Cumulative Update to the Mainnet and What's Next!
Cumulative update to the mainnet and what's next!
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
Wow, it's been a busy few months for the team here at DBuzz! We've been working hard on a cumulative update to the main net, and we're finally ready to share it with the world.
As a reminder, all the new features are live on our testing site Next.D.Buzz. We push them to that server to make sure they work, and to get them battle-tested with the community. After a set length of time, when we feel reasonably confident the new feature or developments will not break D.Buzz, we push those updates to our primary platform, D.Buzz.
It's been about 3 months since we did our last cumulative push on the main net so this update will be BIG!
Here's a quick rundown of what will be new on the new robust main D.Buzz website shortly:
SPEED! Faster loading and processing times!
Metamask Login for the mainnet!
More stable experience and processing!
Many ease-of-use updates!
Code changes to Pockets and so much more!
We're really excited about these changes, as it brings us so much closer to a bug-free D.Buzz, and we think you will be excited too. We'll be rolling out the update in the next few days, so keep an eye out for it. In the meantime, we'll be busy working on the next phase of our development plan, which we will discuss further in this article.
Before we get to what we are working on next, we also rolled out a few new updates to the testnet (Next.D.Buzz) this week.
Here are those updates.
Improvements
Removed switch account feature for Metamask logins
Bug Fixes
Fixed "Remove from Pocket" feature to show the current Pocket name
Fixed profile icon disappearing issue
Fixed Metamask desktop profile picture and cover photo uploads
Fixed broken link bug
Fixed other minor bugs to make DBuzz even better
Stay tuned for more updates!
What is next for D.Buzz
If you have read this far, we will drop a minor hit. We have had a shadow team working for the last few months now on a rather large project. Not 100% D.Buzz related, but for Hive, and that is AWESOME! But, that surprise will be announced in due time.
It should be no surprise to learn that we have been adding to and changing our code base for about two years now. Some code we had to change, some of it is not used anymore, and some of it is based on older code.
While it functions, we have learned much about Hive, social media, and how to write efficient code. The next major undertaking we will be doing is to rebuild our core code base to bring to life D.Buzz V4.
This process will not be quick - we estimate at least a few months. However, after we do this, it will enable us to more efficiently add features and updates, better bridge the gap between Metamask and Hive, and so so much more.
Don't worry however - we will still be pressing updates and squishing bugs as we start work on our version 4 code base for D.Buzz!
Thank you for joining our family on D.Buzz. We look forward to building you the best Web3 platform!
Ongoing development thanks and shoutout!
Much love to the entire @threespeak team for their help with the LITE platform - @vaultec and the whole crew are fantastic. They have been integral in the LITE framework development.
