Travelling in Russia is really comfortable. We still have people visiting us.

For me the prices aren't that high.

Taking a taxi is a luxury and always has been. Years ago they picked you up in a great car, the chauffeur carried your bags, opened the door and so on. Today they dump you in a small old car no matter with how many they are. Rude drivers, loud music, they arrive late (even if you order online days ahead) and always make excuses. Btw public transport is expensive too especially if you don't live in the city. You are better off with a car of your own.

That's not the case in Russia. Where you are living ? Here we have a special application where we have rating of the driver, in case the driver has a bad rating, he will not be given a lot of orders. Taxi drivers are nice, in case asked of lowering the music, closing the door they do that. They know if they get rude they will get punished by the application. Yandex is very respected company in Russia, they will not risk their reputation. That's why Yandex Taxi is so strict with drivers. Very good for clients. And even the prices are acceptable here. $1 for a km is not a lot I think. I can afford that.

I live in the Netherlands. No apps or so to rate drivers. Sounds to me that system works better. $1 is reasonable. With us they already start with a price higher before you even got into that car. A meter runs (clock ticking). You pay for the time not the distance (some do if you take a longer road for example the airport or abroad) so busy traffic, waiting, driver taking the long road is all paid by the customer.
