A Desperate Call, A Fruitful Response
this was a desperate young mother, a foreigner in the land of Malaysia, stranded, unemployed, used her remaining cash she had to top up enough enough to get online to call for help.
No one wanted to ended up this way. Malaysia to many foreigners is the land of sanctuary, especially for refugees running away from an oppressed country, and all was dandy and still good until the Covid-19 pandemic slipped into Malaysia, causing the economy to come to an almost stand still for almost 1 year.
Those who could be able to sustain themselves, even with odd jobs, would preferred not to trouble any aids from NGOs. But when desperate needs rises in a desperate situation, courage could be seen in anyone, even with humility.
We almost missed the opportunity to help the dire young mother of a 2 month old new born, with her husband also lost his job during the multiple lockdowns, exhausted their savings through the recent childbirth, but we are so grateful that there were just enough left to help them after double checking our resources, including 3 more families who came down into unforeseen circumstances, resulting them having no more income in their hands and even had to ask help from neighbours constantly.
Packed in with whatever we have left. Including a recent donation of milk powder that came in just in time, we finally were able to get things ready by Saturday and asked a favour from one of our F.I.N (Friend In Need) volunteer to help us send over to them.
Through and through it was a happy ending for the 4 refugee families even though they had to wait for a couple of days due to much backlog we face here at the Food Bank as more and more families in dire need tried to apply for food aid.
Wo know it isn't much from our side, but we do hope that the little we have, could help them to sustain a little longer until this unprecedented epidemic caused from the Covid-19 pandemic is lifted.
We are grateful of the last minute incoming donations that was just enough to get these family the food they need for both parents, grandparent and children; however this is not the end of the battle out of challenges as long as the economy is not entirely reopened in Malaysia.
Any prayers and donations are greatly appreciated as we strive forward in hope to add them into the list until they regain basic income.
One of the recipients here lost both her children and left with only a young grandchild with her, and she has been earning by collecting scrap metals until lockdown hits Malaysia, and is still struggling to reopen the economy.
In closing we are greatly reminded, that persistent prayers and boldness is so important in hard times, and from this persistent young mother's testimony, enable us to keep praying and strive towards our mission, "feeding one family in trouble at a time, whenever we can"

Healthy Drink During Health Crisis
*And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.*

In such crucial time while the Covid-19 continues to spread like wild fire in the Klang Valley of the capital city of Malaysia, keeping everyone healthy and strong is essential.
Especially for the vulnerable ones: the high risk seniors, the unknowing children, and the bodily worn out and recovering drug rehab residents.
And at times of need, we cannot imagine how we can survive without our loving donors who acted in love, proved us extra imported milk supply for us instead of slashing half price just to squeeze as much profit as they can.
Their heart remembering others who are suffering more than their profitable wallet, paints true humanity what God truly wants each and every one of us have - the unconditional Love for others.
Thanks to A2 Marketing, boxes and boxes of nutritious imported milk were sent to heritage homes where seniors will first be benefited from this love gift.
These milk that could be frozen which will last longer and reheat later when necessary truly helped the seniors receive the nutrients they need, along side with Fresh Food Bank initiative collaborating with PWD Smart Farmability and LK Fresh Eggs to keep seniors healthy until it is safe to reunite with their children who are working outside the districts and states and unable to come visit them as they used to.
Children who needs nutrients like these to build strong body and mind during their crucial growth are benefited from these milk. This truly have saved our collaborating partners from so much financial distress just to keep them healthy and strong. Every Litre of milk here is precious to them for staying alive and ready to learn every day.
No one wants to end up wrecking their health at young age, especially when one was stuck in drug abuse, which pretty much damage a lot of their internal organs and even bone health. These milk truly a life saver for them, as our Drug Rehab centers came to collect these milk for their residence; and we know, with proper nutritious milk like these along with the fresh vegetation provided by PWD Smart Farmability by loving donors, these men will have second chances in life, including their health.
Many of them because of these wonderful products donated by these impact partners are much better off in health than eating unhealthily solely relying on limited food resources especially lost of contract jobs due to lockdowns.
Not only the centers, the income-less since the Movement Control Order aboriginal families also benefited from this batch of fresh milk. This is truly a huge benefit especially for the children there who might never get to taste this growing up without the loving donations made possible.
When we thought "how can we be able to help these people in need?", God never disappoints us. HE truly opens doors that at the right time and right place, donations and food resources came, just in time for them to survive better for the month of February.
We that, we truly could say nothing but overwhelming grateful to our donors who are willing to still lend their helping hand despite the economy struggles the entire world is struggling.
We truly pray that they will continue be blessed abundantly, overflow, above and beyond as their heart and soul prospers in peace.

