Flowers Are Men In Greek Mythology Part I
Anemone. Greek mythology linked the red anemone, sometimes called the windflower, to the death of Adonis. This handsome young man was loved by both Persephone, queen of the underworld, and Aphrodite, goddess of love. Adonis enjoyed hunting, and one day when he was out hunting alone, he wounded a fierce boar, which stabbed him with its tusks. Aphrodite heard the cries of her lover and arrived to see Adonis bleeding to death. Red anemones sprang from the earth where the drops of Adonis's blood fell. In another version of the story, the anemones were white before the death of Adonis, whose blood turned them red.
Christians later adopted the symbolism of the anemone. For them its red represented the blood shed by Jesus Christ on the cross. Anemones sometimes appear in paintings of the Crucifixion.
Carnation. Composed of tightly packed, fringed petals of white, yellow, pink, or red, carnations have many different meanings. To the Indians of Mexico, they are the "flowers of the dead," and their fragrant blooms are piled around corpses being prepared for burial. For the Koreans, three carnations placed on top of the head are a form of divination. The flower that withers first indicates which phase of the person's life will contain suffering and hardship. To the Flemish people of Europe, red carnations symbolized love, and a kind of carnation called a pink was traditionally associated with weddings.

Hyacinth. The Greek myth of Hyacinthus and Apollo tells of the origin of the hyacinth, a member of the lily family. Hyacinthus, a beautiful young man of Sparta * , was loved by the sun god Apollo. One day the two were amusing themselves throwing a discus when the discus struck Hyacinthus and killed him. Some accounts say that Zephyrus, the god of the west wind, directed the discus out of jealousy because he also loved Hyacinthus.

While Apollo was deep in grief, mourning the loss of his companion, a splendid new flower rose out of the bloodstained earth where the young man had died. Apollo named it the hyacinth and ordered that a three-day festival, the Hyacinthia, be held in Sparta every year to honor his friend.
Osiris or Jesus, the First Messiah
Among the ruins of ancient Egypt are the records of a bearded, long-haired Savior, whose resurrection from the dead influenced generations of followers to believe in life after death.
He was called “Shepherd,” “King of Kings,” and “Lord of Lords,” and he was depicted in art for thousands of years with the ankh cross of eternal life.
The first King of Egypt, he was recorded in myth as the recurring “Phoenix” bird who appears perennially in the East to herald each new age. As Judge of the dead on the Day of Judgment — the position Christ later held — he enforced the sacred law.
Every Pharaoh dressed in his image (a bearded shepherd with long hair—identical to Christ) while sitting on his throne. The deceased were entombed under his likeness to gain immortality through him. Does this very ancient and very Christ-like Egyptian king hold the key to the world’s future?
The mysterious “First Coming” of Christ in Egypt. Like Jesus, the more ancient god “Osiris” (Asar) was a bearded shepherd with long hair, carrying a cross signifying “life” after death.
For thousands of years before Christianity, the ancient Egyptians transformed the corpses of their beloved deceased into the image of a bearded shepherd with long hair—the same image we associate with Christ. The reason they did this, according to Egyptologists, is so they could follow in his resurrection from the dead!
The Egyptian name of this Christ-like resurrected Savior whom the Egyptians sought to follow was Asar (“Osiris” in Greek) and the extent and ramifications of his parallels to the later “Christ” figure of history have not yet been truly grasped by scholars or Egyptologists.
Just look at the images below; note the distinctly “Christ-like” features on the anthropomorphic coffins of both King Tut and King Psusennes, two well-known pharaohs. Both of their coffins bear the same exact image, namely a bearded shepherd with long hair — the same image attributed to Christ later in history!

