The Effects of Body Shaming As I watched the Pinoy Big Brother, one episode of it left an impression on me. It was the story of Alexa Ilacad who is diagnosed to have body dysmorphic order. To those who haven't seen the show let me tell you brief details of her experience. Alexa told Big Brother that she sees herself differently because of his body. Every time she sees her reflection in a mirror, she felt sad because she did not want the person she sees. She also said that one time he did not eat for four days. To add more to her insecurities, someone told her that the reason why she has not yet had her breakthrough is that she's fat. That's why whenever she finished her meal she always check her tummy because she is worried about her appearance. This kind of thing is mostly overlooked by many or seen as a petty feeling. Truth to be told, the majority of the people once experienced this phase in life where we are bothered and worried about our appearance, especially our body. The world now is influenced by the things we see on social media. Leaving a comment and message is such an easy task to do. However, hard to erase in your mind once you read them. Pictures and videos of people with their gorgeous body made our confidence deflated. Then, we will now tend to hate our appearance and worst our very own existence. It is so sad that some people shame others even though this world is meant to uplift and unite everyone. Also, the social media platforms with its influencer aim to inspire you not to be hard on yourself. So, it's okay to pursue a certain body goal with your limitations and by knowing what is healthy for you. But if it in the level where it is kinda an obsession and it drains you then it needs to be addressed. Therfore, the thing about Alexa Ilacad must be dealt with properly with care and support. So, everyone can face this visible illness that we thought we didn't have. Each of us must know that we are unique and wonderful individuals. That it's okay to express what we feel. But not to the extent that we are going to dislike what we have. As they said, we all have different body types and distinct identities. The only way we can do and cliche may it sound is to embrace it. There is nothing more beautiful and sexy than self-love. Do not wait for others to compliment you or do not listen to their toxic words. I know it's hard to ignore but do yourself a favor. You can do it slowly, step by step, or one at a time because throughout that process you will discover more incredible things about yourself. Well, I cannot deny that I do care a lot about how I look because a day cannot pass without me looking five times or more in the mirror. It's like it became a habit but a good one. Because when I am looking at myself, reflections of that day will pop up, what I did for that day or what will I do the next day and it is also my way of giving myself affirmations. To be honest, I do also have bad days where I do not like what I see but it's part of learning and growing— part of life. Have a blessed and productive Tuesday, everyone! :>

A Quick Escapade November 1, 2021. Yes, it is All Soul's Day. We have agreed that we will have a celebration that day, where all of the members of my family are available. Also, that day is between my birthday and my little brother's 9th birthday. In addition, it was not allowed to go to the cemetery which by the way a chance to gather the whole family so it was another reason why we chose that date. So, we decided to rent a private resort for one night where everyone can relax and enjoy. We arrived there at noon. Then, we had our lunch. We just prepared grilled foods such as pork, tilapia, squid, and milkfish (bangus). For vegetables, we had boiled eggplant and okra. My mother also ordered fried chicken for the children. We ate in banana leaves with bare hands. It was a simple and fun-filled lunch. After we fill our stomachs, the kids quickly jump to the pool. While the elders and adults played bingo cards for fun since the heat can burn you when you swim at that time. At 4 in the afternoon, we had our snacks or merienda. My mother made some cassava cake, gelatin, and egg sandwiches. She also ordered Pancit Malabon. My mother prepared so much that we would not have time to starve. Hahahaha. Before we dive into the pool, we take first some photos to have a souvenir of the moment. Then, a couple of minutes, my friends arrived since I did not invite them on my birthday. We ate together and shared updates on our life. Guess what? I am going to be a Godmother (ninang) to my friend's child. I am so excited to meet the boy in her tummy. I hope that I can be a wonderful ninang to that angel. When the night came, some of my former classmates arrived. So, I served them dinner which were barbecue, chiken inasal, grilled hotdog and pares. We had a lot of catching up about the things that happened in the past years we have not seen each other. We talked about school, interests, and of course, love life. We teased our one friend who has an online lover that they were just fooling together. Hahahaha. In fairness to him, he looked serious about his relationship even though it's hard and complicated. Moving on, after dinner we decided to have drinks and samgyupsal. Then, we continued our conversations and played some drink cards, my friend brought. It was so much fun and messy! Hahahaha. I cannot tell everything that happened but it was super unforgettable even though some of it, I want to forget because of embarrassment. Hahaha. Anyway, we ended before midnight and traveled to our dreams. When I woke up in the morning, I felt my world was spinning but it just took a few minutes then it vanished. I ate my breakfast heartily and I felt like I have that glow because my heart is full of happiness. I texted my friends if they were all safe and breathing. Hahaha. Fortunately, they were all fine and had their hangovers. Thanks to the four bottles of The Bar we had. Hahaha. To end this article of mine, I want to tell everyone that give yourself time to enjoy life. Talk to your friends. Bond with your family. Treat yourself to a delicious meal or have a massage from a spa. Take a break from all the stress and pressure. There is nothing wrong to have fun sometimes, it will make you mentally stable and give you a youthful glow. Author's Note: I am deeply sorry for not writing actively. When we had a midterm interlude in school, I have decided to have a break from my phone and laptop. Well, I cannot say that I did not use it especially the phone because it is now where we communicate. So, let say I just lessen the usage of it. But now, I am back with a peaceful mind and more creativity. Again, I want to apologize and thank everyone who supported me on this platform. I hope you guys are all doing good and feeling happy!