February 2021 Food Packing Journey
Hello everyone! How are you all today? We hope you are all in your best of health, and staying safe and healthy in such unprecedented times!
Ever since Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 were enforced with even tighter crowd control for public spaces, such as our Food Bank food packing center, the challenges to get food to the families we face are now on a new terrain; but it will never keep pull us down because we are more prepared every time the lockdown is enforced.
Fortunately the food and other items from donors and impact partners came early; where we could span out different days for different food packing. Each day is a new day for one outreach, and fortunately with the help of our peer branch (also a Drug Rehab Center) volunteers, we were able to get food distribute
There are also days when the outreach teams personally came to pack the food we prepared for them during odd hours when we are out distributing or attending meeting with hopeful donors / impact partners; and we are so grateful of their co-operative team work for the sake of the stranded hardcore poor families who lost their daily wage because of targeted location lockdowns due to exposed infections and sanitization.
Other days, less than a handful of volunteers will quickly clock in to get items packed the moment the out of bounds outreach districts received their police approval letters to cross a few districts, miles, just to collect packed food for distribution to inland hardcore poor families.
What really made our day was when donors (who preferred not to be mentioned) contacted us and sponsored us heavy duty trollies when they realised we had to move large amount of heavy rice and food bags with limited manpower this month.
This was truly a delightful surprised for us when we received news, and saw these brand new trollies were sent over!
Not to mention our recipients are in for a treat when Lipton decided to chip in to help! Even we ourselves have never tried this before!
We are overwhelmed that Kawan Food Manufacturer, one of our huge impact partners since 2020 lockdown, has decided to bless us to the brim with frozen chapati, so that we can help as many families, stranded or abandoned, will have something filled in their tummies.
You have no idea, 1 cup of hot oat based tea could save a person from the brink of starvation that can lead to death.
Our impact partners could always choose to profit from their produce, big or small, but for them to always remember to set aside for the needy, these are gems of angels without wings that can never be replaced in the hearts who are helped in such troubled times.

Aboriginals Gets Sustainable Vegetables
Ever since the Fresh Food Bank initiative was launched by our impact partner PWD Smart Farmability , PWD has been busy accumulating donations from the public in order to get hardcore struggling families who couldn't / uneducated with self sustainability gardening to have the healthiest, freshest vegetables without bleeding their minimal to no wage during this pandemic. https://pwdsmartfarmability.com/
This time round our indigenous group of fishermen from Pulau Indah will be one of the beneficiaries to receive the Terrarium H.O.P.E Box all because of the caring donors of Nationwide and World Wide who selflessly fork out some from their reserves to help these people.

Real Struggles, Limited Resources
These families have not been able to even reach a basic wage ever since the Movement Control Order (lockdown) was enforced in March 2020, and with the current more serious wide spread epidemic of Covid-19 happening, this is a great option for the families to stay at home but still able to have healthy fresh greens within reach.

