Twelve years in, it's worth paying attention to the beginnings. I'm writing to three groups of people here:
Long time Bitcoiners - You should have read some of Satoshi Nakamoto's words by now. If not, you need to get your homework done.
Medium time Bitcoiners - You may have heard of the whitepaper, perhaps glanced at it. It's time to look at the beginnings.
New Bitcoiners - Welcome. We love you.
I edited a book called "Kicking the Hornet's Nest: The Complete Writings, Emails, and Forum Posts of Satoshi Nakamoto, the Founder of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency".
Recently, it got a bit of traction when it was featured on Bitcoin.com in a book review. Take a look.
The upshot is that...
All of Satoshi's public words are recorded, all of them, in chronological order.
I found it fascinating to go through what he wrote, his thoughts and interactions, in the order that he went through them. I write "he", by the way, and explain why in the book's introduction.
I added very little commentary. "Kicking" was to be Satoshi's words, not mine. There is a bit of commentary in the beginning, the rest is all Satoshi.
"Kicking" is free too. There are several downloadable versions at https://nefties.com/kicking like pdf. There's also video and NFT versions set to awesome polka music! Because, why not?! For the hard core Bitcoiners, a printed paperback version is also available. How cool would that look on the bookshelf behind you during your next video conference? :)
