Relax with strawberry cake and coffee 🍰☕

This morning started with a nice sprint after a delicious breakfast at the bar code, managed by my friend Vincenzo, a coffee lover and recently started studying pastry to make cakes, biscuits and ice cream with 0 km products and therefore healthier. and genuine compared to the large food distribution. The bar has a small indoor room, not very popular at this time of the year due to pandemic restrictions, and some outdoor tables on the tree-lined square a few meters from the commercial activity.

I consider sitting at the bar table as one of the most relaxing moments of the day, tasting a quality coffee and a brioche or cake that tastes good. Today Vincenzo served me a piece of strawberry pie made in the morning, a soft sponge cake, lightly moistened with lemon juice, and stuffed with strawberry yogurt and tender pieces of strawberry. The different quality of the cake made with his own hands is immediately evident, it is less sweet than the industrial ones, and I can distinguish the flavors of fruit and yogurt and the final taste of lemon juice.

The coffee is not pre-packaged but is ground just before use and this preserves the intense aroma, which is appreciable especially if no sugar is added. Usually I appreciate the addition of a small amount of foam milk, it makes the coffee more docile, especially if you have already drunk more than one before. Drinking a coffee surrounded by tree-lined nature, away from the chaos of traffic is a pleasant habit that I run after whenever I can. Sometimes I carry a book with me and I stop longer than I should to enjoy a few pages, other times I write posts like this, in full inspiration.

Early in the morning there are excellent croissants and hot croissants, even with cereals or vegans, in order to satisfy customers. If you are particularly greedy, Vincenzo makes small ice creams with the classic chocolate and hazelnut flavors, they are really tasty single portions and in great demand, especially in this hottest period. Sometimes Vincenzo uses me as a guinea pig for his culinary experiments and obviously I am very excited to be a chosen taster 😁

Good food is excellent fuel for our body and mind. I draw many inspirations for my posts in these moments and if possible I like to write in these situations. It is not unusual that together with my wife we ​​also enjoy excellent aperitifs on the hottest days, perhaps after a morning spent at the sea and we get up from the table always very satisfied.

Questa mattina è iniziata con un bel sprint dopo una deliziosa colazione al codice a barre, gestita dal mio amico Vincenzo, amante del caffè e da poco iniziato a studiare pasticceria per realizzare torte, biscotti e gelati con prodotti a km 0 e quindi più salutari. e genuino rispetto alla grande distribuzione alimentare. Il bar dispone di una piccola sala interna, poco frequentata in questo periodo dell'anno a causa delle restrizioni pandemiche, e di alcuni tavolini all'aperto sulla piazza alberata a pochi metri dall'attività commerciale.

Considero il sedersi al tavolo del bar come uno dei momenti più rilassanti della giornata, assaporando un caffè di qualità e una brioche o una torta di buon gusto. Oggi Vincenzo mi ha servito un pezzo di torta di fragole fatta al mattino, un morbido pan di spagna, leggermente inumidito con succo di limone, e farcito con yogurt alla fragola e teneri pezzetti di fragola. La diversa qualità della torta fatta con le sue mani è subito evidente, è meno dolce di quelle industriali, e posso distinguere i sapori di frutta e yogurt e il gusto finale del succo di limone.

Il caffè non è preconfezionato ma viene macinato appena prima dell'uso e questo ne preserva l'aroma intenso, apprezzabile soprattutto se non viene aggiunto zucchero. Solitamente apprezzo l'aggiunta di una piccola quantità di schiuma di latte, rende il caffè più docile, soprattutto se ne avete già bevuto più di uno prima. Bere un caffè immerso nella natura alberata, lontano dal caos del traffico è una piacevole abitudine che rincorro ogni volta che posso. A volte porto con me un libro e mi fermo più del dovuto a godermi qualche pagina, altre volte scrivo post come questo, in piena ispirazione.

La mattina presto ci sono ottimi croissant e croissant caldi, anche ai cereali o vegani, per accontentare i clienti. Se siete particolarmente golosi, Vincenzo realizza dei piccoli gelati ai classici gusti cioccolato e nocciola, sono monoporzioni davvero gustose e molto richieste, soprattutto in questo periodo più caldo. A volte Vincenzo mi usa come cavia per i suoi esperimenti culinari e ovviamente sono molto entusiasta di essere un assaggiatore scelto 😁

Il buon cibo è un ottimo carburante per il nostro corpo e la nostra mente. Traggo molte ispirazioni per i miei post in questi momenti e se possibile mi piace scrivere in queste situazioni. Non è raro che insieme a mia moglie ci godiamo anche ottimi aperitivi nelle giornate più calde, magari dopo una mattinata trascorsa al mare e ci alziamo da tavola sempre molto soddisfatti.