Best Collaboration Yet in 2021
Movement Control Order - It came, it left, and it came again.
While many families were able to receive help one way or another, either by government aid and even outreach centers, there was one particular small refugee community struggled silently ever since March 2020, and help on in faith and tenacity while continue to search for ways to keep children's tummies filled and families afloat without losing themselves, in the new land not of their own - a temporary home until they could find long term assistance.
They are from Myanmar
When we got to hear from our impact partner PWD Smart Farmability that got news from the Rotary Club Bangsar about this stranded community, we were both shock and surprised in awe how they were sustained throughout almost the whole year, holding on their faith that help would come.
And fortunately, when we though the sudden influx of food came in right before the new (soft) lockdown and we almost couldn't contain it with our limited freezers and space, God showed us exactly where He intended us to send to.
Scrambling knowing the news, our faithful and wonderful volunteer, Abraham, came in to help. And in such divine timing that we managed to secure a donor to donate milk powder instead of other kinds of necessary food essentials, these milk power were immediately relocated to this refugee community because many of them are with women and children.
With the additional frozen food from Kawan Food Manufacturing and also Knorr donating oyster sauce, backs were all packed and waiting for collectiom.

Even with lockdown, our longest impact partner Sweetly Bakery never stopped providing, and these will definitely benefit many children who may or may not have these yummy treats for a long time.
To top up the first and biggest collaboration of the year, Merah Mawar Organic Eco Farm jumped in to help too by providing fresh harvested organic vegetables! What a great initiative we are seeing, all blessed by big hearts and willing hands!
We are just truly overwhelmed that despite a pandemic continues to try to suppress our nation and its residents into fear and depression, it didn't quench the loving heart of the people in Malaysia who decided that help others is more important.
No man is an island
One of our volunteers always love to say it.

A Warrior's Journey Start Young
All along when we started the food bank since 7 years ago, our sole mission was to help the hardcore struggling families at the same time help educate the public of not only the reality of struggles of food waste in Malaysia.
All this came to an elevated purpose when we first heard about the struggles of a family with 5 children when they registered into our recipient's list.

We would not really want to re-write their struggles before; but we do wanted to share with you that the family was so grateful they began to get the kids to be more involved with our weekly Food Bank's upkeeping while they came to collect food allocated for them.
All we thought was to give them a different life other that dwelling in darkness of struggles so that they can have a normal life
Which is actually to other kids this could be an amazing life experience and growing journey.

Not many kids in their life get to meet a blockchain community builder cum traveler celebrity!
Now 3 years later, these children are practically family members of the Food Bank that have persevered through 7 years.
While most monthly volunteers only came and did the heavy lifting during food packing and distribution, these little ones stayed back to clean up the entire place when the dust has settled and the crowd was dispersed; most of the time this is **a weekly extra curriculum event** for them to get out of the house with some fresh air.
Recently we also managed to acquire some extra funds for these kids so that they will be able to have a laptop for online learning while the *seemed* never ending epidemic continues in Malaysia.

As they grow up and funds for their education becomes more challenging, seeing their growth despite the struggles the family face with the grandfather still the sole breadwinner of the family is truly admirable. Even with storms and *Winter* seasons in life, we are so happy to have the privilege to journey with them.
They will always be our greatest pride and joy as we continue to see them grow into great young adults, especially the oldest has embarked into the life of a teenager.