The Egyptian headdress (called the nemes headdress) clearly symbolizes long hair, as it was tied into a ponytail in the back of the head, as is often done with long hair:

The beard on the Egyptian chin is reminiscent of the beard of Christ. Most pictures portray Christ as bearded.
Egyptian coffins also display a shepherd’s staff in the left hand; the staff later became a Christian symbol. Jesus described himself as the “Good Shepherd” of the human flock, and portraits of Christ show him holding the shepherd’s staff.
The shepherd’s staff was depicted in the hands of Osiris in Egyptian artwork, thousands of years earlier. In literature his epithets Sa and Asar-Sa mean “Shepherd” and “Osiris the Shepherd.”
It should also be noted that Christ is described in the gospels as using the flail to chase money-changers from the temple.
In Egypt, the flail was held in the opposite hand of the crook, the two forming a balanced cross at the chest:
For thousands of years countless Egyptian Pharaohs went to their graves wearing the headdress and beard, and holding the shepherd’s staff. They were transforming their outward appearance into the image of Osiris to follow his resurrection.
Religion of Resurrection
E.A. Wallis Budge (1857 – 1934), one of the world’s most renowned Egyptologists, said:
“The central figure of the ancient Egyptian Religion was Osiris, and the chief fundamentals of his cult were the belief in his divinity, death, resurrection, and absolute control of the destinies of the bodies and souls of men. The central point of each Osirian’s Religion was his hope of resurrection in a transformed body and of immortality, which could only be realized by him through the death and resurrection of Osiris.” — E.A. Early in Egyptian history it was a religious custom to bury the dead kings in the image of Osiris. Later the upper classes and eventually the common masses were given an Osirian burial.

Henri Frankfort, a former professor of Preclassical Antiquity at the University of London, explained:
“It may be well to emphasize that the identification of the dead with Osiris was a means to an end, that is, to reach resurrection in the Hereafter.” — Henri Frankfort, Kingship and the Gods
Interestingly, the name “Osiris” (Ausar) in hieroglyphics contains the silhouette of a bearded man with long hair — the same exact image engraved on the anthropomorphic coffins!

What is the meaning of this fascinating riddle? Looking at this ancient Egyptian funerary custom through the more modern eyes of our Christian past it almost seems as if Osiris was a kind of “First Coming” of Christ on earth.
The Egyptians were clearly the first Christians in the sense that they believed in “life” after death by following in the footsteps of their resurrected Savior.
Incredibly, this “life” after death was expressed by the ankh cross, another symbol with a significant counterpart in Christianity!
Cross of Life
The ankh was the most revered and prolific emblem in Egypt. It was inscribed on tombs and temples and it was depicted in the hands of gods, kings, priests, viziers, ordinary citizens, and their children. No one knows its origins.
Its meaning of “life” after death is strikingly similar to the meaning of Christ’s crucifix, also symbolic of “life” after death.
(Jesus’ Doctrine of Eternal Life is a recurring theme in the New Testament. In John 11:25 Jesus says: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”)
It should be noted that symbolists see in the ankh the outline of a crucified man: the circle represents his head, the horizontal line his two arms, and the vertical line his legs nailed to the cross as one.
Day of Judgment
After his resurrection Osiris became judge of the souls of the dead. In this position he held the power to grant life in heaven to those who behaved righteously on earth.

Wallis Budge explained:
“the belief that Osiris was the impartial judge of men’s deeds and words, who rewarded the righteous, and punished the wicked, and ruled over a heaven which contained only sinless beings, and that he possessed the power to do these things because he had lived on earth, and suffered death, and risen from the dead, is as old as dynastic civilization in Egypt…” — Wallis Budge, Osiris and the Egyptian Resurrection
The Day of Judgment is a central tenet of the Christian religion. The souls of the deceased shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Those who have followed his teachings during their lives shall be deemed righteous and be admitted to heaven. II Corinthians 5:10 says:
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat [emphasis added] of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
Depictions of Christ and Osiris as judge are remarkably similar. Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment has many common features to the Day of Judgment etched on Egyptian papyri and carved on tomb walls.