21 Things I Learned Hello, hello! Sorry for not writing these past few days. Exams, projects, and proposals came this month. It was a hell ride for us college students. Anyway, I just turned 21 yesterday and we had a simple celebration with family. I felt so loved and blessed. Therefore, I jotted down the 21 things I learned and realized as I turn 21. 21 THINGS THAT I HAVE REALIZED AND LEARNED AS I TURN 21 1. Do not worry too much! It's okay to commit a mistake. Nobody is perfect. 2. If you are thinking twice about it, JUST DO IT. Stop letting chances go that you will regret later. 3. Appreciate more the little things around you because no matter how small and trivial they are, it brings100 times joy in our life. 4. Follow what your heart wants! Bleach your hair, buy that dress, eat that food, cut your bangs, or whatever you want to do as long as you are happy without hurting people around you. 5. BE OPEN. Do not keep it just to yourself because YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You have family, real friends, and people who loved you. 6. Do not wait for things to get worst. Admit honestly your fault. You do not want to lose someone precious to you. 7. ALWAYS PUT YOURSELF IN THE SHOES OF OTHERS. We all have different struggles in life and we have distinct ways to cope with them. What might be easy for us, might be hard for others? 8. Real friends can understand YOU with whatever decision and action you will take. Do not further explain yourself to the people who only want is to see your bad side. 9. It's okay to CUT TOXIC FRIENDS. You are not a bad person by ending a friendship, what is bad is that you are tormenting your mental health. 10. GIVE TIME TO YOUR PARENTS. Days are just passing by so quickly. So create wonderful memories with them. 11. Accept your flaws and imperfections because that is the only way to be CONFIDENTLY BEAUTIFUL. 12. Save money even if it is a small bill or coins. You will never know, that money can be a LIFESAVER. 13. PROTECT YOUR INNER PEACE. Do not let the stress and pressure overpower your inner peace. Strive to strengthen it because it will affect the people around you. 14. REST. If you felt that you are tired then take a break. You have your own pace in life so do not compare yourself to others. You will never be last in your momentum. 15. Have a social media detox! Twice or once a week do it and you will notice that you are less grumpier and moody. 16. You have no responsibility to make somebody change or be better. It is your responsibility to make yourself better. 17. When having a rough day, allow yourself to feel sad and grief but just for some time then move on, CONTINUE LIVING. 18. There is a huge difference between surviving and living. So, I hope that we all choose LIVING A HAPPY LIFE. 19. Love yourself because no one can give better love than your very own self. 20. Bear in mind that even though your friends are busy pursuing their dreams and goals, they still love and care for you it's just you both have different directions and the only thing you can do is cheer for each other. 21. Lastly, NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS. There is so much more in this world and you deserve the best. I know that I have more lessons that I will discover especially that I will now enter adulthood. But one thing I can say is that I am grateful and proud of all my experiences and learnings. So, I will vow to myself that I will never stop acquiring knowledge and wisdom. I will promise to myself that I will strive for the best. I will also pledge to myself that I will forever cherish my friends and family. Thank you for reading my article! It Changed Me. Good day to all! How's your day so far? Is it good? Or not so good? Anyway, I am here to share my five-minute midterm speech in Purposive Communication that talks about that one experience that left an impact on my life. So, the title of my speech is Believe In You. It is a bit long since it is a five-minute speech so thank you in advance if you finish it all. Hahaha. Believe In You I can't do it. I am not confident. I am not good enough. These were my everyday thoughts that keep running on my mind. I know many youths can relate to this. Well, who doesn't? Even the people that I seek advice to who by the way are older than me have these thoughts. Yes, I can say that it is inescapable. It is a never-ending battle with yourself. However, these negative thoughts brought me to discovering myself deeper that made me who I am today. And it's all thanks to my experience in pageantry. Yes, I did join a pageant and I was a first-timer at that time. I was absolutely afraid and anxious back then. So, why did I even join if I'm scared? Honestly, I rejected my mother thrice when she told me that I should join our barangay pageant. Then, my whole family tried to convince me and tell me motivating words about myself, which I wish were all true. That's right, you heard me, it just proved that I was not confident about myself. That's why when my mother asked me why I do not want to enter the pageant, I told her these exact three words, "Hindi ko kaya". I cannot do it. I cannot bear to be in front of a huge crowd. I cannot bear seeing people scrutinizing me. I cannot bear being embarrassed. And most of all, I cannot bear looking at my family's disappointment if I wouldn't win any awards. All of these worries were set in my mind even if I haven't tried it yet. It felt like it was already carved in me that I was not good enough to give it a go. Then, I stumbled upon this one video on YouTube and its thumbnail got my attention: "Believe in you ". I watched the video. From this, one specific statement hit me hard enough to change my mind — Excuses, fear, and doubt have no place in our life. At that point, I felt that it was a sign for me to take that opportunity and to be out of my comfort zone. And I think that is one of the best decisions I made in my whole existence because guess what? I won the crown. I cannot exactly remember what happened that night because of how fast everything went on. However, I could recall this one moment when everyone was cheering for me, I saw how my mother smiled with her eyes screaming pride and joy. It might sound cheesy but I think that was