If you’re looking to make money online, the obvious answer would be to create an e-commerce store or write some articles or sell something on Amazon. While those are all viable options, they require effort on your part to actually make the money. What if there was another way? A method where you could make money with little to no effort on your part, yet still earn consistent income over time. Luckily, that’s what passive income is! Here are five ways you can earn passive income online right now!
1) Start an Affiliate Marketing Business
When it comes to earning passive income online, affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways. It’s also one of my biggest sources of revenue these days. And while it’s not technically passive income (you’re actively running affiliate links on your site), if you set up your affiliate links right, once they’re in place you can forget about them and let them run for weeks or months without any additional input from you.
2) Create Niche Websites
Creating niche websites is one of my favorite methods for earning passive income online. It’s relatively easy, and it’s an excellent way to help you learn something new. I’ve always enjoyed writing, so my first niche website was dedicated to showing people how they could start a profitable personal-finance blog using WordPress. As my knowledge in SEO has grown over time, I created several other sites in different niches. So far, these efforts have been relatively successful: most of my niche websites generate a few hundred dollars per month on autopilot. I can do nothing once these sites are set up—they run entirely on their own! Best of all, because I don’t update them daily or even weekly, there’s little work involved when it comes to adding content or SEO—it takes less than 10 minutes each month.
3) Sell Digital Products
An easy way to earn passive income online is by selling digital products like e-books, software, or videos. (Of course, there are other ways to earn passive income; these are just a few of my favorites.) If you’re not super tech-savvy or you just don’t want to deal with fulfillment (shipping out physical goods), try affiliate marketing. Obviously, there is quite a large amount of upfront work, but once it is done, no more work is needed
4) Invest in Cryptocurrencies
Investing in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin has become a popular way to earn passive income on-line. If you’re interested in investing, check out some of these cryptocurrency exchanges where you can buy bitcoin and other virtual currencies. While there is also the chance for dramatic drops in price, there is also the chance for massive amounts of capital appreciation. However, any money earnt is passive as once it is bought, no other work is needed.
5) Invest through Crowdfunding Platforms
While this is a new way to make money, crowdfunding platforms give the public access to venture capital opportunities. This truly has democratized finance while giving everybody a chance to invest for above average returns. While there will be upfront work needed, once you have the money invested only a few minutes a month will be needed to review your investment. Don't expect every investment to make you a fortune, but you never know, there may be an Apple lying in these platforms...