January 2021 Food Packing Journey
New Year has arrived! And many of us are more than happy to embark the new year.
With a bit of sweat, and exercise for the weekend!
Due to rising epidemic spread in the capital city, Kuala Lumpur, we have decided to reorganise the way how we pack our food by not craping everyone in the same place. Food packing stations by categories (hygiene, perishable, non-perishable) are arranged further apart so that volunteers could help with social distancing in place.
We are so grateful volunteers came a lot earlier this time from our usual packing time, while the rest of the team have not arrived, we have started to plan ahead how things will be so that we can be more efficient in packing to reduce the time in the storage room.
By 10 am most of the volunteers were already buzzling around getting categorised food packed into necessary bags. We had about 250 packs to get ready including the seaside aboriginal outreach team who came in to help along.
This month we were truly blessed with a lot of different types of sponsors, including surgical masks that are re-packed into 10s in order to give to the families who may not have disposable masks themselves.
Malaysian's iconic tea company BOH also came in with a surprise of over 4,000 sticks of tea sachets (with oat) that would truly bless the taste buds of every Malaysian family.
Our regular food distributor donors Lady's Choice and Knorr and new donors from Campbell and Carte Dor also came in for this month's distribution, especially the pudding where Chinese families can reserve it to be made and serve for the upcoming festive season Chinese (Lunar) New Year.
Our youngest volunteers in our team busily packing for special needs family with the extra bonus of tea and spreads, which most of these families hardly have a chance to enjoy. Learning to distribute fairly and mindfully have become part of their learning journey in life.
Once all the bags are readily packed, they will be placed with outreach name tags along the parking lobby, including re-packed jams (marmalades), fresh eggs, oil and rice; waiting for individual outreach teams to come and collect all the food that will be distributed to the needy families that are registered under the food bank.
We are so grateful to our volunteers that besides coming to help us, some even managed to source extra donations so that we are ready to help emergency impromptu families.
By the end of our packing, we are just so happy that all these food with 6 months - 1 year left of shelf life donated by the food distributors and manufacturers are distributed out to the families.
Every single month we are just so amazed with the love of the people for the hard stricken families, and we know that other than us there are also plenty more food banks out there of all different states and districts are doing the same to help those who are in need, all because of the ***heart of giving***.

Getting Ready for 2021!
What a miracle this year has been!
We are truly grateful as we embark on the final week of 2020, we are now gearing up to January 2021 food packing and distribution!
Just yesterday we received a phone call from Lucky Frozen Sdn Bhd, a cold storage food distributor to come and collect *some* frozen mixed vegetables. To our surprise and delight, we had 2 freezer full of mixed vegetables, huge and perfect for distributing to our over 200 registered families that would last them a good few wonderful healthy meals!
Just early today (Tuesday) our long time impact partner and donor LK Fresh Eggs just called us that eggs are on the way arranged to cross almost 200 miles to our food bank, just so that families have fresh eggs to enjoy, upholding the #freshfoodbank initiative that our impact partner **PWD Smart Farmability** has spear headed during the pandemic Movement Control Order (aka soft lockdown) in the Klang Valley, part of the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. https://pwdsmartfarmability.com/
We are truly grateful that after pushing through 7 years and started initiating **#lessfoodtolandfill** initiative encouraging food distributors to plan ahead and reserve **food / essential items that are 6 months to a year left of shelf life** to help the marginalised, struggled, children centers, drug rehabs and nursing homes almost 5 years ago, more and more **distributors and food manufacturers looked more to humanitarian aid over profit** and we are truly blessed beyond words that families no doubt struggle. They have a little less worry when they could at least put some food on the table and their children could concentrate better with their bellies full.
Not to mention the surprised big tip yesterday will enable us greatly to extend our support to even more families that are stuck without job still at this point of time.
We truly hope that after this final soft lockdown (Conditional Movement Control Order) ends in 14 January 2021, schools can be re-opened for children to learn together with their peers and grow happily and healthily together; families without jobs will be able to work again.
Right now we can only pray for those who are infected, restricted and confined in quarantine will recover quickly;
while the rest of us continue with the health, hygiene and safety guidelines to ensure no further spread of infection.

Joy, Unspeakable Joy!
When we heard the call of the M2 Marketing telling us a few days before Christmas that they have additional plant based milk to give to recipients in our lists, we just passed the Christmas packing deadline although we didn't manage to give to ALL the families in our lists.
And this batch of milk became truly a miracle for us to bless the far out marginalised aboriginals who were stranded from fishing because of lockdowns and also the refugee families linked to an outreach (refugee school) we recently collaborated with.
Not only that, our long term supporter and impact partner Sweetly Bakery once again reserved as much buns as they can to bless the kids, and we know when kids are derived from proper food, their learning ability will also greatly reduced.
These kids truly look forward whenever our outreach team goes to visit them, knowing that they do not need to starve when food are scarce.
What is even more amazing is to see them give thanks for the food packs they received. Some people when they struggle, they become bitterness; but these families, despite of lack, they are filled with joy and gratefulness, and it is a wonderful opportunity to guide the children to be grateful and give thanks of what the Almighty has provided for them in such trying times. Showing them that there's still hope even when things look bleak.
Klang region currently is one of the highest active cases infected with Covid-19, we would be grateful if you would extend a prayer of protection for these families and the outreach teammates when they brave themselves cross districts with food and bearing good tidings to these families, that none of the children nor the family members of these marginalised families now lost of income will fall into the virus trap, and they will stay healthy and the entire district will be liberated from active cases soon so that these children have a chance to go to school to study and learn again.