the real prize for me that night. And because of that, all my doubts vanished. I gained confidence, I trusted myself more, and I realized that I am the only one that can defeat those negative impressions about myself. However, my pageant journey did not stop there. Well, I thought it was the end but no, it was not because I needed to represent our barangay in the biggest pageant in our municipality. This time around, can you guess how I felt about it? To be honest, I was again afraid and pressured but not hesitant to join because it was such an honor to carry the name of your place and I know people were supporting me. See the difference between me before? It was all because I challenged myself from the things I believed I couldn't embrace. Therefore, I felt that I would be fine with another contest. I also assumed that those dark feelings will never come back. I already imagined myself smiling and enjoying the competition. Yet, a surge of familiar feelings enveloped my whole existence during my one-month training. The first and second weeks were fine. But in the third week, it started to kick in. I felt like I was not having progress in all aspects that I needed to improve. To add more to my overthinking, I searched for other girls and I learned how strong and experienced they are. So, an unwanted idea popped into my mind and that was backing out in the competition. I knew I was being a coward. I knew I was being a weakling. And I knew I was going back to square one. But that was not the worst part of it because the training and practice I had became forced. I woke up every day feeling tired even when I slept for about eight hours. It was liked I was locked up in a black hole of negativity and I didn't have any plans to get out. Those were the most stressful and the lowest days of my life. I was on the verge of giving up. However, when I look at people surrounding me who supported me from the start and continuing their best to help me with all their might, I paused and smiled. It was so foolish of me to think that I was fighting alone when many people believed in me. Instead of letting myself be surrounded by clouds of darkness, I let the clouds of happiness reign on me by knowing that I have amazing people behind my back. So, even though I did not win the title, being 2nd runner-up was still so rewarding. No, let's redefine that — being the bearer of the name of our barangay, the fact that there were people who will forever support me whatever the outcome was, and standing on the stage leaving all my insecurities and worries —were the things I can call rewarding. Looking back I couldn't help but be proud of my achievement and growth. If you would ask me if I will do it again? Well, definitely, yes! Because I do not regret any moment of it instead I cherished every second of those memories. I know that there will be more challenging days or unexpected hurdles in the future and if that time comes, I will never run from it. Let's not run from it. As those experiences will surely turn us into an individual who knows and is aware of oneself. It will also make us learn and realize a multitude of lessons that I personally didn't recognize before such as the importance of having good people around you. To end this speech of mine, I would like to share my bottom line: Do not be stressed about things that you cannot control rather focus on things you can control. Hence, focus on believing and loving yourself because these are the important driving forces that you have full control of. And only you, your unique and perfectly flawed self, can do that. The End :))) What do you think about my speech, guys? Is it enough to get some high grades? Hahaha. I am planning to record my video speech on Saturday so wish me luck to finish it early without mistakes. By the way, I wanna ask you guys a question. What is that one experience that changed you? Comment down or write an article about it then tag me because I would love to read it! :)) Thank you!! Lovelots & God bless us all!

How My September Went This month went so fast that I did not notice that it was already October, which is my birth month. So, I am here to share with you guys what happened to my September that made me doubt if it is just two months away before Christmas. First Week of September For the first week, my cousin contacted me and my sister to help with her incoming birthday. She wanted to have a pictorial even though her event is not grand because of the pandemic. She just needs to have a remembrance for her eighteenth birthday. Anyway, I talk about this pre-debut shoot in my article. If you want to read and see the photos we captured then feel free read my article My Cousin's Birthday . https://read.cash/@cherrynwine/my-cousins-birthday-d42d8ab3 Second Week of September For this week, I was busy because of school work and being a handler of our candidate in Search for MMBU CENG which the winner will represent the College of Engineering in the whole University. Are you curious, why I did not join? Well, I want it to be face-to-face, not a virtual pageant. Just kidding! I believe that Bea is more ready than I am. Since I was an officer in our department, I was assigned to assist our candidate in all her needs and update her about the next thing that will happen. Actually, we had a lot of obstacles to go through during this pageant. First, her place which is Masbate was affected by the typhoon that caused her town to have no electricity. Our department was really on the verge of withdrawing her candidacy. However, Bea and us did not give up. She went to their capitol where there is electricity so she can shoot her creative and formal shot plus to dolled her up. It was a 2 hours ride from her place. Then, the signal happened that made our department late for the submission of the advocacy video. In addition, when the question and answer segment was happening her connection was suddenly lost. Luckily, the committees of the pageant were kind to wait and move her to be the last candidate to be questioned. Meanwhile, at that time me and our President were panicking since we cannot do anything to help her. Fortunately, they found a pisonet shop that runs by a generator and has a good connection. One candidate left before