For gadget freaks, beware! According to recent research, cell phones have more bacteria than a toilet seat.

Dailymail.co.uk website writes, a new study found that there are up to 10 times the amount of bacteria that can cause nausea and stomach problems on cellphones than those found in toilets.

According to researchers at the University of Arizona, cell phones are frequently touched between people and spread bacteria. The phone is also never cleaned which means germs will continue to grow.

Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona, said during the experiment he had discovered that bacteria could transfer to cell phones because they were so close to their hands and mouth.

As we know, cell phones are electronic items that are rarely cleaned. Cell phones are also not part of the daily cleaning routine. This is what causes bacteria to gather.

According to previous research, researchers have also found other items that are considered clean, but actually contain a lot of bacteria. British scientists found that ATM machines contained pseudomonads and bacillus, bacteria known to cause diarrheal disease, in equal numbers found in public toilets.

Not only that, previous research also found computer keyboards and remote controls are also five times dirtier than toilet seats, which contain toxic bacteria such as E.coli, coliform, staphylococcus aureus and enterobacteria that are harmful to human health.