In the Egyptian ceremony the heart of the deceased, symbolic of his virtue, moral character, and earthly deeds, was laid on a set of scales and weighed against a single feather representing maat, the divine law. If the scales balanced, the deceased was allowed to pass into heaven.
As judge, Osiris was always portrayed in the seated position, a posture that parallels the New Testament’s descriptions of the judgment seat of Christ.
What are we to make of these striking similarities? Did Christian scholars simply “borrow” images and symbols of Osiris from the Egyptian religion? Or does this evidence reveal a profound and hitherto undiscovered recurring “Messianic Phenomenon” that has been affecting the course of human civilization?
By uncovering the similarities common to the Egyptian and Christian religions are we, in fact, re-discovering the sacred blueprints of an ancient Messianic tradition that has been attempting to accelerate man’s cultural and spiritual development since the beginning of history?
Myth vs. Fact
No one knows the origin of the Osiris story. The first written accounts of Osiris come down to us from sources outside Egypt by way of ancient historians such as Diodorus Siculus (1st C. BC), Herodotus (5th C. BC), and Plutarch (1st C. AD).
These classical writers describe Osiris as a semi-divine king who abolished cannibalism, taught men and women to live according to the law of maat, improved their morality, and, filled with love for mankind, set out on a quest to travel the world and bring the benefits of civilization to other cultures.
Their commentary continues with mythological descriptions of the murder of Osiris by a jealous brother named Seth; his rebirth, accomplished by the magic of his sister/wife, Isis; and his second death, caused again by Seth, who dismembered his body and scattered the pieces up and down the Nile.
After the utter destruction of Osiris his son, Horus, defeats Seth in an epochal battle thereby vindicating his murdered father.
The myth of Osiris seems to take place half in our world and half in an enchanted world of magic and make-believe. This element of fiction is responsible, in part, for the misconception that Osiris was a fictional being. The facts left among the ruins of ancient Egypt tell an entirely different story.
The Osirian religion sparked a renaissance among the ancient Nile-dwellers the effects of which impacted every facet of their primitive society.
It instilled in them a high moral code, a sense of good and evil, and an inclination toward brotherly love and admiration unprecedented in human history and unparalleled by any other ancient nation.
It also fostered a highly advanced philosophy. Osiris worshippers realized the human body was neither perfect nor permanent.
But they were also convinced death was not the end of their being. There was an eternal, spiritual element within them that would rise – resurrect – from the body and exist in a higher spiritual realm, provided their behavior was in accordance with a high moral code (maat).
Consequently, they never became too attached to the things of this world. This is precisely the same philosophy expressed in the true religion of Christianity (i.e., not the Church’s version), sparked by the life, death, and resurrection of the Christian Savior.
Osiris The Phoenix
The Egyptians likened the spirit of Osiris to a heavenly bird, much like Christianity portrays the soul of Jesus as a white and shining dove. The Egyptians called the bird Benu, the Greeks called it the Phoenix.
According to legend this magnificent creature miraculously appears in the eastern sky during fixed points in history to announce the start of a new world age. When it appears the bird mysteriously sets itself ablaze and is suddenly consumed by fire and ashes. However, it arises triumphantly from death renewed and rejuvenated.
Scholars unanimously believe the phoenix was a symbol of Osiris. German Philologist Adolf Erman explained “the soul of Osiris… dwells in the bird Benu, the phoenix.” 4
A passage from the Coffin Texts supports this observation:
“I am that great Phoenix which is in On. Who is he? He is Osiris. The supervisor of what exists. Who is he? He is Osiris.” — Egyptian Coffin Texts, R.O. Faulkner Translation
The attributes of Osiris as phoenix are the same attributes associated with the Christian Messiah. Both the phoenix and the Messiah appear in the eastern sky (the star of Bethlehem arose in the east heralding the newborn King).
Both rise from the dead. Both embody the theme of life after death through resurrection. Both herald the star of new ages.
(Christ’s appearance initiated the current age: BC/AD.) Finally, and perhaps most importantly, both are associated with the promise of a destined re-appearance (Christians are currently expecting Christ’s re-appearance, i.e., the Doctrine of the Second Coming).
What is the significance behind the parallels common to the phoenix and the Messiah? Does the phoenix myth enshrine wisdom of the appearances of a recurring Savior in human history, a Savior whose life, death, and resurrection was purposely designed to accelerate the development of human culture?
Is there a powerful and well-guarded tradition expressed in the myth of Egypt’s enigmatic phoenix? A tradition that is now on the verge of being re-discovered?
The “FIRST TIME” of Osiris
The Egyptians associated the first appearance of the phoenix with a golden age in their founding history known as Zep Tepi, the “First Time.”
They were convinced the foundations of their civilization were established during this remote and glorious epoch. R. T. Rundle Clark, former professor of Egyptology at Manchester University, commented on the ancients conception of the First Time:
“Anything whose existence or authority had to be justified or explained must be referred to the ‘First Time.’ This was true for natural phenomena, rituals, royal insignia, the plans of temples, magical or medical formulae, the hieroglyphic system of writing, the calendar – the whole paraphernalia of the civilization…All that was good or efficacious was established on the principles laid down in the “First Time” – which was, therefore, a golden age of absolute perfection…” — R. The First Time seems to have been the period during which Osiris reigned as foremost king of Egypt. It was during this era that he established law (maat) and initiated worship of Ra, Egypt’s monotheistic God. Rundle Clark explained:
“The reign of Osiris was a golden age, the model for subsequent generations.” — R. T. Rundle Clark, Myth and Symbol in Ancient Egypt
Maat and monotheism, the “model for subsequent generations” set forth by Osiris, was the driving force behind Egyptian culture for thousands of years.
What exactly does the phrase “the First Time” mean? Could it possibly be an arcane reference to the first appearance – the First Coming – of the Christian Savior on earth? Was there a Messianic guiding force behind the rise of Egyptian culture? — The same Messianic guiding force that has inaugurated the empire of Christendom?
Was the “First Time” an era during which an ancient Messianic tradition was established? —A tradition aimed at revealing cultural wisdom, law, and spiritual truth to mankind during different historical epochs?
Is the Third Time almost upon us again? Is the Savior machine about to activate once again, perhaps for the third and final time?

