D.Buzz - POCKETS are coming soon and more!
Hello D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
What is a pocket?
A pocket is a small bag-like article of clothing that is attached to or hangs from the front or side of a garment and is used to carry small articles, such as a handkerchief, pen, or some coins. If we did not have pockets, where would we put our phones, notes, coins and keys? In our hands? Surely not! That would just be awkward. Pockets are a necessary part of human life.
The same goes for social media. Here on D.Buzz, you make many epic posts every day. Posts about your goldfish, the meal you had, how your garden is going, sun sets... wouldn't it be great if you had a place to group things together? Like a pocket to put all the posts about your goldfish in, a pocket to keep those sunsetSun set photos. What about a pocket to store food posts you find in and around Hive? Or a pocket to put all the amazing art your friends post? Well, soon you can, on D.Buzz!
Meet the new D.Buzz Pocket feature!
A "Pocket" will be a way to store any buzz that you or someone else made on D.Buzz in one location. You can share that "pocket" with the world, add or remove buzzes from it, and more.
We see a lot of buzzes every day. We understand you perhaps want to link all your Food Buzzes, pet posts, and all the posts about a topic you are passionate about together in one place. With Pockets, you can. Then share that pocket with others to show them only the posts related to that topic.
Example: Let's say you are an artist, but you also like to talk about crypto. Nice! But you don't want to send people who just want to see your art to your main feed, as it will be a mix of crypto talk and art. Solution: Pockets! You could put all your art buzzes in one pocket. Then, when you are talking to someone about your art, you can just send that link to your art pocket. They see what they want, and will help you better express yourself.
There are many uses for pockets, and they will be part of other bigger features we are working on here at D.Buzz! We will talk more about pockets when they are released on our test net, SOON!
Video thumbnail integration on other frontends!
We have been hard at work developing this final part of the 60-second video feature. When we roll this out, (*we hope this week or early next), a thumbnail will be generated of your video on upload. Other front ends will display that thumbnail, and on D.buzz, we will swap that out for the video.
Progress on Hive Authentication Services (HAS)
We still seem to be hitting a bug with development, namely an issue with the notification feature... The rest of the code is complete.
The bug is the (Hive Authentication Client) runs on RXJS, and we are using Redux. What we can observe is that when a user requests authentication via HAC using Hive Keychain, it returns undefined during the Hive Keychain confirmation process.. An error is shown on the notifications since the immediate returned value is undefined.
We are talking with other devs about how to fix this.
