Editing posts or comments (not writing a new one) does not show how many characters are left before reaching the 280-character limit.
The 3 links (which includes images and videos) are not counted towards the 280-character limit only on the feed and user profile, not when viewing the buzz (and its comments).
Overlapping text after clicking the "Latest" button when there are new buzzes.
A blank section is shown when viewing a post or comment that has been deleted.
The "Tip" option when viewing your own Buzz is visible.
Meta Info not showing when the buzz is shared (DBuzz links should show meta info and image when shared to other platforms).
Change order for comments to descending.
Add the view more replies button to view replies on the comments.
Lastly, The dev team is hard at work tracking down some additional bugs. Were are aiming to have a few more bugs squashed and features added by the end of the week in addition to the above already done.
Summary :
To pave the way for new greater features, we have to clean up some of the smaller bugs that have been lurking for a while. The last two weeks were focused on bug squishing and updates to make the platform stronger and more user-friendly. These updates are pushed to the mainnet tentatively before the week but might be able to longer. In addition, other bugs will be addressed and features added by the end of the week as well.
Thanks for joining us on this adventure!