1,500-Year-Old Bible is Shattering Christianity: Judas Was Crucified and Jesus Was One of the Prophets.
This is the enigmatic 1500-year-old Bible that is threatening the Vatican's beliefs, it has the power to change history and shatter Christianity.
The museum of Ankara, Turkey, is home to a mysterious 1500 year old bible that according to many could change the way we look at religion and the Vatican seems to be threatened.
This bible comprises the mysterious texts called the apocryphal gospels, including the Gospel of Barnabas and is a very controversial piece according to many historians.
The Gospel of Barnabas states the following regarding Jesus’ deity:
“I confess before heaven, and call to witness everything that dwells upon the earth, that I am a stranger to all that men have said of me, to with, that I am more than man. For I am a man, born of a woman, subject to the judgment of God; that live here like as other men, subject to the common miseries.” — Gospel of Barnabas, 94:1.
Through its leather leaves blackened over the centuries, there are texts, carved with golden letters, written in Aramaic which differ considerably from the canonical Gospels of the Bible, established at the Council of Nicea.
Jesus is described as one of the prophets, ignoring His divine character. According to the Gospel of Barnabas, Jesus would not have been the one who was crucified, but Judas Iscariot, contradicting the resurrection that arises from the Vatican Gospels.
This is one of the foundations of Christianity as the entire Christian belief is based on the death of Jesus, the savior of our sins and his resurrection is the hope for eternal life.
So, which one is true? The two texts provide completely different point of views and it basically depends on your belief towards which one you incline more.
Moreover, the text says that Jesus would have risen to heaven alive and that Paul would have been the Biblical traitor.
Mysteriously, the enigmatic document reveals a prophecy of Jesus, about the coming of Muhammad, founder of Islam, and a prediction of the arrival of the last Messiah which has still not occurred.
In the Gospel of Barnabas, Jesus is depicted as denying his deity, but on the other hand apostle John writes of Jesus as being the son of God the almighty, creator of the world:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory – John 1:1-3, 14.
It is important to mention that the Gospel of Barnabas is not to be confused with the Acts of Barnabas, which is a fifth century apocryphal work directed to the church of Cyprus.
The Lost City of Biringan

