Canon printers are known to be as a most reliable printer brand in the market due to its high speed and quality printing. It makes printing very easy from any device to which it is connected. But sometimes these troubleshooting steps does not resolve the error and you need to reset the printer back to factory default settings. Now, you must be wondering where is the reset button on a Canon printer. In most of the printers, stop button serves the function of reset button along with the combination of keys. Let’s have a look at the steps for the same.

Steps to perform hard reset on Canon printer:

·        First, press the stop button on your printer.

·        This will make the alarm on your printer go off.

·        Release the stop button when the alarm light starts flashing.

·        This process of long pressing the stop button will reset the printer back to default settings.

·        Then, uninstall the outdated printer driver and update your printer.

·        Restart the printer after configuring the settings.

Another way to reset the printer is through navigating to the settings and select the reset function. Here are the steps for the same.

Steps to reset Canon printer:

·        Use the up and down arrow buttons on the printer panel to go to the settings.

·        You will see the resetting option and click on ok.

·        Turn off the printer and press the stop and power button on your printer.

·        Release the stop button first. Keep on holding the power button and press the stop button twice.

·        Wait for at least 30 seconds or a minute till you see the letter O on the screen and press the stop button for another four times.

·        Lastly, press the power button twice and printer will be restored to default factory settings.

Resetting a printer will set it back to factory default settings. It will go back to original configuration of the printer. In the process it also gets rid of any error or issue that printer is facing. You can make the connections again and try printing a test page to check if the problem has been resolved.
