You are more than your Trauma
Welcome to the world of flaws.
You are part of it, so do I
I think every one has some experience from the past that resulted to a wounded heart and soul. The effects of someone's cruelty that stabbed the very core of your body, seems to be a long lasting cut that won't heal. Some people suppressed their traumatic experience in order to forget or at least deny the fact that this happened to them. It's too painful to handle so they created a lie that made their brain believe that that's the reality. But, it won't last long. When the emotion was triggered, it'll result too much pain.
Be it physical or mental abuse, it leave a scar that we want to remove. Traumatic experiences are not limited to abuse. It can be a painful loss, a severe accident, witnessing a crime or worst being the victim, and others.
Because of other people's evil deeds or wrongdoings, you'll suffer for something you shouldn't be. The mark of trauma won't separate from you, it'll be forever there no matter how we want to remove it. It become our flaws. Flaws that will make us hate ourselves, make us shut down and keep distance from other people. Give up on our dreams, give up on life. A lot of people may experienced trauma that I haven't had. So, people might say it's easy for me to say this because I am not on their shoes. But, I will still tell you, that you are more than your trauma.
It's not easy to move on from any incident that caused you pain. We have a different way to heal. Asking help from professional is one of the effective ways to fight this, but it will always start with ourselves. If you don't help yourself, no matter how hard other people try to help you, nothing of this will matter.
This trauma caused you to have the scar, to be flawed? Embrace it. It will always be part of you but it doesn't mean it will define your worth. You are more than that. Slowly, take things slowly, no one is, and should pressure you to heal. Healing is a process that takes time, it doesn't happen in a day or two give yourself some time. Let you be reminded by the pain, cry everything, face this and never run. Win against it. This is difficult but possible.
To all people who has scar of traumatic experience, you are more that.
You were, and you are more than your Trauma
