First Steps towards D.Buzz Lite and crushing bugs.
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
When it comes to making your future happen, you have to see the future you want. In order to create the future you desire, you must first have a clear vision of what you want. You must be able to see yourself living the life you want and be passionate about making it happen. You have to be willing to take risks and make sacrifices to reach your goals. Most importantly, you have to believe in yourself and your ability to create the future you desire.
The team here at D.Buzz has a solid vision of the future and what we want it to look like. We see a decentralized platform that is integrated across many chains, providing you with redundancy, security, and income- earning potential. We see a thriving community interacting with each other and sharing stories, dreams, ideas, and more. A place where you can not only just post and comment... but a place where you can thrive, grow, and feature your passion, then present it to the world in the way that fits you best.
While we are still working towards this future, we have made some solid progress towards it. Today, we are excited to say that we are taking the first few steps to making a D.Buzz Lite version.
What is D.Buzz Lite?
In a nutshell, D.Buzz lite will be a version of D.Buzz, wherein you do not need a Hive account to use the platform. The idea is that you can log in with Metamask, along with the current login methods.
If you don't have a Hive account or a linked Hive account on Metamask, and post, the content will be stored on a Distributed Database. If you do have a Hive account or linked Hive account, your content will be posted to Hive and to the Distributed Database.
On the D.Buzz frontend, we will be pulling from the Distributed Database, so all content will be seen. On the Hive community that is for D.Buzz, only the Hive account posts will be seen.
This will be the first step to providing a more open platform for speech, along with being a starting point for the D.Buzz Lite platform. From this, so many other features and innovations can be achieved, such as the ability to post to multiple social media chains, sending tokens and so much more.
Please note that we are 100% committed to Hive and this blockchain. We feel this is a good direction to also start to onboard additional people to Hive.
Collaboration with the @spknetwork Team
We are working closely with the @spknetwork team in developing Ceramic account integrations into D.Buzz. This collaboration is what we hope will be the first of many, as both SPK and D.Buzz work to bring a more decentralized future to everyone. It is a great collaboration.
We will have more about this collaboration and what it all entails in another post, but for now, we were just too thrilled not to share everything about it.

That platform and what they are developing will be the groundwork for the future of Web 3.0.
Updates this week
This week, the development team tracked down additional bugs. A few related to HAS (Hive Authentication Services) integration, such as QR code, countdown issues and a few things about usability. Bug fixing is ongoing at the moment. We have a few more bug fixes we will be rolling out soon.
We also have stabilized the Pocket feature and added a standard thumbnail to all videos. The Thumbnail will be more of a visual cue to viewers on other front ends, so that when you try to view a post made on D.Buzz with an uploaded video by a D.Buzz user while you are using another Hive frontend, you will see a thumbnail directing you to view that video on D.Buzz. This will help with making posts look better and improving clickthrough rate.
In the future, we will swap that thumbnail out for a screen grab of the video or an image the user uploads.
