GMA 7 actress Jennylyn Mercado called on Senator Ronald dela Rosa to "lead by example" following his "advise" for displaced ABS-CBN workers to just find a new job after the network was denied a new franchise.
In a tweet posted on Wednesday, July 15, Jennylyn shared a graphic that highlighted Dela Rosa's "advise" to ABS-CBN workers as the House deliberated their franchise renewal.
The House committee on legislative franchises eventually rejected their application for a new franchise. (READ: Dela Rosa's advice to ABS-CBN workers: 'Hanap ng ibang trabaho para mabuhay')
“Hanap ng ibang trabaho para sa mabuhay at magsumikap. May ibang paraan pa naman siguro para mabuhay tayo (Just find a new job to survive. There are probably other ways to find livelihood)," Dela Rosa said in a July 9 interview with reporters. The House committee junked a new ABS-CBN franchise the day after, on July 10.
"Sabi nga nila 'to lead by example. Baka naman gusto niyo pong mauna (Maybe you'd want to go first)," Jennylyn wrote.
