Jeju love island is an erotic themed park in South Korea
South Korea is not just well known for its Korean dramas but also for its picturesque scenery, beautiful tourist spots where you can capture intagrammable photos. One of them is the "Jeju Love Island"
Jeju Love Island is an outdoor theme park based on sexuality and eroticism. Here is a quick backstory about jeju love island and how it came about.
During the 1970's and 80's, a lot of newly-wed Korean couples would come to Jeju love island for their honeymoon. During that time there were a lot of travel restrictions during the cold war era and a lot of these newly-wed couples were actually arranged marriages. And obviously, there is still a little bit of tension and awkwardness between the couples. So when they would take their honeymoon to Jeju island, staff from the hotel and resorts would actually help create fun and erotic games and activities. To kind of help them ease the couples and to create a more fun/erotic experience for these newly-wed couples.
So fast forward to 2002, university students from Seoul's Hongik University started curating these sexually themed sculptures. And two years after that, in 2004 that's when they opened the Jeju's Love Island. Every month these sculptures and curations will be rotated in and out. So different Korean artisans will display their sexual large phallic work.
There are 140 sculptures representing humans in various sexual position. The entrance fee to Jeju love land is 12,000 korean won or $10.3. Park opens between 9 in the morning and closes midnight. So flexible hours for you to get your perverted sexual needs.
The island isn't just covered in phallic objects, they also sell them in the food store. Food store around the love land sells sexual organs shaped waffles and breads.
It is so interesting how love land has so many different sexual themes in their curations. They've got some abstract themes, tribal, large woman, torso-less figures. A little bit of everything for everyone. It's very diversified in their themes.
If given a chance, and money of course, i realy love to visit this love land with my husband. I'd bet it would be great!
Ah, I wish I could've gone there when I was at Jeju!