While in Samar, if you are travelling between the towns of Gandara, Tarangnan, and Pagsanhan, you may just find yourself transported to another world. It is called Biringan City, apparently known to the locals, but a mystery for those trying to find it. Is this city truly invisible, or could it be a portal to the realm of engkanto?
There is no shortage of mythical places in this world. If we look back through history, they include (among others) the esoteric Agartha at the earth’s core, Atlantis, El Dorado, the Greek northland of Hyperborea, Shangri-La, Thule – the list just goes on and on. One of the more recent entries belongs to the Philippines. Although few have seen it, their accounts are so convincing that it has sparked the imagination of explorers and artists from all over the world.
Like many hidden cities, there are stories from the locals which may only be spoken about in hushed whispers, for fear of retribution from inhabitants of the mythical metropolis. You see, in the Philippines, such a place could only be inhabited by the spirits of ancient times. Regardless of Catholicism being spread throughout the Philippines, early animist beliefs still have a firm hold on the people. Not as ignorant superstitions, but in understanding nature, the land, and our health, by connecting all that surrounds us. It may seem like mumbo-jumbo to a “sophisticated” mind, but science is very close to explaining how the energy of everything (including our soul) is connected.
Those who have seen Biringan have compared it to the likes of New York or Hong Kong. However, instead of skyscrapers, it has massive cathedral type buildings with an elegance that has yet to be produced with modern architecture. Some of the visual accounts differ, but there is one similarity between them all – those drawn to the city were lured through a trance or feeling possessed.
Bus drivers and truck drivers from around the area have blamed their being lost to the Biringan City legends. It is said that engkanto who have been visiting surrounding cities will sometimes enter the mind of the drivers and have them deviate from their intended path. When the driver regains control, they find themselves lost in the area where Biringan is purported to exist.
Fishermen who disappear are sometimes thought to have been lured to the ethereal city of Biringan. If food from the sea is scarce, a fisherman may suddenly find himself in calm seas with an abundance of aquatic life. In an attempt to catch as much as possible, he may not realize he is floating in the skies of Biringan and no longer in the sea.
Businessmen who vanish from the area are also suspected to have been lured to Biringan City. Elementals will pose as entrepreneurs with irresistible deals and investments. It is said when a business person enters into a deal with an engkanto, they are never seen again.

