Learners with Special Needs

Brian Herbert once said, “The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” Learning starts with one’s willingness to learn. Even though some have less ability and capacity to understand than the others, if they have the willingness to learn, this will make a big difference.

Some babies with special needs are difficult to recognize until they are one to three years old. When a situation that is not normal is discovered, it is preferable to instruct them as soon as possible so that they can adjust. Their learning may be too slow or unusual, but everyone has the right to a proper education, whether they are typical or have special needs, whether they are poor or wealthy. We can help them integrate into society by assisting them in utilizing their talents and skills, but the question remains as to where they may further develop and polish their abilities. This is why we must pay extra attention to children with disabilities.

Special schools are educational institutions that specialize in working with students who have special needs. They create programs that focus on a child's strengths and deficiencies. Parents are contacted, and this consultation serves as a foundation for the child's individuality. However, some parents who have difficulty accepting a disabled kid should enroll in a program that will assist them in dealing with their child's situation. When children have demonstrated that they can adapt effectively to classroom conditions and that their academic skills are increasing, they are blended with ordinary students so that they can learn from one another. This is referred to as mainstreaming. This is also an opportunity for typical students to learn about and embrace the needs of special learners.

In order t help children with special needs, we have to learn to adjust but teach them within the level f what they can understand and comprehend so slowly, they can learn how to adapt. We have to teach our kids, normal or with special needs, t be kind and treat people the way we want t be treated, and this will start to us the adults. I always believe that we should practice what we teach.

with love and curiosity.,

Opo, but it'll really start with the parents. They have to support their kids and also yun nga matanggap nila yung situation. Itsy a good thing may mga programs naman to help both the parents and the child

I'm unto this, a child who wanted to learn must be given the chance whatever the things happened to them. I loved also watching a TikTok or youtube video showing the blind child read via the sense of touch, I love how they give attention and time, kudos to those people who give their love and time helping special needs.

I also want to learn sign language din kasi I love kids din talaga and sometimes akala ko they're just too shy to talk yun pala they really can't. Maganda nga na may mga programs to help kids na maka interact despite the fact na may kulang sa kanila.

Children with this condition learn slowly, everything depends on their ability to understand and learn, but the most serious problem is that they have more impediments in the people around them, in the environment, than in their own intellect or limited physical condition, which pigeonhole them in a label of disabled or handicapped. I worked 30 years in special education institutions and I noticed more disability and intolerance in the environment where the child lives than in their own abilities. Interesting article

I agree, the environment we live in is sometimes more difficult to adjust and adapt, it's not actually their disability itself but the way other people will interact with them. We do need to understand and adjust so they can learn to open up and adapt as well.

That's interesting work, I would love to visit some kids with special needs. I love kids so much but I haven't interacted more with children with special needs

worked 30 years in the area of mental retardation, and if it is interesting, I am still passionate about it. It taught me patience, tolerance, empathy and above all a lot of love for others in need.
