The Australian nicknamed "The Man with the Golden Hand" contains a rare antibody that can be used to treat children with rhesus disease, a type of anemia caused by incompatibility of the blood of the fetus and its mother. At the age of 64, he donated blood thousands of times, saving millions of children.
In May 2018, at the age of 81, he crossed the age limit to be a donor, retiring after saving 2.4 million children according to the Australian Red Cross.