One of the most troubling accounts of those being lured to the invisible city, are when people are thought to be possessed. As with other areas in the Philippines, locals believe that an unnatural spirit has taken control of the body – generally affecting a child or young adult. Even though Catholic priests are often enlisted for aid, make no mistake, dark animist beings are said to be the ones taking control of the body – spirits that existed long before the Spanish arrived with their demons. This is also why many locals will revert to traditional healing from Babaylans when such an occurrence happens.
Inhabitants of Biringan City
The legends of Biringan City take a chilling turn when the inhabitants are described. It is believed that everything they wear or eat is black. They look very similar to the local residents except they have no philtrum on their upper lip (the vertical groove between the base of the nose and the border of the upper lip). This is also how aswang are described in the Visayas – the ghoulish being that feeds on unborn babies and the filth from the ill and dying.
What further adds to the dark aura of the ethereal city are the other beliefs that coincide with those of the mythical beings of the Philippines. For instance, when there is a sudden unexplained death, it is believed that an engkanto has taken a fancy to that person and has abducted them into the realm of Biringan. Left behind is a lifeless body. This is not unlike the stories of the Batibat, or Duwende whose tales are also used to explain such incidents. It has also been rumoured that the body left behind is not actually the body of the abductee, but instead a banana tree log, or stump, with a spell cast to make it appear like the body. This is similar to the folktales of the Bal-Bal and Aswang, who also partake in such an activity.
It leaves me to hypothetically question if all mythical beings live in such a place. This would undoubtedly be in tune with the mythical places of other folklore and mythology. Are the dark spirits in Philippine Folklore the offspring of Biringan engkanto and their mortal abductees? Or perhaps the invisible city was built as a safe haven for the engkanto after the Spanish arrived and the natives were forced (or convinced) to abandoned their beliefs for a monotheistic God.
The existence and exact location of Biringan City may never be known, but one thing is certain, the accounts of those who claim to know of it have a similarity which can’t be denied. The ties that Biringan shares with traditional Philippine Folklore is also uncanny. Regardless of your personal beliefs in the unknown, Biringan is definitely one of those folk stories which can’t be brushed off as a simple urban legend. If it doesn’t cross your thoughts while you’re awake, it will certainly visit your imagination while you sleep.
Halloween is not as innocent as many people think
It’s a sacred day for those who practice witchcraft. Satanism and witchcraft go hand in hand.
Some common practices that are still happening today:
- Satanists have meetings
- Witches are using Ouija board to summon demons
- They offer human sacrifices
- Divination and fortune-telling
- Casting spells
- Voodoo
- Mediums and necromancers contacting the dead
- Drinking blood
These practices are not new. It’s been going on for ages, but it became unacceptable to the public so they have been doing it secretly ever since.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12
When you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations.
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,
or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.
for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.
Even though God through Moses warned about these practices they never stopped doing these abominations. In the last days that we’re living in it’s happening more than ever, all over the world. All kinds of people are engaging in these practices. From the average person to the rich and influential elite. This world is run by Satanists and the devil is pulling the strings. They control politics, banks, the entertainment industry, poisoning our foods and water, and are banning God out of schools and out of society and are flooding it with the evolution lie. Godlessness and sin is growing rampant all by design.
The Bible teaches that satan was cast out of heaven and took a third of the angels with him. Those thousands of demons are wandering all over the earth for ages. The devil and his army are taking their job serious and are waging war against God, and they’re preparing the way for the arrival of the antichrist. The devil doesn’t sleep!
The origin of Halloween is evil. The ancient Celts that lived from 750 BC to 12 BC had blood drinking priest called Druids. Those priests sacrificed living humans as burnt offerings to the demon Samhain on the 31st.
The priests would go from house to house demanding treats, so that those people from that house would not be harmed. It was important to offer something to those demonic spirits in the villages, cuz they could cause all kinds of diseases and death to their families and their animals. So they left them little treats to appease them.
Later those treats weren't enough, and they began to demand animal sacrifices, so the demons would not wreak havoc in the villages. And later animals were not enough and they had to offer human sacrifices.
Those priests would dress up, and paint their faces and walk around in ghoulish clothing, and go to people's homes, knock on their door and demand that on that night a virgin of that family had to be offered as a sacrifice.
They would leave behind a little Jack O'Lantern, with a ghoulish carving in the face, as a sign that they would be back at midnight to get the virgin, otherwise the whole family would die.
This is what people are partaking when they celebrate Halloween. There is not a single Christian that wants to celebrate Ramadan or a sacred day for Hindus. But for Halloween some make an exception. How has the devil deceived the world that parents even let their children partake in this sacred day for Satanists! The devil is a liar.