The Hardship of Refugee Families
Have you ever experience a time when one day you were still in your home, the next thing you were forced to leave your country just because you pursuit your own faith that is not the same with the governments?
Yes. Persecution is real.
No one wants to be away from their homeland, but for the sake of the survival of their own families, these families were forced to seek refuge in Malaysia that has agreed to temporarily shelter them until they can find a permanent home in whichever country that is safe and also willing to receive them.
These families have dreams too; and no mother wish ill to her children. Every parent would hope that while struggling as a refugee in a foreign land, they hope their children will continue to learn, advance and one day able to stand in a land where they can call home and thrive and love the land they settle in.
We are very fortunate to learn these true stories from an outreach that has the pure heart to nurture these families' children. Teaching them as much as they can to prepare them to be impactful young adults in the future; but because of Covid-19 these families were not able to source part time jobs to sustain their own family.
Truly by the Grace of God we received these plant based milk recently that we needed to distribute them quickly before they expire because these milk are all natural with short shelf life. The company could slash prices and sell off for minimal loss, but they chose to donate to us; where we can bless these refugee families healthy plant based milk.
Not everyone could afford for such healthy drink, and we are so blessed that we could be a blessing to others.
We are currently collaborating with the outreach and whenever we have any excess food we will include them in our distribution list as well, other than our usual support to the local outreach for the past years. We hope we could place them under our permanent list of recipients until they can find a way to sustain themselves, and we truly hope that soon when the pandemic and epidemic ceases, these families will have a chance to find part time tasks to sustain their own family.
Your giving will also be allocated for the outreach school itself, where they too struggle to find ways to sustain the school due to greatly reduced revenue as this is a non-profit school.

Final Lap of 2020: December, Our Grateful Journey
The year 2020 has nothing short of miracles and even more it has been a year that truly tested our faith and our passion in our mission and vision:
the rubber meets the road, the perseverance and the tenacity to hold firm in the promises of God; that HE will keep providing even though we find ourselves lack in many times.
And today, it is a good way to just look back during the season of Advent, that what truly matters was not how famous or how achievable we can be, but to see in awe that in times of storms, **we see the beautiful hearts of humanity**.
Like it or not, there's always some good in us; and breaking news, **God is good** (despite there can be so many disagreement), and if we have good in us, God is in us, truly, whether we accept Him or not, His goodness that engrafted in us drives the goodness and beauty of humanity, it is part of us.
We have seen it in our very own eyes. The unconditional love that drives the passion to help the stricken.
And Covid-19 in many ways, has shown the good in each and every one of the impact partners and donors throughout the 9 months since lockdown / movement control was in place.
Corporate bodies and manufacturers set aside profit and sent in whatever resources they can spare throughout the months of the Movement Control Order (a.k.a lockdown) , they made sure that the Food Bank could at least distribute food to some families and more centers with ease for 6 months; others even prepared fresh produces like bread to feed those at the streets.
Hospitals were aided with masks to ensure at least front liner hospital staffs and patients there could have additional masks when there isn't any.
Food came in for even front liners such as the police force who have to guard the roads during enhanced control order for highly infected cases, just to keep their energy up.
Small businesses despite of low business volume still set aside their products to feed the children homes and centers.
Even at the break of dawn, small businesses forego profit on fresh produce (chicken) and gave it to the hard stricken families.
Social Enterprise partners came joined forces with the public to start a chain of Fresh Food Bank initiative just to help families and centers to save money and eat healthily.
Even the blockchain community forked out to help.
At times the blessings were so bountiful, some families have never even experienced such provision in their life. We were just overly excited to see the hearts of so many donors who forked out a portion of what they have just to support struggling farmers, not for themselves but for the marginalized / hard-struck families with ill stricken family members, **keeping everyone afloat and alive**.
Everyone who had their heartstrings pulled for the needy played their part.
Including pooling money together just to send food to vulnerable centers and families.
Making sure even during Christmas, many families pooled in money together just to bring good cheer to families as the large stretch of assistance for 2020.
Volunteers came prepared to help , following S.O.P (Standard Operating Procedures) , foregoing their rest day from work during the weekends just to get the food on time for especially the inland and seaside under privileged families.
All the photos are just the tip of the iceberg from all the good reports we received every time our outreach partners set out with the food donated and packed, and there are just so much more stories to tell as we continue to welcome more impact partners to join hands with our vision and mission: **to become a central hub to liaise with outreaches and other Food Banks** to further extend a helping hand to many who are still struggling to stand back on their two feet ever since the pandemic started.
All in all, we are just overwhelmed with the goodness of the people for the people all this time, and we couldn't thank you more that **there is light still in dark times**, where we could still look up with hope in our hearts and gratefulness in our smiles, and to wish you a blessed Christmas and let's move forward together conquering 2021 challenges ahead.

