R.E.P. : Russian Expressions & Proverbs

I would like to share in this post a Russian expression about safety and success.

I'll translate this time the following expression :

Тише едешь — дальше будешь !

That means : "The quieter you go, the further you'll get."
You may see only one meaning here, but I see a few of them.

The first and the most obvious is about driving a car. Because they mean "here to drive" when they say "go." So, we may say : "The quieter you drive, the further you'll get." It's all about safety. Especially with the fast cars we have, and especially being young, we can drive so fast and not get anywhere, or drive slower and always get to the destination.

The second thing that I see is about success. The slower we learn about everything, the more time we spend digging into information, the more chance we have to succeed.

And the third is also about people who are so loud about what they are doing. They may talk a lot without doing anything, or just act like they are doing it. While we should judge people by their actions, not their words.

I'm enjoying writing about expressions I hear all the time.

That's a part of Russian culture that, so many don't know about around the world.

I'll be sharing more.

Check other posts with the same title !

Enjoy. :)
