Cboe told when the new product will appear and which digital assets it will include
Cboe spokeswoman Catherine Clay said that initially the index will include cryptocurrencies with the largest capitalization, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. At the first stage, the tool will include no more than 10 digital assets and show only historical data, not in real time. This feature will appear in the second phase of product development.
“I believe you will be able to see the Cboe index for cryptocurrencies in the second quarter,” Clay clarified.
In early December, the provider of leading US stock indices, S&P Dow Jones Indices, announced the launch of its own cryptocurrency index in 2021. It will be developed in partnership with New York-based firm Lukka. A similar product was introduced in 2019 by the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