The Miracle in the time of Lack for a Refugee School
Hello everyone!
We hope that all of you are in your best of health in such uncertain times. For us in Malaysia, the outbreak 3rd wave that we fear of finally happened when the snap election happened in the State of Sabah, Borneo.

We do not know how it could spread out in such an uncontrolled manner taking to the account that voters followed SOP, but we are not here to point fingers **because we have more pressing needs**.
To be honest, there weren’t much left in the Food Bank after the September packing for October distribution.
Knowing the fact that before the first lockdown, the food manufacturers still had surplus goods that could go to waste in a year’s time and decided to donate to us to help the needy; however after 7 months of restrained business activities, there really isn’t much left the food manufactures can give.
When we posted our good news that our recipients received their blessed ration for at least to help sustain about 2 weeks or so, a desperate teacher messaged us to see if there’s anything we can help, especially the lockdown for Sabah and Kedah (the biggest fastest cluster spread of Covid-19) took place.
Looking at her desperate massage, we had to find ways to assist this school.
Sooner or later, we would face the same situation because voters from West Malaysia who’s hometown were in Sabah (and there weren’t enough time for postal votes) were returning. And true enough, some (including politicians) who weren’t diligent enough to keep their hygiene came back with the virus.
We were also briefed about Targeted Lockdowns if it goes out of hand.
And the spread indeed started.
Our worst scenario came true.
It spread like wildfire when 1 staff from a shopping mall was tested positive **days** after the result came out negative at the initial swap.
When this news came in with the desperate teacher (now even more worried) wondering how to keep the children with their refugee families alive, **we couldn’t do anything except – pray**.
Sometimes, it is good to take a step back and take a deep breath before panicking.
True enough, a miracle happened.
A2 Milk Marketing after hearing the lockdown commencement in less than 24 hours news, they called us to check if we needed anything extra just in case centers or families are stranded.
And that was the ***open door of provision came*** ! Not only for our heritage, drug rehabs and children centers, we even have enough for the refugee families under the care of the kind hearted teacher!
By 6pm the milk arrived and it was too late to arrange for logistic for the refugee school, and we only sent it straight to our closest heritage.
The early next day immediately we got help to start packing up for the teacher and soon 2 refugee schools in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur received milk that was just in time for the families to come pick up.
These children have never tried plant base before, but their expression seeing cartons of milk from the photos we received were priceless.
And we found out even more about the school, where the headmaster is a missionary with his helper a local Malaysian who trained the well learned refugees to be teachers themselves.
Even in a foreign land, when a community is tightly knitted together, assurance of life is still here to stay.
Their only obstacle was food; with the milk we received plus the remaining eggs after food distribution, this will give them temporary relief.
However, this will not be enough for them. They need to find another way to help to be self-sustainable.

