Welcome Back to School: Limited face to face Classes
Last February 2, 2022, the Department of Education announced the approval forĀ progressive expansion of face-to-face classes. All regional directors have been allowed by Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones to begin the progressive expansion phase of face-to-face sessions for both public and private institutions but only those schools which passed certain parameters. This includes: Schools that have been certified meeting the School Safety Assessment Tool's standards (SSAT); Schools must be placed in areas with alert levels 1 and 2 as determined by the Department of Health's periodic risk assessment. Based on the capacity of schools, other grade levels may already be included; Schools or divisions must have obtained the approval of the City or Municipal Chief Executive in the city or municipality where the school is located, as well as sufficient cooperation with their respective barangay leaders; Students who wish to attend face-to-face classes must have their parents' written permission; Schools are granted more flexibility in terms of contact time for teaching and learning, as long as meals are not consumed in the classroom except during regulated recess and; In face-to-face sessions, only vaccinated teachers are permitted, and vaccinated students are preferred.
Several protocols were included to ensure the safety of both the students and the teachers. In line with this, teachers, faculty members, and other agencies such as MDRRMO, helped hand in hand and started preparing before the implementation and reopening of classes. Every classroom is sanitized and cleaned. Students and teachers are required to wear protective equipment such as facemask and face shield while practicing social distancing inside and outside school premises. Parents' meetings will also commence before the opening of school to answer all the questions and give clarifications to every parent or guardian and orient them at the same time. All teachers were instructed and given the necessary guidelines as well as how the changes will be applied. The process was carefully planned and organized. Going back to school after a long time of attending online or modular education gave mixed feelings to students and their guardians- some may be skeptical about it but most are excited.
Here's another article that I wrote for my aunt. It's easier to create an article within a limited time if the topic is already available. I created this last time less than an hour since I already found a reference which is legit because it's from the website of DepEd.
Thanks for reading!
