What's buzzing, friends?
Sometimes it is not all about money; the meaning of something is more important. We must remember what things are truly important in life and not get caught up in the materialistic things that we think will make us happy. Money can't buy happiness, and it can't buy love. The things that are most important in life are the things that money can't buy.
Take, for example, the story of Martin Luther King (MLK) Original copy of the speech "I had a Dream Speach."
The day MLK gave his famous I had a dream speech, a young George Raveling volunteered to be a security guard. He was moved by the speech and asked MLK if he could have the original typewritten manuscript of the speech MLK used. At the time, it was just a few sheets of paper, and MLK gave it to him.
This manuscript, however, inspired millions, it was the turning point in the fight for freedom, and the paper, the original manuscript, became valuable. How valuable? George Raveling, the volunteered security guard, has been offered over $3 million for that manuscript a few times. Each time, he refused.
For him, it's not about the money, it's about the meaning and the power of the words. In 2021, he loaned it to Villanova University. You can read more about this story HERE.
It's not always about the money; sometimes, the meaning of something is more important.