Bea's turn when they reached the shop. While Bea answered the question and getting at end of it the electricity came back, it was just like a sign for Him. How we wish it is because of all the things our candidate goes through, she deserves the title. Anyway, we ended being the 2nd runner up and it was still good because for us, mining engineering students, Bea is already a winner. Third Week of September I got my first dose of vaccine in the third week of September. Then, my Tito planned to have a civil wedding so he requested me and my sister to take a picture of them. It was a simple celebration with family and friends. Actually, it was a two-day celebration because the next day after the wedding, it was my Tito's birthday. It was an enjoyable day because our family got together for a long time. **Fourth Week of September** This week was quite hectic for me because of the anniversary of our University and as an officer, I need to do some duty during the event. First, we need to encourage students to participate in every activity and do some checking of the final program. Moreover, I was the host for our two-day webinar that talks about mental health and how to be an effective leader. It was tiring especially you need to be on your cell phone or laptop to review and update everything. Lastly, last Sunday we celebrated my mother's 40th birthday. It was a simple lunch with the whole family. We cooked sweet and spicy seafood, caldereta, menudo, pasta and we ordered chicken wings which are the favorite chicken part of my mother. The cake was actually bought by me and my Tita. A fifty-fifty share because I cannot afford yet to buy it with its price. Anyway, my mother had so much fun with her birthday. I promise to treat her in the future with my full share. Hahahahahaha. ***That's it for the month of September! I had so many ganap that's why I haven't been able to write many articles during that month. I hope that for October, I can be productive here in readcash so I can celebrate my birthday using my own money.*** Thank you, everyone! I hope your September ended fruitfully. If not, do not worry because we can do it this month. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this article. ^•^

Reflection about The Movie "Jose Rizal" One of my subjects in college is Life and Works of Rizal. My professor instructed us, her students to watch the movie that portrayed the life of Rizal. As I watched the movie, it was hard to not have some introspection about the life we have currently. Moreover, after watching it the respect I have for our national hero cannot be described by some mere words or emotions. So, let me share with you guys my thought about the movie. Introduction The movie "Jose Rizal" is a 1998 Filipino biographical film of the Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya and starring Cesar Montano as Jose Rizal. It narrated the journey of Rizal and incorporates his two novels — The Noli Me Tangere and El Filibuterismo. The Story The film portrays Jose Rizal as a Filipino who wanted justice and equality from the Spaniards. At a very young age, Rizal is aware of the discrimination happening to his fellow countrymen, as he, himself, experienced it. As Rizal was given an opportunity by his brother, Paciano, to study in Madrid he took it as a chance to liberate the Philippines. He showed it through his two novels that turned his life upside down. However, the novels he wrote made every Filipinos admire him. It unfolds a new beginning, where Filipinos are conscious about their own country. It also ignited the revolutionary to fight more for their freedom. This leads to a myriad of incidents that resulted in his imprisonment and ended by death. The movie emphasizes the remarkably unforgettable life of Rizal as it revolves solely around his love for his country and people. My Reflection Therefore, I can tell that the film is an outstanding portrayal of Jose Rizal. As it mainly concentrates on significant events such as his education, imprisonment, and his literary skills. Moreover, the transition of his novels to a specific scene is a brilliant idea as it gives an impression of Rizal's own life that was being narrated in his compositions. Additionally, the sufferings of Filipinos at the hands of Spaniards are well characterized that satisfy the uprising of our countrymen and the drive of Rizal to unveil the truth. And most importantly, the patriotism of Rizal is clearly illustrated until the end of the movie. After watching the film, I understood why Jose Rizal is our national hero. Rizal still put an act even he knows his life will be in danger and the fact that he is from a well-off family, he did not think even once to turn away from his nation. He fights using a pen and paper that served as a light for entire Filipinos who are in the darkness to be awakened and to hope for the freedom they deserve. The love he has for his country is immeasurable and he carried it until his last breath. In conclusion, this film showcases the nationalism of Rizal that we, Filipinos, must possess. And as a Filipino, I realize that the independence we have must be honored. That we need to also give our best to fight for our country in our own little ways. Just like Rizal with his pen, we can do it in our modern way without life being at stake. I did not mean to dishonor other heroes, they are all great and I respect all of them. Rizal simply taught that not all fights need to be brutal and rough, it can be peaceful and silent but powerful. Jose Rizal is truly a notable man which will forever be an inspiration to the Filipino youth. Author's Message: I really recommend to you guys to watch the movie even though it is almost 3 hours long, you cannot be bored because every scene is remarkable, inspiring and you will also see our country from a different perspective. I hope that you gain some knowledge about this article as it talks about the history of the Philippines. Anyway, I wish everyone to be safe, healthy, and blessed! Also, for all the Filipino citizens do not forget to register for this incoming 2022 election. Let us not waste the sacrifices of our heroes to our country. We deserve more, our nation deserves more. Thank you for reaching the end! I love you all!

