On the shore of the Serra del Corvo lake
Not far from the city of Gravina, nestled among the green and uncontaminated fields of the Murgia area, lies the Serra del Corvo lake, a body of water that extends for about 4 km and marks the border between two regions of southern Italy. , Puglia and Basilicata.
It is a lake of artificial origin, born with the installation of a dam not far from here. The lake is home to a large population of fish, which is why fishermen often take refuge in this natural oasis to spend a day in absolute silence, interrupted by pleasant chirping or a gust of wind.
The lake has created a large ecosystem of fauna and flora which has adapted by virtue of its presence. Access to the lake is marked by a dirt path that widens towards the shore. A stork flies over us not far from us, probably looking for some fish to feed itself or its family.
The day is really good, a warm sun mitigates the cool wind that ripples the surface of the lake. Also wonderful is the expanse of verdant lawn, a soft, fluffy carpet that I would just roll into, if it weren't for the damp ground. Not far away a masseria is visible, here there is certainly no lack of food for animals and I am sure that the resulting products are of excellent quality.
Together with my family, we walked along the shore for a good stretch, its perimeter is much longer than you can imagine and after about a kilometer, we stopped for a short break and a picnic. Better to relax and absorb this spectacle of unspoiled nature.
My son was obviously always with his feet in the water, too enthusiastic about the lake and the small fish that were almost ashore.

Non lontano dalla città di Gravina, immerso tra i prati verdi e incontaminati della Murgia, si trova il lago di Serra del Corvo, specchio d'acqua che si estende per circa 4 km e segna il confine tra due regioni dell'Italia meridionale. , Puglia e Basilicata.
Si tratta di un lago di origine artificiale, nato con l'installazione di una diga poco distante da qui. Il lago ospita un numeroso popolamento di pesci, motivo per cui spesso i pescatori si rifugiano in questa oasi naturale per trascorrere una giornata nel silenzio più assoluto, interrotta da piacevoli cinguettii o da una folata di vento.
Il lago ha creato un vasto ecosistema di fauna e flora che si è adattato in virtù della sua presenza. L'accesso al lago è segnato da un sentiero sterrato che si allarga verso la riva. Una cicogna ci sorvola poco distante, probabilmente alla ricerca di qualche pesce con cui sfamare se stessa o la sua famiglia.
La giornata è davvero bella, un caldo sole mitiga il vento fresco che increspa la superficie del lago. Meravigliosa è anche la distesa di prato verdeggiante, un tappeto soffice e soffice su cui mi arrotolerei semplicemente, se non fosse per il terreno umido. Poco distante è visibile una masseria, qui non manca di certo il cibo per animali e sono sicuro che i prodotti che ne derivano sono di ottima qualità.
Insieme alla mia famiglia abbiamo camminato lungo la riva per un buon tratto, il suo perimetro è molto più lungo di quanto si possa immaginare e dopo circa un chilometro ci siamo fermati per una breve sosta e un picnic. Meglio rilassarsi e assorbire questo spettacolo di natura incontaminata.
Mio figlio ovviamente era sempre con i piedi in acqua, troppo entusiasta del lago e dei pesciolini che stavano quasi a riva.
Una giornata davvero unica immersi nei tesori del nostro territorio.
