Are NFTs Worth It? (For Beginners)
To be perfectly honest, the answer to that is completely up to you.
I believe it is worth it for myself and for many others. It is fairly easy to mint your art, and you don’t have to be a great artist to sell an NFT. Some of the most popular NFTs have been pixel art.
The hardest thing to navigate is avoiding Ethereum gas fees which have become outrageously high. There are several ways of getting around this.
You could use the gas-less store on Mintable, though you will need to do all of the marketing work in order to sell it. There is also the DeSo network who’s gas fees are currently an unnoticeable fraction of a penny. You can also mint on OpenSea for free via the Polygon network (not to be confused with Polygram), so you certainly have some options.
I would also encourage you to explore the NFT and crypto space as there is so much to discover. If you wanted to mint NFTs on a cheaper network than Ethereum you could also try out the Solana network, and buying Solana (as well as Ethereum and DeSo) is easy on Coinbase.
With all of that in mind, I challenge you to really think about what your goals are in the NFT realm, and how hard you are willing to work towards them. The NFT market, while still getting infinitely more popular, is pretty saturated and getting noticed organically is difficult. It takes a lot of self-promotion to sell even a single NFT.
If you hear that and still are eager to pursue this, I wish you the absolute best of luck in your endeavor and can’t wait to see what sort of NFTs you make!
