Pizza reigns as the ultimate comfort food and the most addictive cuisine worldwide, according to a 2016 study conducted by the University of Michigan. The survey found that people crave pizza more than any other dish, with chocolate and potato chips coming in as close runners-up. Even with toppings like pineapples (controversial, we know), people can't get enough of the combination of a crispy crust, delicious sauce, and mouth-watering toppings. Source

However, not all foods are created equal. The same study showed that cucumbers, carrots, and beans are the least addictive foods. That's right - even water is more likely to result in addictive behavior than these unassuming veggies.

So, if you find yourself dreaming of gooey, melted cheese, savory meats, and delicious vegetables piled on a crispy, chewy crust, you're not alone. Pizza addiction is real, and it's pervasive across the globe.
