What's buzzing, friends?
Happy New Year! After last night's wild celebrations, it's time to face the dreaded hangover and think of ways to cure it. Of course, the standard remedies of plenty of water, ibuprofen, and a greasy breakfast are all typically go-tos. However, why not try something a little more creative this time around?
If you don't have the courage to eat something, a hot shower might do the trick. The steam and hot water can help open up your pores, allowing your body to release toxins. Additionally, herbal teas may help to soothe an upset stomach. Chamomile, ginger, and peppermint teas are all good options.
From a steaming bowl of kimchi in South Korea to a hearty plate of huevos rancheros in Mexico, there are countless strange and sometimes bizarre hangover cures around the world. In Russia, they swear by a hair of the dog and a shot of vodka, while in Ireland, they swear by a good fry up of bacon and eggs. In Japan, they opt for a greasy bowl of ramen, while in Thailand, they turn to a spicy and sour bowl of tom yum soup. In Scandinavia, they reach for a pickle or a soured herring, while in Portugal, a cup of coffee with a spoonful of olive oil is said to be the ultimate hangover cure. Today, let’s look at a few other cures people swear by!
In Peru, they swear the "Leche de Tigre" or "Tiger’s Milk" will do the trick to set you right. This is a mix of fish and marinade for ceviche. In Japan, they recommend you take an Umeboshi plum. This plum was a trick samurai used to stay focused and to fix the morning hangover! If you were in South Korea, you would stumble out to get some Haejangguk, a word that translates to "soup to get sober" - in it is a mix of oxtail and coagulated blood, amongst other things.
Whatever your cure is for a hangover, one thing works wonders: getting caught up with the post from DBuzz by scrolling down the page a little bit more. The best part - no strange foods are required. :)
Just a hot shower to get going - that's all I need.