Being a Responsible Digital Citizen Wazzup, everyone! Hahaha. I am not yet moved on to the theme of our spoken poetry in our Purposive Communication subject. Hahahaha. Well, I am here again to share my piece because I am proud of the outcome of my hard work. So, here was the task given by our professor: "With the advent of social media and texting can an entirely new way to communicate. Indeed, communication in the digital age is quite different and interesting. On the theme of becoming a responsible global digital citizen, write spoken poetry that features popular text or viral English terms and expressions commonly used among Millenials of today." So stay woke with it impacts, To avoid being an outcast. Do not be a sus and a simpy That is controlled by the majority. Because many receipts have lay Of squads using it excessively The vibe is shining so brightly To not exploit it irresponsibly. Let's keep our life lowkey, And our solitude high key. Digital wellbeing is a must. To be not a salty tourist So we can feel gucci and giddy In a paradise full of technology So, repeat what I say, I am ready to slay, A responsible digital citizen That can make the universe brighten By spreading the on fleek sloganity No to addiction, yes to responsibility. ***Slang terms:*** DM's - direct message No Cap- seriously Shook - shocking Tea- gossip Bae- girlfriend or boyfriend Flexing- showing Sus- suspicious person Simp or simpy- a try hard to impress someone Stay Woke - Be aware Receipts- evidence Squads- group of people or friends Vibe - the feeling Lowkey - chill or easygoing High Key - intense Salty- upset or exceptionally bitter Gucci - great or excellent Slay- nailed it On fleek - on point My insights As we all know we are in the era of modern technology. Where we can do things conveniently. Where we can communicate easily. That truly helps us in our everyday lives. Therefore, we need to use it smartly and responsibly. Let us not take it for granted to the point that it will affect someone's life and even our own life. Let's start to encourage everyone to be a responsible digital citizen. For a better and peaceful world. Author's Message: As I open my readcash account, I noticed that I am here on this platform for more than one month. And I am so proud of it! My Cousin's Birthday So, here's the reason why I was so busy last week. It was because of my cousin's 18th birthday. We helped her to do her pre-debut photoshoot and designing the venue. PRE-DEBUT SHOOT The mother of my cousin borrowed and rent some gowns. The red gown was rented and I think it costs one thousand pesos. The other outfits were owned by the celebrant and borrowed from some relatives. It was scorching hot that day. I got sunburned from it because we shoot it around 10 am and we ended at 3 in the afternoon. Yes, we took a lot of time because each outfit need to have different look. It was honestly tiring but I had fun. Especially that I was doing it for my cousin to have a memorable birthday. Here are some pictures that we got. Yes, me and my sister captured and edit this photos. CELEBRATION We celebrated her birthday in a resort. Her mother has a friend working there so she has a discount renting the place. We went to the place two hours earlier to make a few decorations and to set the food. I helped with the balloons and setting the table. At exactly 5 pm, our relatives came with their gifts. It was a simple celebration with relatives and friends of the celebrant. The sad part during that day was that it keeps raining so we did not have a chance to swim. I was already in my swimsuit at that time but I changed my clothes because it was so cold. Luckily, Tita Ella the mother of the celebrant reserved three rooms so we had time in the morning to have a dip in the pool. Me and my sibling were so happy because it's been a long time since we went to a resort. We really enjoyed that day even in a short time because we need to check out before 11 am. I was grateful to my cousin even though it was tiring to prepare for her birthday because we finally get out of our homes and had a brief vacation. Anyway, we all had followed the safety protocol and the resort was sanitized before we use it. Thank you for reaching the end of my article. I hope everyone is well. We will soon have our freedom again. Let us just pray and trust Him.

The Sudden Sickness I want to share with you guys the sickness of my father since June 2021. He was here in our house for a 2 weeks vacation. He went home pretty fine without feeling any pain or illness. However, on day 3 of his stay here, he suddenly felt pain in his left foot. We thought that he took a misstep when we jogged that morning. But, the next day it suddenly swells, and then his right foot can also feel pain. One week had passed his feet were all swelled up to the point he cannot walk. So, they brought him to an orthopedic surgeon. They did some lab consultation and tests but the doctor said his overall body chart is normal. The doctor then prescribed him some medicine and limited him to eat nuts, oily foods, and entrails/innards (mga lamang loob). However, in two weeks, the legs of my father were also swelling up. My grandmother and aunties said that maybe he cannot be healed by doctors. That we must try bringing him to some folk healer (albularyo). Therefore, we tried it. At first, my father did not believe in it because he said they were quack doctors. Nonetheless, he did not have a choice since my mother already contacted one. She also said to my father that there was nothing to lose if we tried. In two months, we had two faith healers and two doctors to cure my father. The doctors said he had rheumatoid arthritis then he prescribed him medicines that cost around 150-500 pesos per tablet. The albularyos said that he was being envied by an old man. So, they both performed their rituals and burned incense. The condition of my father become better, there was no swelling but he was still weak. He can walk slowly but still need assistance. It continues until one month without improvement. So my mother was bothered again with it plus my father said that his left hand felt numb. We had another check-up with his doctor when the laboratory results were out he said that his last illness which was tuberculosis was again activated. Luckily, it is not severe, there are small spots in his lungs that can be cured by medicine. Therefore, another set of prescriptions was made and it was so costly. After one week of taking medicine, my father felt soreness again in his legs. We thought at