I want to share my favorite artworks and these 8 are the best pieces that I made last year. The one that is the most memorable for me it the Crimson Beauty piece. It took me several revision and even redraw the character from scratch again after I finished it. Yup you read it right, after I finished everything and then after a week I realized I didn't like the finished artwork. I still have the Finished png saved on my cloud drive and be hidden there forever 😆. It is also the art piece that made into a gallery/exhibit.
Hopefully this year will be as great as last year 🤞.
I can't remember when was the last time I draw a fanart and based from what I posted on my instagram, It was a fanart of IU. That was 7 months ago, around May 😅
Last week, Twitter was recommending me nonstop about this Chainsaw man anime especially this character Makima. I guess Twitter was giving me a sign to do some fanart again 😆
So here's my fanart of Makima and I don't know how accurate this is. I just have a concept on my mind that I wanted to draw and this is the result. I've only watched the trailer and still waiting for the anime to finish so I can binge watch it.

Since it's already December and the weather is getting colder now here, so I decided to draw something related. Drawing a face at this angle is still a struggle for me and I don't know why, maybe it's just I'm used to drawing a 3/4 view xD. I tried to do a challenge for this piece by only using colors that I've picked from an onion but I end up using only two colors which I used on the skin and her scarf. I don't have an idea for the background and didn't want to use a plain color, so I just painted a simple sky. I used a custom brush that I made specifically for the clouds and I really like the result.

My Crimson Beauty artwork is displayed on an art exhibit right now at the Philippine Blockchain Week together with other Filipinos artist in the NFT space. I wish I was there to see it personally but the event is too far from where I live.

Been busy for more than two weeks doing some graphic design projects from our guild and barely had no time to even touch this piece, but I'm glad that I was able to finally finish it. I've been wanting to draw something like this for months now where there are different light sources that shines on the subject. This was kind of a test for me on how much I learned using the Reilly method. Also, I almost gave up on finishing the background and replace it with a plain one instead just to save some time 🤣. I had to switch to Photoshop so I can place the different artworks on the signage because of medibang's lack of features.

This is what I've been doing on and off for days now. I keep finding mistakes on her pose so I had to adjust it and paint it over again. I really wish medibang will add more features like the liquify tool or a warp tool so you can adjust things easily. I hope I'll have more time to finish it this week or next week.
Here's my latest artwork, some may have seen a preview/reel of this on my instagram last saturday. I wanted to make a post here yesterday but I postponed it cause I made some final edit on the artwork. This was inspired from Hololive's ELITE Shrine Maiden, that is why she also have a reddish hair. There was supposed to be swords floating around her like the Gilgamesh scene from Fate Stay Night, but didn't liked it so I removed it.
I'm changing my plans for the rest of the year and this is the start. I will still make artworks as usual and keep improving my art. Aside from making art, I also need to make shorts/reels of my WIPs cause I heard short form video content is more favorable in the algorithm both on YT and Insta. I wish I could also post it here but I assume there will be no video format content here just like on noise.cash.

Yesterday, I minted my 3rd NFT piece and added it in my Blades of Beauty collection. Creating this piece was a challenge for me especially the arm pose and the background. I lost track of time but I think it took me more than 15 hours to finish this.
I still don't have a sale yet, though I was not that active in promoting my collection xD. I already have an idea for my next piece but it might take awhile to finish it. I will definitely post a wip of it soon.

Here is a little sneak peek of the 3rd piece that I'm currently working and it took me awhile to create this. I had to scrap the first WIP (right pic) and started from scratch again cause I noticed the face seems off after coloring it and also the body angle is too similar to my first piece. I'm 40-50% done and I still need to render her hair, clothing and make a background.

Yesterday, I minted my second NFT art on objkt. It took me a while to finalize this because I keep changing and adding something on the background 😆. I haven't sold the first one yet but I have been posting it on some shill threads on Twitter to get more exposure and will do the same for this one. That's it for now, I need to work on my third piece.

I finally found the last two pieces of my supposed to be NFTs on juungle. It took me a while looking for these two and I blame my genius file naming on this xD.
The two pieces have different art style bec the first one was when I was still a newbie and it was the only style I'm comfortable with. The next one was when I was already exploring different art styles. These were made three/four months apart, around April/may-july last year.

