Queer Joy in the Spotlight
Queer Joy in the Spotlight is a new charity NFT Collection sponsored by QueerCoin. It features art from LGBTQ artists and 50% of all proceeds from sales will be donated to The Trevor Project to support LGBTQ youth.
According to The Trevor Project website:
The Trevor Project’s 2021 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health found that 42% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, including more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth.
The Trevor Project runs 24/7 support to LGBTQ by providing a counselor to speak to via chat, text, or call at any time.
Crisis counselors are trained to answer calls, chats, or texts from LGBTQ young people who reach out on our free, confidential and secure 24/7 service when they are struggling with issues such as coming out, LGBTQ identity, depression, and suicide.
The Trevor Project also works to support LGBTQ individuals via legislative advocacy and education.
Through legislation, litigation, and public education, The Trevor Project is the leading advocate for LGBTQ youth mental health in preventative and intervention efforts at the federal, state, and local level to address factors that place LGBTQ youth at significantly higher risk of suicide.