first that it was just a side effect of the pills. So my mother stopped my father because it making his condition worse. However, my father insisted because he was too close to completing the two weeks medication his doctor prescribed. Four months have passed when this sickness resurfaced. Then, last week of this month, my mother brought a faith healer which was recommended by my Lola Jenny and Lola Marites. Monday was the first day when they checked my father's situation. They asked my father some questions and performed "tawas" to him. The faith healer (manggagamot/albularyo) saw a bald man and a little girl with his ritual. He asked my mother if there was near santol tree in our house. He also said that my father was being played. To be honest, it was so creepy and the atmosphere was kinda grim. After that, he interviewed my parents and told them what to do such as food to eat, taking a bath with some leaves, putting his feet up for about 1 hour, jumping every morning, burned incense every 5 pm, and many more. He also said that the only thing that can heal my father is no other than himself. Thursday came and it was the day of offering. The faith healer came again to our house then we enacted some prayer or ritual. He then put marks on our forehead and said some words I cannot comprehend. They also killed one chicken and collected its blood. He showered coins, candies, salt, and holy water (i do not know if it is really holy water) all over our house. And lastly, he burned incense in every corner of our home. Currently, my father looks better than before. We do really hope that he will be back to being strong and healthy. He can now walk outside to get sunlight and take a bath on his own. We truly struggle to that four months especially since my father is our only source of income. In addition, I appreciate my mother more because of her patience and dedication in taking care of my hard-headed father. Hahaha. I am also so grateful to all my relatives for helping us to fight this unknown sickness. The only this that leaves us now is to pray and trust Him. Here are some documentations: Author's Message: Hello, everyone! Sorry for not writing this past few days because I was so busy with school activities and the birthday of my cousin. Evaluation of Personal Success Introduction Have you evaluated your personal success? On a scale of 1 to 10 how successful you are in different aspects of life? I really do not assess my life for now since I am just a normal college student who revolves my whole life in school and home. However, our professor made me do it. And I guess, it helps me to reflect on myself. Our professor let us scale our interactions or communication with the different aspects of life indicated in the picture. First, you need to draw a circle on paper then copy the illustration above. After that mark the number you choose then connect the dots. Actually, I find it hard to rate each of them but I just did it honestly. And here is my evaluation. Evaluation Over the past years, I have experienced many things in life. There were happy, sad, and regretful moments that I encountered. And it made me the person I am today. I am far away from success in communication or any aspect of life. Through the years I get to know myself and realized that I am a secretive but easy-to-read kind of person. I am not that open to my parents because I find it hard or awkward to share my problems and sentiments. And this will eventually lead to fights because of the bottled-up emotions. However, starting last year as we often see each other we slowly understand and adjust to our disparities. When it comes to my siblings, I have learned to be a great listener to all their stories. I become fascinated with their different style of telling what was bothering and challenging to them. In terms of friendship, I can say that I am not a clingy and conversational type of friend but I am there when they need me. For my health, I have been constantly communicating with myself to be consistent in my exercise, vitamins, and food intake. Especially with the pandemic, we must take it seriously to be mentally and physically stable. So, I rated family, friends, and health eight out of ten. On the other hand, I gave six to hobbies, leisure, and growth. My hobbies are reading romance books, exercising, and watching movies or series. I felt that my hobbies are not enough for me and that I need to learn new things. For my leisure, we planned many outings with my family and friends but most of them did not happen. Nevertheless, we had great memories of those unexpected events and I am grateful that we are all safe and healthy. Lastly, the growth, I have numerous things that I need to work on and improve. I need to discover myself further to be able to know myself and to achieve a powerful mindset. I rated my work and money as five out of ten. Since I am not working yet, I just consider it as my performance in school. I am a consistent honor student before so I am confident entering college. I thought that I can pass college without seeking help from my classmates. However, it was not a great idea because you cannot go through college life without having communication with them. So I changed this attitude of mine to form a bond with them. I cannot say that I am close to all but I have few persons that I can talk to about school works. The reason why I rated money five is that during the pandemic I was obsessed with online shopping which I regret. I am now holding myself from buying unnecessary things and I have my piggyback so I can save more than spend. Indeed, communication takes a big part to be successful in different aspects of life. Since we are interacting with different people and ourselves. We need to have good communication skills and a deep understanding of each other because one misunderstanding can ruin and harm not just others but also yourself. Moreover, to be able to attain triumph in life we must first form harmony with everyone because as the quote says, "No man is an Island" means we cannot survive in this world without engaging with others. Author's Message: You can also evaluate your success in life using the circle of success for your next article and I would love to read it. Anyways, thank you for reaching the end of my blog. I appreciate all of you! ! I would like to also send my warmest gratitude to @Mictorrani for renewing his sponsorship. You make me inspired to write more articles. Also for my readers, commenters, and upvoters more BCH to come to all of you! Thank you all!