As what we have mentioned earlier, most of the process / frozen food manufacturers have reduced greatly in production due to the lockdowns, only the fresh produce farms who are our impact partners are working closely with us. **However not everything can be obtained as sponsored items** which includes transport fees and **we welcome monetary (crypto) donations** so that we can transfer funds to outreach stations located in further out from our district that we barred from going during lockdown, where they can purchase food locally for the stranded financially struggling families.

The Miracle of A Cake

Do you believe in Miracles?
Many people even believers these days live in the believe that miraculous is of the past, and it is no longer for this day and age.
Oh how sad it is if the LORD hears this proclamation of some of HIS sons and daughters.
But here in our Food Bank that has journeyed in Malaysia for the past 7 years, we must say our survival is nothing of a miracle.
Just this cake for example, was already a miracle story itself.
We we have a really huge list of recipients, sometimes we may overlook tiny things.
But not God.

And just so happened, there was one cake that was just set aside by the donor, with no specific reason, and was waiting for our rider to collect from them along with the bread.
When the cake arrived to our fridge to set aside before any of the centers to come to collect, we didn't want to give it to the usual rehab centers (where mostly they have someone who has a birthday of the month). Instead, we left it in the fridge.
24 hours later when our F.I.N (Friend in Need) volunteer came to help us on our newsletter displays at physical locations, she had to leave earlier than usual because she told us that she wanted to find ingredients to bake a cake for her father, who's one our recipient and just victoriously battled through cancer.
This is his cancer free birthday celebration.
Suddenly we remembered that there was a 500g cake in the fridge that wasn't distributed, and immediately we stopped her and offered her the cake instead of wasting money for ingredients to make one.
And to her surprise, she exclaimed.
"A chocolate cake?? That's exactly what I was thinking of making!"
This would have saved her a lot of money even for a cake mix. She has been struggling with mortgage bills and being a caretaker for her elderly parents with a salary cut ever since the pandemic happened.
When she cut the cake and showed me the photo, such immense joy filled our hearts!
**IT IS A Chocolate cake! Double Choc even!**
That is her father's favourite.
God prepared everything.
This truly reminded us the scripture above, *those who seek the LORD lacks no good thing*. Even as tiny as getting a cake for such a celebration was being taken cared by the LORD. Oh how faithful HE is for HIS mercy truly endures forever!
Time and time again the LORD has truly showed her father that Matthew 7:7-8 is real to him, and how much he is loved.
We were also very blessed to witness his salvation before the day he was hospitalised and later diagnosed with cancer, from his journey to surgery and his recovery after surgery for 100 days.
Now, with just a tiny little obedience allowing the Holy Spirit to tug our hearts, as a tiny issue as such of a one simple cake, brings us so much more assurance and faith that no matter how hard things can be especially trying times such as this in the year 2020, with HIS guidance, HIS provision and HIS protection, **indeed nothing is to hard for our Heavenly Father**.
We are just so grateful that HE chose to use us to be part of such a miraculous celebration.
We hope that this incident, just happened a few hours ago, becomes an inspiration and building faith to be bold to come to the Father for every minute thing. Nothing is too small nor too big for HIM.

