D.Buzz and Blog.D.Buzz Updates
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
Exciting news! We have made significant progress in squashing bugs for this version of DBuzz (3.x) and are getting close to the end of our bug list. We are confident that we will be able to release a high-quality and stable product that our users will be happy with. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to make DBuzz the best it can be.
Over the last three years, DBuzz has undergone significant changes, from the V1 we rolled out in 2019, the second refactoring version in 2020, to the Version 3 in 2021 that our users enjoy today! As we get close to the end of this version cycle, you can rest assured that we have some significant ideas lined up for 4.0 when it comes.
More about version 4 in another post. Today, let's talk about what was updated.
Some users experienced an edge case with their wallet page needing to be fixed as intended. While it was a minor issue, it was still an issue. This week, we patched that bug, and we believe that this wallet page not working as intended should be resolved. However, if not, let us know on Discord.
Along with the wallet page, we had a minor issue with the HBD interest rate needing to reflect what it should. Again, while it was not a mission-critical bug, it is still lovely to see the proper interest rate now!
Several weeks ago, we released an NSFW filter feature for DBuzz. While we did test it in-house and on our testing server Next.D.Buzz, there were a few cases of it needing to be fixed. This week, we finished cleaning up that code, which now works as intended.
Lastly, another minor bug causing users issues this week was when they added a "." after a word with a hashtag. The hashtag would be read with the ".". Lol, sometimes, these bugs get silly. We had too much of that silliness and fixed this bug. You can #now enjoy hashtags without changing how you type your #buzz.
Blog.D.Buzz
Blog.D.Buzz is the long-form version of D.Buzz. It does make us sad that we need more resources to develop that platform further at the moment, as it has so much potential.
This week, we allocated some of the production time to address a few issues - namely removing the commenting and posting from Blog.D.Buzz. As we have yet to have time to fix outstanding bugs and issues on it, we opted to remove commenting and posting for the time being as we work to make these features function as intended.
We also used the tricks and code from DBuzz on Blog.D.Buzz to increase its loading speed. We hope to keep rolling out minor fixes to this platform moving forward to get it back up to speed, providing Hive users with another choice of frontend.
Minor outage this week
On Saturday, we had some downtime on DBuzz. It lasted only for a few hours, but we got it up and running again. The outage was due to our backend going down, which is why our client-side website couldn’t connect to the backend and was stuck on the loading page.
The fix for this would be redundancy of servers, but this time, it is not an option for us. Please understand when we have little downtime incidents like this. We are also working on other solutions to address this in the future.
Below, you will find the list of updates we discussed. Should you have any questions, reach out to us on Discord and let us know. :)