Being A Student in the Midst of Pandemic A country must be free. A world must revolve. However, our world seems to stop working. Our country appears to be in a cell, trap with our freedom. It all happened in just a blink of an eye. That is how fast, strong, and harmful our enemy is. An enemy that can't be seen by our naked eye and an enemy without a doubt that can end a million of lives. This enemy is known as COVID-19, a virus that spread like a wildfire in every corner of the world and brings distress to every human being. As a student, experiencing this phenomenon gives me and my fellow students unstable mental health. We are pressured and scared of what this virus may bring. It looks like our future depends on the result of how we will cease this pandemic. But, until now it is uncertain if we can entirely put an end to it. The vaccines are ready and it has been distributed but the damage and trauma of it can't be regained easily. The recovery will take a long time that might cause to us students to be stuck. I know that some may say that we have much bigger problems than us overthinking about our future and lives can be. Still, we are just humans and it is part of being a human. As we are now in our second virtual academic school year the things that I noticed is that the students and professors are still adjusting to this not so new normal. I have classmates who didn't enroll this semester since the setup we have is not favorable to him. He lives in a place where the signal is not stable and the pandemic also affected the work of his father. So, he thought that instead of adding to the burden he decided to help his family first. When we heard this we tried to convince him that we will help him just like before. Last year, as a Communication Officers of our Department I had the duty to inform all the students when there were school announcements and if there were students who needed assistance. Since one of the students was my classmate, when we had a new assignment or activities I send him a message to inform him then he will go to their town to get some signal. We did also offer him load assistance so he can keep up with our lessons. However, if I ever put myself in his position, I will also be torn between putting my attention to our home or in school. Therefore, we ended up letting him have a break from school. He just promised us that he will be back when things become better. I was so saddened by this because he was such a model student and a dorm-school kind of guy when we were 1st year college. The turnout of events made me so eager to help others and to take my studies seriously. Moreover, I see now my life differently than it used to be. There are days when we see this pandemic as an opportunity to learn some new things and discover our hidden personalities. Because of the concern we have for not being sure of our future leads us to be somewhat productive and to enjoy the little things. We spend more time with our family, talk to each other often that we barely do. Appreciating the things that we only have because some people don't have the same status as other does. Lastly, this whole pandemic teaches us, students, on how to help each other in our own trivial ways. I strongly believe that with a powerful prayer and unity. We can terminate our enemy and in time, we can freely roam outside and work as we used to. Our world and country can function again as long as we are one. Thank you for reaching the end of my blog. May you all have more BCH to come!

The Everyday Routine I Made for 2021 Are you a person who has an everyday routine? Or a go to flow kind of person? I belong to the first type of person. For this article, I am going to share the routine that I have been following this year. Well, there are some changes since the classes started and it occupied some of my free time. Anyway, let's get started! **Morning Routine** 6 AM Yes, I am a morning person. It is the time where my mind thinks of everything that I will do for that day and it helps me to be fully awake. Then the first thing I do when I get up is to pray. After that, I will browse my messenger to reply to some chats and check the update about COVID-19. I do also visit noise.cash and read.cash to see if there is notification. Sometimes when an idea popped up in my mind I will start writing articles for read.cash then I will finish it when there is free time during that day. Before heading outside of my room, I watered first my plant and let them get there daily sunlight. http://noise.cash http://read.cash 7-8 AM One thing that I promised myself this year is that I will not be lazy to do my workouts. So, I do exercise for about 20 to 30 minutes. I will put the link below of the YouTube exercises that help me to have my body now. After some sweat sesh, I will have my light breakfast to have some energy to face my school classes. Then, I do some fast cleaning of our house. 8-9 AM I prepare myself for the class. I will have my bath which will take for about 20 minutes and another 10 minutes for my skincare with a total of 30 minutes in the bathroom. Hahaha. Then I put a decent clothes on and of course, to look presentable I do put some blush on, lipstick and draw my eyebrows (bcos kilay is life). 9 -11:30 AM This is the time where my class begins. Since I am a college student I have different schedules. Well, from Tuesday to Friday the class started at 9 AM and ends at 11:30 AM except for Monday which became my free time. Here's the two exercise that I follow. https://youtu.be/vt-9sMWqUsc https://youtu.be/E1neQOtI4l8 **Afternoon Routine** 1 - 4 PM After I had my lunch at noon, I am back at my track again. I take down notes from the discussion we had and sometimes I took a nap. Hahahaha. Afternoon class means sleeping class. Just kidding! I am a good student. It is just really hard to stay awake during this period of time. So my weapon for that is to eat while attending our class. I know everyone can relate to or experience this. **Night Routine** 5:30 - 7 PM Yes, I still have classes until 7 pm but it is just for Monday and Friday classes. So for the days that I don't have a 7 pm schedule, I usually cook our dinner. Yes, I know how to cook. Well, google and youtube are there to help me. Hahahaha. Plus, recently I realized that I have a passion for it. Is it a good thing, right? 7-8 PM It is our dinner time! One thing that I treasure especially when we have this pandemic is the importance of eating together with your family. The laughs, talks, and jokes that we shared are the real food that made us full not by our stomachs but our hearts. After dinner, I will have my shower and skincare routine to make me feel refreshed from all the stress of online classes. 8-10 PM The battle between myself begins here. Hahaha. I allocated this period to study. Yes, you read it right. This is the consistent one that I cannot fulfill every year because I promise to myself that I will study in advance every night. Surprisingly, since the classes started I maintained the will to study harder than last year and I hope it continues until I graduate. So the things that I do are some advanced reading for my tomorrow's class, memorization of minerals and rocks, and learning one new mining term. The last two are must need to be a licensed mining engineer (hello, board exam). 10-11 PM After my study time, I will have my bible study for about 30 minutes. Yes, since the pandemic I have been trying to become close to Him. Then the remaining time is I watched random videos on youtube. When I didn't felt sleepy yet I listen to some podcasts especially the podcast of Brother Bo Sanchez and sleep will gradually visit me. I make sure that before midnight I am already asleep. https://open.spotify.com/show/0vrfDq4ll8OgCzOqXoDvuQ?si=w53IaIl-R5iEtO-C_d4NSQ ***THE END OF MY DAY*** ****Note:**** The routines I wrote above is my routine for weekdays. For weekends, I usually follow the same but I have more free time which I use for doing household chores, laundry, writing article for read.cash and of course watching Kdramas. Author's Message: I hope that you didn't get bored of this article. Hahaha. I am just proud that finally, I have been following my routine. I do also hope that I inspired someone to have their routine so we can call a day a productive one. Anyway, thank you for reading! If you want to read more then kindly visit my other articles. Thank you and I hope this month will be fruitful for all of us!

