Backlog of Bugs, HAS, Ceramic, Pockets and more
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
The first step to any good adventure is admitting that it's going to be fraught with peril. But that's what makes it an adventure! If there's no risk involved, then it's just a regular ol' day. But if you're willing to put yourself out there and take a few risks, then you're in for an adventure. And in our opinion, it's always worth it.
The development of D.Buzz is an adventure for sure. We have had a lot of peril, drama, success and joy along the way. Over the last week, another challenge on our development path arose. One of our developers stepped away for personal reasons. While we are happy to see them off on their new journey, it is bittersweetalso bitter-sweet. Sweet as they have more time to do what makes them happy (*That is always a win), but bitter as it has caused a small backlog of tasks in D.Buzz development.
With that said, we are currently looking for a new developer to hire for D.Buzz. Our parent company DataLoft works on other projects, and as such, we have a good pool of candidates we are looking at and interviewing. The target is that in a week or two, we will have a new hire that can assist in bringing our burned-down chart back inline.
This week's progress
Our lead developer had to backtrack to address a few outstanding issues that our other developer was working on. As such, this week on our testnet Next.D.Buzz, we will be rolling out a fix for the HAS persistent login issue.
We also will finally we're rolling out the Pockets feature to the mainnet D.Buzz and the updated HAS Integration along with it.
The goal for this week is to fix a few of the outstanding issues that were handed over, while focusing on almost ready-to-test Ceramic Integration.
We are also aware, that the mobile login options are limited to only a Posting Key option. This is due to a few issues with the Hive Keychain not interacting in a good way. Our ace developer, however, is on the case and has a few solutions they are working on to enable this. Please stay tuned.
In conclusion, while any adventure may be fraught with peril, it is always worth it in the end. The sense of accomplishment and growth that comes from overcoming challenges is invaluable, and no amount of risk can take that away. So go out and find your adventure, knowing that it will be worth every step of the way.
Thank you for taking the time today and getting caught up with the development. Please let us know in the comments if you have any questions.
Cheers!
