'Akrotiri Lombardy' beach is a very cosy, sandy beach in the small village of Agia Marina, about 28 km. away from the city center of Athens (Syntagma square).

This place is easy approachable as it is directly next to the main road, Sounio Avenue (Λεωφόρου Αθηνών-Σουνίου), that connects Athens with Sounio (the most southern tip of Attica).

It has a small parking which has room to house about 30 - 40 cars. If you don't find a spot here, be happy, you can always park your car next to the road.

From the parking, follow the path (on your right hand side) to find this beautiful L-shaped beach.

The beach (as of June 2020) has attracted already a lot of people. In my opinion too much, overcrowded! I am not sure you can practice 'Social Distancing' and keep 'COVID-19' regulations here.

This place is very loved by the Athenians as it has everything one expects: very soft sand, cool waters and a small island opposite to practice some snorkeling (initiation) to please the kids. With a diving mask they will play 'hide and seek' with the small colorful fish, all day long.

Except for an 'improvisatory' canteen, this beach has no accommodation whatsoever. So if there is anything you might need (drink, food, bed or umbrella) take it all with you!

Around the corner, in the second leg of this L-shaped beach, the same image here: a lot of people. This side of the beach has one big tree offering some shade during the hotness of the day.

As the waters are also shallow, you will find a lot of families with smaller children here.

All in all, except for the overcrowd, I LOVE this place.
