We live in a wonderful world. The natural physical world is where we live. It is our home. Our eyes have only to look and we see the marvelous vistas that nature constantly shows us. In the heavens, we behold celestial sights of sunrise and sunset, the waxing and waning of the moon, and the silent twinkling stars in their courses.
We watch the afternoon skies imagining shapes and faces on the clouds above. On the earth itself, our eyes follow the tall towering mountains to their heights. We gaze at the long stretches of sandy seashore.
The vistas of the natural world are endless. We see green tress and flowers of red, yellow and purple, and colors of the rainbow after the rain. Rocks and minerals are strewn under our feet. We stand on life-niurishing soil. We see living and nonliving things.
We experience cold and heat, light and darkness. We know the sound of the rushing stream and the boom of thunder that comes after the lighning. Light forms our images on a mirror. Sounds produce echoes among the cliffs. Light, sound, and heat are all part of the vistas of nature. The natural world even extends to the microscopic and atomic world which we see through instruments.
Science is actually all of these. Through science,we understand the natural world around us. Science gives meaning to all that we see and experience in the natural world. It aims to comprehend the how's and why's of everything that is part of the natural world.
Science has its own way of doing things. Science classes are conducted in different way. We do not usually make a statement about something, not until we have made observations and gathered informations.
Science is really a way of looking at the natural world. After learning the ways of Science, you can see things differently. We can enjoy sunrise and sunset beacause the earth rotates. Science makes us understand nature. Clouds are white and fluffy, and they are made of water droplets from cooled water vapor. Echoes are interesting but it takes time to be heard because sound has its own speed. The experiences, the sights, the vistas nature presents to us take a new significance. Science enable us to look at nature in a more enlightened manner.
Things and events in nature are truly marvelous in themselves. Very often, we are even more amazed when we come to understand the intricacies and working of nature. We realize that the natural world is truly the handiwork of an intelligent Divine Creator and the created natural world truly proclaims His glory.
