Stop being dependent on exchanges !

I'm really surprised to see so many crypto investors leaving their own money in exchangers. How they could trust them all that money !?

When cryptocurrency was created, it was decentralized. So, no one was able to know who is the owner of that money. I guess the first transactions were from people to people. So, all that both parts had to do, is to install the wallet, and they could send to each other the amount they wanted. I'm almost sure that P2P methods of sending crypto existed before the creation of the exchangers. Otherwise, how those first transactions could be done ?!

Anyway, those who started owning crypto needed a way to give that monetary value. So, they did need exchanges after. But I also don't think that those exchanges were asking for identification. Because that's decentralized, and it shouldn't be related with our centralized identity. We should always separate between us as alive people and between the papers we needed to hold to identify ourselves. Before our parents gave us names, we were born with no names. So, the real decentralization seems to be supporting human rights. And everyone has the right to share, or not to share his real names to websites. An exchange is just a website.

Plus, knowing that an exchange is usually an organization of people who can gather a lot of data. That information could be sold, and they may even write that in ''terms and conditions''. And they can even pass that to other organizations and in this case they can relate your identity to the obligations you must fulfill. And now they even restrict some countries of using their services. And why they are able to do that ? Why they are so powerful ? That's only because crypto investors gave them too much value, while exchanges are simple websites. And you know how they were involved in frauds against particular cryptocurrencies. How many times we see them impacting the governance of blockchains. How we can call that a blockchain if it's not protected from exchanges to play with.

I think we are too dependent on exchanges, while we have so many great developers who can create for us decentralized exchanges. And there are already a lot of them.

We have to understand the danger of using centralized crypto exchanges. Don't give them that power please !
