Agia Anna Beach is a beach for the 'free spirits'.
The beach is located under the famous monastery of Hozoviotissa. From the parking you walk about 25 minutes down over a rocky path to reach this unique beach covered with pebbles and big rocks.
You will find here one of the 'deepest' blue, clear waters you have ever seen in your life! For this reason this beach was one of the main scenes in the 1988 movie 'Le Grand Bleu' (The Big Blue) of the French director Luc Besson.
As I said above, this is a beach for the 'real nature' lovers so be aware that there is no accommodation at all. If there is anything you might need (drink, food, bed or umbrella) make sure you take it all with you!
Also return back 'in time' to the parking as the sun sets very rapidly here on the east side of the island. I made the mistake to stay/enjoy for too long and found myself in total darkness on the rocky path. I was very happy that my cell phone was equipped with a flash light. Also the wind kicks in very heavy. The howling sound made it a very scary moment (for my wife).