After weeks of creating this piece, it's finally done!! I could have finished it last week but I took a 2 days break to relax and celebrate the birthday of my niece. The break really gave me a few ideas that made me make several revisions to this piece xD.
When I drew the face, I took inspiration from a guy with a skull tattoo on his face. The tattoo followed the shape of his face. I forgot where I took the picture cause it's been around 7 years since I made it a profile picture on facebook.

I only made a sketch last week while still practicing the new method and this time I tried to be more lax when using it. It still took me 3 hours to finish this sketch cause I refined the face several times xD. I have no plans on coloring this sketch because I'll be continuing on my personal project this week and here's a sneak peek of what I've done so far.

Since I started learning the reilly method, I haven't tried it on a reference just like I did when I learned the loomis method. So I took a random picture of IU as a reference and started plotting the lines and shapes over it. I was surprised on how those lines and shapes really fits the contour of our face including the highlights and shadows.
After plotting all the lines and shapes, I tried to recreate it all over again by just looking at the reference. The attempt was a fail cause I did a lot of adjustment when I started painting it. But even though it was a fail, I learned a lot new things and will practice more using this method.

I don't know if this count as a monster but I draw a kawaii rice cooker space cat. I wasn't sure what to draw for this challenge until I saw our rice cooker xD
I'm back with the line art for this one and I used the pencil brush cause I really like it's texture. I tried coloring it using the brush so that it will look like a colored pencil, but it only made the drawing look messy and unrecognizable.

I really thought this was a DTIYS challenge xD so I tried drawing him as an adult. The character is Bojji from the anime Ranking of kings.
I've been drawing heads using the Loomis method and I thought it's time to do the advanced one (Reilly method) cause it is useful when shading the face. It's really confusing when drawing 3/4 profile of the face and I need more practice using this method.

I didn't know that we're at #7 now on emoji to OC challenge. I think the last one that I've joined was the clown emoji or something so I kinda miss this challenge. The 3 emojis are mushroom, meditation, and cupcake.
Here is my entry and just like the others, I drew a girl with a mushroom hat and holding up some cupcakes while meditating. Drawing this was a challenge because it was so hard to make the colors of the subject and the background go well together. I also think it still lack some darker shadow on the skin, but overall I like how it turned out.

I was a busy bee last week and was only able to draw this last sunday. I drew this as a thank you gift for a vtuber who just retired last week and her name is Uruha Rushia, a vtuber from japan. I started watching her during the pandemic (2020) and she's one of the reason I fell into this rabbit hole (vtuber world).

Last Sunday I decided to draw something just to warm up my hands and brush up my skills cause I was not at ease when I finished drawing my valentine creature. I didn't thought that it will take me a long time to draw this especially her mouth. I had to redraw and paint it several times to get it right. Here is my entry for the Draw you valentines creature on Artpark. The creature below is based on a chocolate that I usually see during valentines. It's a left out chocolate with a bit mark at the upper right of the head exposing its moldy filling.
This creature will seek the one who bit it and if found, it will sneak during the night and will go inside of his/her mouth then explodes the moldy filling inside.

After being away for more than a month, I'm finally back!! I guess... xD
The images below are the last two things I did in 2021 before the Super Typhoon hit our province and it is the reason why I was away for more than a month here.
The one on the left is a practice I made on ambient lighting and color after watching a YT video by Marco Bucci. There are color/s that you'll think that it will not look good or it doesn't make sense when used as an ambient color but once you applied the color/s it really mix well with your base color.
The one on the right is a WIP and was supposed to be my entry for the DTIYS Rudolph here on Artpark, but the Typhoon happened. I think this piece will stay as a WIP since christmas is already over or maybe I can repurpose this into something new.

This was my homework that I've submitted to Cryptopop Art Guild. The homework was about sketching a real life reference using basic shapes. It was a challenge for me because I don't sketch using shapes on the arms and sometimes on the legs. Our mentor was really on point on what I lack on my skills, like the Foreshortening, Gestures, and Proportions which I mentioned here several times on my previous posts.
I'm really thankful that we have an art mentor on our guild to critique our artworks, give advice/tips, and help us improve our skills.

Finally I finished my Crypt-OC-tober entry!!!
I wasn't really sure what to draw at first so I just scribbled until I made a face and a body. After looking at it, I finally decided to go for a cyberpunk-ish design for my character. If ever I make my own cryptocurrency, I want this angel to represent my coin.
Drawing this piece was very challenging and I changed the design of the wings several times cause the first design feels off and it doesn't make sense.
