This afternoon, I was sitting on the sofa when suddenly my daughter asked me, how would you know that you're in love?
I was quite taken aback but I'm glad that she asked me those questions.
Her: Ma...
Me: Oh,
Daughter: How would you know that you're in love?
Me: Why do you ask? Do you have a boyfriend that I do not know of?
Her: Of course not, I don't have a boyfriend. I am just curious Ma.
Me: Well, you can just feel it.
Her: How?
Me: You'll know you love that person when your heart beats fast when you see him. You can't think straight. You get jealous when someone gets close to him. You want to look beautiful for him. All you think about is him. You feel happy when you see him or just even thinking of him.
Her: Ahh, so that's the feeling of being in love.
Me: Do you have something to tell me?
She looked at me straight and sigh.
Her: Ok Ma, I like someone, he is from school. He's cute, and smart. I don't know but I think he likes me too.
Me: Did he tell you that he likes you?
Her: No, but I can feel that he likes me. I'm not sure though'
Me: Anak, don't stress yourself over things that you're not sure of. Just enjoy the time being with him. No need to rush, and don't be serious. You're still young. Focus on your studies.
Her: I know Ma, I won't disappoint you and Papa.
Me: Just enjoy life anak,
Her: Okay Ma.

I feel proud of myself. I think I raised my daughter well. And I'm glad that she is open to me, and keeping no secrets from me. I remember one time, she went home from school looking upset, I asked her if she's not feeling well. She told me that she was upset because her "crush" likes somebody else and not her. I laugh at that time, she was only 9 years old back then. So I told her to study hard and be good in school so that her "crush" would feel awful of not liking her back, hahaha.
