Physical Health and Platform Health, linked?
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
It's that time of year again when the air starts to chill and the leaves start to fall - and it also seems like a lot of people start to catch a cold. You can feel it in the air, a certain sense of doom, as the cold and flu season rears its ugly head once more. Everywhere you turn, someone is sneezing, coughing, or just generally feeling under the weather. It's almost like we're all hunkered down in a bunker waiting for the virus storm to pass. The DBuzz staff is not immune to this downturn in health.
Our lead developer was greatly missed during his absence from the office last week, leaving a void in the development of our DBuzz platform. The team had been chipping away at the project for months, squishing bugs, and the progress made over that period had been substantial, but the unfortunate onset of illness set us back. We had to make do with the resources at our disposal and the talents of the developers that were still able to work, but it was difficult to make up the ground we had lost and replicate our lead developer's efficiency. He returned late last week, and we completed a few more tasks before our Tuesday update today.
This week, we removed the Share to Messenger feature for mobile devices as it was causing a few issues and was not working correctly. We will add that back when we start working on the V4 framework, as it will be a more flexible codebase and we can adjust for mobile development with better efficiency.
Speaking of getting over the health bug, we also got over a few other development bugs! Some of the big ones were the embeds from Ecency. Now, when you embed Ecency posts, they should display correctly.
Several other bugs that were addressed were minor, such as the DBuzz logo placement on mobile devices. Another one is that the wallet page sometimes did not load, but that should be an issue in the past with this week's rollout to the testnet, Next.D.Buzz. We will test these for a week or two on the testnet, then deploy them to the leading site D.Buzz.
At least this week, physical health and removing bugs from our platform seem closely linked. Just as we need to take care of our bodies to remain healthy and strong, so too do we need to take care of our platform to keep it functioning optimally. We can maintain a healthy and reliable platform by monitoring the platform for bugs and glitches, and removing them when they occur. Taking care of our platform is just as important for our success as taking care of our physical health - both are essential for overall well-being! Lol.
Let's look forward to a new week of fewer bugs and more vital overall health.
Below is the list of updates and platform version numbers. Enjoy, and see you next Tuesday!