From Recipient to Volunteers F.I.N, Life of a Family with Strong Hearts
Being the Bread Winner of the family is never easy; it is more challenging when you think things were getting better, seeing your first child married off and wishing her well to establish a good home, only to realise 7 years later everything went topsy-turvy and you and your wife were left with 5 young grandchildren to feed, with you almost reaching retirement age, and ended up to fight a restraining order from the abusive father of the children so that they can grow up in a more peaceful environment.
This is the life of Alex, a strong hearted father with a missing daughter yet to be found, lost of financial due to the court fights, and now working as a Grab driver just to keep the family fed.
He had seen his fair share of storms to the point he was infected with shingles due to long hours sitting and driving around while lack of fluids, lack of rest and weakening immune system. But we are so grateful that he weathered through the storm with his loving family, staying in a small flat barely able to keep up with rent; and ever since we knew of his struggles losing almost everything to protect their grandchildren we have been supporting this family at the sidelines with weekly food supply for almost 3 years now ever while they continue to battle through financial situation, living weekly wage to weekly wage.
One of our most heart warming journey with this man who loves his family and God and a hard worker are the growth of these children. They have weathered through the storms together with their grandfather, and they grew into a much stronger and more responsible children along the way.
Transforming from just recipients to volunteers F.I.N (Friend in Need) family.
Whenever the kids have time and they have finished their homework and chores, they will follow their grandmother to come to the Food Bank to help repack whatever items from bulk shipment and would clean up the place when they see it is untidy. Most of the time, they join the monthly volunteers to come to pack up food bags for distribution to the outreach teams the following day.
Hard work is not a nuisance for the kids. Willing to pick up the pen and help whenever needed is what we noticed the kids have started to adopt.
Not to mention a lifetime experience that not every kid will ever walk through.
This is something money cannot buy, and not to mention the pride of the grandparents seeing them grow; including all of us.
We truly wish these kids will grow up to be strong adults of virtue through this journey, and we are so happy that they, one of the many recipient families that are under our list, will one day out grow this challenge of life into strong young movers and shakers that this world sorely needs.

Hello Everyone, Let Us Introduce Our Mission, Our Journey, One Family At a Time, and Why We are Here
Ah.... Malaysia
This is the land where the people live to eat, surpasses eat to live.
You can even screen though tons of YouTube vlogs about travelers and locals showcasing the diverse food from tastes and beauty. Because of its multi-racial, multi-cultural big family communal lifestyle, Malaysia has been so blesse with abundant food that no one really noticed that there's any lack in terms of provision.
To the point, there are some who had this in mind...
"*ah, if it is not nice, just leave it, you do not need to finish it"*
Yes, I can personally attest that when you pass by a wet market or even behind a restaurant, you get to see all sorts of wastage in the garbage bin.
That's pure wastage. From a now spoiled nation.
All of this, came to a halt when the pandemic struck the land of Malaysia, one of the first country to had the highest infection rate in Covid-19, and fortunately, we have survived with around 1% overall death rate vs infection as per recorded on 1st October 2020.
However just like any other country, this pandemic has caused so much economic disruption that more and more people are out of jobs, more and more families start to struggle to put food on the table.
Before the pandemic, There are at least 3.8% (registered number) of the local families in this country are earning below standard wage, and the percentage has now increased remarkably since March 2020 due to a full nationwide Movement Control Order took place.
During the time of abundance that was recorded 5 years back where Malaysia has 15,000 tons of food wasted daily; now, with the economy in a huge struggle of even spending further to sustain the economic flow especially food supply chain, even more wastage is surging, while more poor families struggle without food.
We hope to close the gap of the both through this new technology we embark into. With your support and your time reading our stories that we will be publishing here, all acquire funds in BCH gathered will assist to cover logistic fee and even purchase other basic raw food from merchants when our impact partners are unable to provide any extra aid for the under privileged families who are not only unable to keep working particularly for those who rely on daily wages, but also totally stranded from the still in placed Extended Recovery Movement Control Order.
Every month we have volunteers who will come together following the Standard Operations Procedures to pack for at least 200 under privileged and marginalized aboriginal families including refugees that are registered under our database with the help of our outreach teams who risk their lives sending food packs to even the deepest / furthest outskirts places so that at least for some time, these stranded families will not need to starve in the dark.
We truly hope that our stories will not only send an awareness of the assistance of struggling families, but also we hope that we can inspire locals all over the globe to not give up and lend a helping hand to one another.
