8M BANGUS FRY AWARDED TO BATAAN
In simultaneous activities conducted at the crack of dawn, September 25, the municipalities of Abucay, Hermosa and Orani received almost 8 million bangus fry through the initiative of DA-BFAR Central Office to reinforce the Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Program.
Central Luzon will be receiving a more than 100 million bangus fry allocation to be distributed in the provinces where the food fish production system proved to be the most vulnerable to the impacts of the ecq. Through this program, DA-BFAR aims to help the fish growers to recover from the threat before it leads to a serious fish supply shortage in the region.
PFO Romina Yutuc together with provincial and technical staff worked closely with the FPSSD Bangus Fry Distribution Team, FMRED Law Enforcement and regional administrative staff in a sleepless, tedious and meticulous process beginning with the arrival to the counting, down to the distribution of the bangus fry to guarantee that only the best quality service and supply reaches the beneficiaries.
RD Wilfredo Cruz was in the center of all the action, hopping from one municipality to the other, to ensure the success of the endeavor. Local government officials provided much-needed support; Mayor Antonio Joseph Inton and MA Tomas Sotto of Hermosa, MA Erano Marabe with Ellorence Nisay in Abucay, the Office of Congress Woman Geraldine Roman represented by Ruperto Saliva Jr. and Edmund Castaneda and the OPA led by PA Engr.
