What's buzzing, friends!
First and foremost, happy Halloween! We hope you all stay safe out there tonight as you go trick-or-treating, and remember to check your candy when you bring it home. Safety first!
Here are some great Halloween safety tips from the Mayo Clinic SAFETY.
One thing about Halloween is that a lot of people use blood. Most of the time it's fake blood... most of the time haha. Today, our weekly, interestingly strange, amazing and peculiar, factoid and/or story is about “The Man with the Golden Arm”.
The real name of “The Man with the Golden Arm”“ is James Harrison, and he comes from Australia. But what did he do to earn the globally recognized title of “The Man with the Golden Arm”.? Well, he simply donated blood. But not just any blood, James has unusual plasma, and that plasma has been used to cure Rhesus disease (Rhesus or Rh disease is a type of hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn. Wikipedia).
What is even more amazing, is that James has donated blood over 1,100 times. And you know how many babies he saved through his donation? It's estimated to be about 2.5 million children, who would otherwise have contracted Rh or died, James saved by donating blood. WOW!

So tonight while you're out tricking and/or treating, and you see someone covered in blood, tell them the story of James and how they should donate the blood instead!
