Beliefs, superstitions, practices, which cure and poison. The link is with nature and its balance. Affected and threatened, the defense mechanisms escape all control. Human, rational.
Domenico de Feudis - Sorrentino's assistant director (not just!) - in his first direction, re-reads Ernesto de Martino's studies on the land of remorse and creates a horror, between dry stone walls, ancient farmhouses and 'sick' olive trees like the men. A good level horror that returns the lesson of the masters of contemporary horror from overseas, declining and combining it with the legends and stories of southern Puglia.

I am extremely happy for the success obtained by the film on the Netflix platform in the top ten for several days especially because I am proud of Domenico, born and raised in my city of Trani and as children we did not live in the same building, sharing our days between games of football and stickers collection.
Domenico moved to Rome when he came of age in order to achieve his dream, or at least try. And where to go to study if not in the Italian capital of cinema? He had to study a lot and do the apprenticeship, working and studying assiduously, earning nothing and often eating the dust.
The first great satisfaction came when he became assistant director of Paolo Sorrentino in the film The great beauty, winning the coveted oscar award in 2014. But Domenico has not mounted his head on the contrary he has continued to work and study and here he is now landing on Netflix, with a potential audience of hundreds of millions of users.
An example certainly of how wanting to achieve one's dream can sometimes have positive implications if they commit themselves to the end, at the cost of suffering many initial disappointments. But that's life, nothing is served on a silver platter. Bravo Domenico 💪, Domenico de Feudis, 2020

Credenze, superstizioni, pratiche, che curano e che avvelenano. Il legame è quello con la natura e i suoi equilibri. Intaccati e minacciati, i meccanismi di difesa fuggono ad ogni controllo. Umano, razionale.
Domenico de Feudis - assistente alla regia di Sorrentino (non da poco!) - alla sua prima regia, rilegge gli studi di Ernesto de Martino sulla terra del rimorso e realizza un horror, tra muretti a secco, antiche masserie e ulivi 'malati' come gli uomini. Un horror di buon livello che restituisce la lezione dei maestri dell'horror contemporaneo d'oltreoceano, declinandola e coniugandola con le leggende e le storie del sud della Puglia.

Sono estremamente contento per il successo ottenuto dal film sulla piattaforma di Netflix nella top ten per diversi giorni soprattutto perché sono fiero di Domenico, nato e cresciuto nella mia città di Trani e da piccoli non abitavamo nello stesso stabile, condividendo le nostre giornate tra partite di calcio e raccolta di figurine.
Domenico si è trasferito a Roma al raggiungimento della maggiore età al fine di raggiungere il suo sogno, o almeno provarci. E dove andare a studiare se non nella capitale italiana del cinema? Ha dovuto studiare molto e fare la gavetta, lavorando e studiando assiduamente, guadagnando nulla e mangiando spesso la polvere.
La prima grande soddisfazione è giunta quando è diventato assistente alla regia di Paolo Sorrentino nel film La grande bellezza, vincendo l'ambito premio oscar nel 2014. Ma Domenico non si è montato la testa anzi h continuato a lavorare e studiare ed eccolo adesso approdare su Netflix, con una platea potenziale di centinaia di milioni di utenti.
Un esempio sicuramente di come il voler raggiungere il proprio sogno può avere a volte risvolti positivi se ci s'impegnano fino in fondo, al costo di subire tante delusioni iniziali. Ma la vita è così, nulla è servito su un piatto d'argento.
