Updates on DBUZZ!

Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!

After a brief break, development on our platform has resumed. We are excited to continue working on our cutting-edge technology and expanding our offerings. Our team is committed to providing the best possible experience for our users. We thank you for your patience and continued support.

We should clarify however that it was not so much "a break", but more of a refocusing of development talent for a few weeks. There is an EPIC project we are working on that is being prepared for release; we needed to add more devs to that for a few weeks, but we are back! More on that project in another post. :)

To kick off this development update, let's talk about image upload issues. There were a few people reporting issues with this, but after looking, it may have just been an IPFS issue and not an issue with DBuzz. As of the writing of this post, images (*at least from our side) are uploaded as usual.

Next, let's talk about videos.

There's no denying that people love to watch and share videos. In fact, video is one of the most popular types of content on the internet, and it's only getting more popular. Thanks to social media, people can share videos with their friends and followers with the click of a button. We understand this and love videos too!

This week, we wanted to clean up some of the code with the embed feature to ensure that videos are playing well and clean. This week, we fixed embed issues with many different video sites, including YouTube and YouTube mobile!

Let's talk about Pockets.

This unique feature allows you to organize and share collections of buzzes in a simple way. It's very useful for all those who like to keep their favorite buzzes together or organize the way they share stories.

This week, we looked at one bug that caused this feature to crash on occasion. Yikes, we know. Rest assured, we fixed that this week, and it's now functioning as intended again.

Other bugs fixed

Web page menus are essential because they provide users with a way to navigate the site. Having clear and concise menus allows users to quickly find the information they are looking for without getting lost. DBuzz was experiencing an edge case where the menu would cause the site to crash. This was a very strange bug, but now it's addressed and the menus are smooth again.

Lately, for this week, we also noticed that depending on how you entered the text, the character counter would not count the characters. :( Frustrating, Yes. This week, we took a deeper dive into that, and now, that counter counts like an accountant in an audit.

Here are the full release notes on the testnet Next.D.Buzz.

What we are looking at fixing next

Blog.D.Buzz is our longform frontend for D.Buzz. As we focused on D.Buzz and the other secret larger project, Blog.D.Buzz has not gotten too much attention. We want to change that. This week, we will look at ways to speed up that platform.

Hive.Pm was one of the other projects we had developed. It was a chat platform for Hive that used memos and memo tags, so 100% on-chain chat! Yes, super cool! But due to issues with time and resources, this was put on hold. This, however, is another project we are cleaning up and getting ready to push back out to you all. Woot!

Thank you for following our development notes. We aim to bring you great things throughout our continued development and updates. We appreciate your interest in our work, and we hope that you continue to follow us for more great things to come!

Ongoing development thanks and shoutout!

Much love to the entire @threespeak team for their help with the LITE platform - @vaultec and the whole crew are fantastic. They have been integral in the LITE framework development.