Abs-cbn is owned by LOPEZ CLAN..Who is LOPEZ? LOPEZ was one of the powerful OLIGARKO who controlled the PHILIPPINES ... they owned many companies, one of which was MERALCO ... during the PRES. DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL they are the reason for the fall of the president they spread various black propaganda until it finally collapsed..And during the time of PRES. MARCOS for the knowledge of all MARCOS and LOPEZ are in contact..but the unexpected incident in the TAX issue started the dispute .. Pres. Marcos said that 40% of the tax will go to the government and LOPEZ does not agree, LOPEZ is only fighting for 15% due to the fact that they have too many companies owned ... the MRCOS-LOPEZ dispute started, the LOPEZ of various BLACK PROPAGANDA in MEDIA against MARCOS and this caused MARCOS to shut down ABS-CBN..But 1 day a company owned by LOPEZ threatened MERALCO..and they asked for help from the GOVERNMENT .. the government rescued MERALCO..but MACOY did not know that the LOPEZs had a plan to overthrow the GOVERNMENT so they conspired with NINOY and CORY..When they succeeded and CORY sat down as PRES. If you have one of their Internet-connected smart TVs, you can turn on a voice command feature that saves you the trouble of finding the remote, pushing buttons and scrolling through menus. But making that feature work requires the television to listen to everything you say. And what you say isn't just processed by the television; it may be forwarded over the Internet for remote processing.
It's literally Orwellian.
This discovery surprised people, but it shouldn't have. The things around us are increasingly computerized, and increasingly connected to the Internet. And most of them are listening.
Our smartphones and computers, of course, listen to us when we're making audio and video calls. But the microphones are always there, and there are ways a häçker, government or clever company can turn those microphones on without our knowledge.
Sometimes we turn them on ourselves. If we have an iPhone, the voice-processing system Siri listens to us, but only when we push the iPhone's button. Like Samsung, iPhones with the "Hey Siri" feature enabled listen all the time. So do Android devices with the "OK Google" feature enabled, and so does an Amazon voice-activated system called Echo. Facebook has the ability to turn your smartphone's microphone on when you're using the app.
Even if you don't speak, our computers are paying attention. Gmail "listens" to everything you write, and shows you advertising based on it. It might feel as if you're never alone. Facebook does the same with everything you write on that platform, and even listens to the things you type but don't post. Skype doesn't listen -- we think -- but as ‘Der Spiegel’ notes, data from the service "has been accessible to the NSA's snoops" since 2011.
So the NSA certainly listens. It listens directly, and it listens to all these companies listening to you. So do other countries like Russia and China, which we really don't want listening so closely to their citizens.
It's not just the devices that listen; most of this data is transmitted over the Internet.
Samsung sends it to what was referred to as a "third party" in its policy statement. It later revealed that third party to be a company you've never heard of -- Nuance -- that turns the voice into text for it. Samsung promises that the data is erased immediately. Most of the other companies that are listening promise no such thing and, in fact, save your data for a long time.
Governments, of course, save it, too.
This data is a treasure trove for criminals, as we are learning again and again as tens and hundreds of millions of customer records are repeatedly stolen.
Some time ago, it was reported that häçkers had accessed the personal records of some 80 million Anthem Health customers and others.
Last year, it was Home Depot, JP Morgan, Sony and many others. Do we think Nuance's security is better than any of these companies?
I sure don't.
At some level, we're consenting to all this listening. A single sentence in Samsung's 1,500-word privacy policy, the one most of us don't read, stated: "Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition."
Other services could easily come with a similar warning: Be aware that your e-mail provider knows what you're saying to your colleagues and friends and be aware that your cell phone knows where you sleep and whom you're sleeping with -- assuming that you both have smartphones, that is.
The Internet of Things is full of listeners. Newer cars contain computers that record speed, steering wheel position, pedal pressure, even tire pressure -- and insurance companies want to listen. And, of course, your cell phone records your precise location at all times you have it on -- and possibly even when you turn it off. If you have a smart thermostat, it records your house's temperature, humidity, ambient light and any nearby movement. Any fitness tracker you're wearing records your movements and some vital signs; so do many computerized medical devices. Add security cameras and recorders, drones and other surveillance airplanes, and we're being watched, tracked, measured and listened to almost all the time.
It's the age of ubiquitous surveillance, fueled by both Internet companies and governments.
And because it's largely happening in the background, we're not really aware of it.
This has to change.
We need to regulate the listening: both what is being collected and how it's being used. But that won't happen until we know the full extent of surveillance: who's listening and what they're doing with it. Samsung buried its listening details in its privacy policy -- they have since amended it to be clearer -- and we're only having this discussion because a reporter stumbled upon it.
We need more explicit conversation about the value of being able to speak freely in our living rooms without our televisions listening, or having e-mail conversations without Google or the government listening.
Privacy is a prerequisite for free expression, and losing that would be an enormous blow to our society.

For me, the size of the crowded area is almost squatter area (But not really crowded). I remember several times I was tripped on the road and caught up with things. But since Duterte became president, everything has changed in our area. The former pure addict who was lying on the road and tripping passers-by is gone. During Duterte's first month, some addicts were immediately knocked down in our area, including drug pushers. Yes, I know they are also human beings, they have the right to live, but if you see how much cancer they have in our area, you yourself will say that Tang Ina should die here with too much torture. Now there are only a few addicts in the area and I can see that they have changed, they rarely sleep at night, I can no longer hear about snatching in our area.
