Top Gun is a really very pleasant film, in my opinion the most beautiful of Tom Cruise, and it will be that I lived my adolescence between the 80s and 90s, but every frame of the film reminds me of all the times I have seen the film with my older brother or my friends. The film was shot in 1986 under the direction of the great director Tony Scott and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who also collaborated in the sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which will be released this year in cinemas, pandemic permitting.
A very intense and not at all boring film divided into two parts: a much lighter first part that coincides with the training of Maverick (Tom Cruise) in the Top Gun, team of the best warplane pilots, supported by his great friend Goode , more a brother than a friend, and the second part more dramatic, intense, due to Goode's death during an exercise and entering the war against the enemy air fleet.
Instructor Charlie will play a supporting role in Maverick's depressive state, becoming his partner, and despite the pilot's exuberance and recklessness, he is considered the best in the academy but, due to his close friend's accident, goes through a dark period that will see the light again in battle, in the memory of his friend and co-pilot.
A really well done film with very spectacular aerial drills that whiz and cross in crazy trajectories, at the limit of the possible. The scenes are accompanied by an exceptional soundtrack, among the most beautiful in filmography: from the sweet Take My Breath Away, which won an Oscar in 1987 as best song, to Danger Zone and the Anthem electric guitar solo background.
Many awards received, including 3 Oscars for sound effects and editing. I saw the movie in 4k with a medium quality stereo system and the planes seemed to whiz through my house! What a power! The photography is excellent, incredible shots especially inside the plane, the countless flips even convey a sense of nausea, I imagine the stomach of the pilots in reality ...
Top Gun is a really good movie and I invite you to watch it, if either you are too young to have seen it in the 80s or you have some kind of prejudice. I repeat, I don't like Tom Cruise very much as an actor, especially in the last decade of his filmography, but in this film, surrounded by high-profile actors and an action-packed storyline, I consider him among the best.

Top Gun è un film davvero molto gradevole, a mio giudizio il più bello di Tom Cruise, e sarà che ho vissuto la mia adolescenza a cavallo tra gli anni 80 e 90, ma ogni frame del film mi ricorda tutte le volte che ho visto la pellicola assieme a mio fratello maggiore o ai miei amici. Il film è stato girato nel 1986 con regia del grande regista Tony Scott e prodotto da Jerry Bruckheimer, che ha collaborato anche nel sequel Top Gun: Maverick, in uscita quest'anno nelle sale cinematografiche, pandemia permettendo.
Un film molto intenso e per nulla noioso suddiviso in due parti: una prima parte molto più leggera che coincide con l'addestramento di Maverick (Tom Cruise) nella Top Gun, squadra dei migliori piloti di aerei da guerra, spalleggiato dal suo grande amico Goode, più un fratello che un amico, e la seconda parte più drammatica, intensa, a causa della morte di Goode durante un'esercitazione e l'ingresso in guerra contro la flotta aerea nemica.
L'istruttrice Charlie coprirà un ruolo di supporto allo stato depressivo di Maverick, diventando la sua compagna, e nonostante l'esuberanza e la spericolatezza del pilota, è ritenuto il migliore dell'accademia ma, a causa dell'incidente del suo caro amico, attraversa un periodo buio che vedrà nuovamente la luce proprio in battaglia, nel ricordo del suo amico e co-pilota.
Un film davvero ben fatto con le esercitazioni aeree molto spettacolari che sfrecciano e s'incrociano in traiettorie pazzesche, al limite del possibile. Le scene sono accompagnate da una colonna sonora eccezionale, tra le più belle della filmografia: dalla dolcissima Take My Breath Away, premio Oscar nel 1987 come miglior canzone, a Danger Zone ed al sottofondo solista di chitarra elettrica degli Anthem.
Tantissimi i riconoscimenti ricevuti, tra cui anche 3 premi Oscar per gli effetti sonori ed il montaggio. Io ho visto il film in 4k con un impianto stereo di media qualità e gli aerei sembravano sfrecciare dentro casa mia! Che potenza! La fotografia è ottimale, inquadrature incredibile soprattutto all'interno dell'aereo, le innumerevoli capovolte trasmettono persino un senso di nausea, immagino lo stomaco dei piloti nella realtà...
Top Gun è davvero un'ottima film e v'invito a vederlo, qualora o siate troppo giovani per averlo visto negli anni 80 oppure abbiate qualche tipo di pregiudizio. Ribadisco a me Tom Cruise non piace molto come attore, specialmente nell'ultimo decennio della sua filmografia, ma in questo film, circondato da attori di alto profilo ed una trama piena d'azione, lo reputo tra i migliori.
