A memorable film not only for the plot but also for the tragic accident on the set that cost the life of the lead actor Brandon Lee, son of Bruce, the martial arts expert probably among the strongest ever. Very dark film, there is not a single scene filmed during the day and often they are cramped, dirty and violent places. The plot is very strong and tells of Eric Draven, a rock musician who is resurrected to avenge his death and the rape and murder of his girlfriend.
The environment in which the film develops is a city without hope, where those who respect the laws are victims of violence and transmit a sense of anger and helplessness in how events develop. The director * Alex Proyas * focuses a lot on the psychic violence suffered by the protagonist who, even though he returned from the world of the dead, fails to free himself from the torment of the fatal evening in which he and his girlfriend died.
In my opinion, a fundamental piece of the film is the soundtrack represented by bands such as The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Pantera ... groups that have marked an era of rock history in the 90s and that have lent their songs to make the film even more energetic and hard. Eric's melancholy shines very well into Brandon Lee's face and transforms his despair into great strength.
The Crow deals with another important theme of the afterlife and resurrection, represented here by a crow that has the power to resurrect the dead by tightening a strong bond with the chosen one, his death has the consequence of immediately ending the chosen one. Here the resurrection is temporary and serves to calm the deceased who is unable to rest in the afterlife due to the terrible act of violence suffered and the strong desire for revenge.
The Crow is a violent film, not suitable for minors because there are violent scenes of murders, sex and drugs and although the theme of revenge can be justified, it is not necessarily shared by everyone. Brandon Lee died as a result of a shot from a pistol that had to be loaded with blanks but contained a real bullet that hit the actor in the stomach. The heirs accepted a millionaire compensation in exchange for the truth.

Un film memorabile non solo per la trama ma anche per il tragico incidente sul set costato la vita all'attore protagonista Brandon Lee, figlio di Bruce, l'esperto di arti marziali probabilmente tra i più forti in assoluto. Film molto cupo, non c'è una sola scena girata durante il giorno e spesso sono luoghi angusti, sporchi e violenti. La trama è molto forte e racconta di Eric Draven, un musicista rock resuscitato per vendicare la sua morte e lo stupro e l'omicidio della sua ragazza.
L'ambiente in cui si sviluppa il film è una città senza speranza, dove chi rispetta le leggi è vittima della violenza e trasmette un senso di rabbia e impotenza nello sviluppo degli eventi. Il regista * Alex Proyas * si concentra molto sulla violenza psichica subita dal protagonista che, pur tornato dal mondo dei morti, non riesce a liberarsi dal tormento della fatale serata in cui sono morti lui e la sua ragazza.
Secondo me un pezzo fondamentale del film è la colonna sonora rappresentata da band come The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Pantera ... gruppi che hanno segnato un'epoca della storia del rock negli anni '90 e che hanno prestato le loro canzoni per rendere il film ancora più energico e duro. La malinconia di Eric risplende molto bene sul viso di Brandon Lee e trasforma la sua disperazione in grande forza.
Il Corvo affronta un altro tema importante dell'aldilà e della risurrezione, qui rappresentato da un corvo che ha il potere di resuscitare i morti stringendo un forte legame con il prescelto, la sua morte ha come conseguenza la fine immediata del prescelto. Qui la risurrezione è temporanea e serve a calmare il defunto che non riesce a riposare nell'aldilà a causa del terribile atto di violenza subito e del forte desiderio di vendetta.
Il corvo è un film violento, non adatto a minorenni perché ci sono scene violente di omicidi, sesso e droga e sebbene il tema della vendetta possa essere giustificato, non è necessariamente condiviso da tutti. Brandon Lee è morto a seguito di un colpo di pistola che doveva essere caricata a salve ma conteneva un vero proiettile che ha colpito l'attore allo stomaco. Gli eredi hanno accettato un risarcimento milionario in cambio della verità.