My Parent's Love Story When I was a child even now, I am enthralled whenever I hear love stories of different people that happened in their lives. It somewhat made me believe that there will be someone who is meant for you and a person who will be the one. So, let me tell you the story of my parents. It was kinda fun, dramatic, and romantic. Be ready for the roller coaster happenings of their love story. Before They Met My mother was a beauty before and sorta kind of famous in their school. She was always the muse in class or basketball liga, the leader in majorette, and a contender in pageantry. When she was seventeen, she had a boyfriend named "Pekto", sounds unbelievable? Well, it was his nickname and everyone called him that. Pekto was so in love with my mother. He even planned my mother's eighteen birthday. He bought a chicken which he raised so my mother can have a roasted chicken. He saved money so he can create a little party because he knew that my mother will not bother to celebrate since my mother came from a poor family and she was the eldest daughter with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. However, they broke up even though Pekto was such a nice and loving guy. My grandparents, particularly my grandmother does not want Pekto for my mother because they were both poor. Back then, my mother was so afraid of Mamang (my grandmother) so she just followed her and try to understand her because she knew that Mamang's wanted the best for her. The Meeting Three months had passed since her last relationship. She focused on helping her parents as a working student, she traveled from her hometown to Manila every weekend so she can work in her Auntie's shop. One time when she came home from work she met my father on the road with her friend. My father was mesmerized by her the first time he saw her. During that time, my father was designated by his company to her hometown to survey some lands. Luckily, they had mutual friends so getting to know her was easy. One month of pursuing her by giving her chocolates, flowers, letters, and getting to know each other made my mother answer yes to him. They dated for four months then they accidentally had me. It was unexpected but my father took the responsibility confidently. Since my father has a stable job and my mother was still a student, the parents of my father especially Mamala (my father's mother) disagree with their wedding. She thinks that my mother does not deserve her son. However, they still continue the wedding and fight for their love. Until then, my mother and Mamala were not on good terms. Being Together After the wedding, they live in my mother's hometown which was just two hours from the company where my father works. Then, their first child was born which is me. Occasionally, we visit the home of my father and we stayed there for weeks. And there, I witnessed the mistreatment of my father's family to my mother. I was so little back then so I cannot do anything. Years had passed, my mother gave birth to my two sisters. During the time when I was 10 years old, my mother suddenly packed our things then we went to our Lola Rosy to hide there from our father. I cannot seem to understand what was happening back then. My mother just cried in front of Lola Rosy then I was there looking confused while my two sisters were sobbing too. Hours later my father came and Lolo Kambal talked to him. After that, they went to a room where my mother was resting. After a couple of minutes, my father left the room and he spoke to us if we had eaten our lunch. The night came when our parents decided to go home. It was like nothing just happened. Even until now, I did not have any slight idea of what happened back then. Plus, I willingly do not want to know the reason why my mother cried because I also do not want to hate my father. Currently, after that incident, they had a smooth relationship. This year they had celebrated their 20th anniversary. I believe that they have now a stronger relationship and an ever-lasting love. Note: I heard the story from my mother's best friend about how they met and their past relationship. When I first hear it, I cannot believe what happened between my mother and Pekto. Then Mami (my mother's best friend) told me that life back then was so hard and they were all both young. Anyway, Pekto now also have his own family based on my research. Hahaha. Both him and my mother are happily married. Also, the relationship of my mother with Mamala was now tolerable since she is already old and my mother knows how to fight. Nonetheless, both my grandparents to both sides are all good to us and that is important to our parents. ***Author's Message:*** I had fun sharing with you guys the story of my parents. While writing this I realized how strong my mother is and how responsible my father is. I am sincerely grateful that they are my parents. Okay, enough. I might cry if I continue how thankful I am to them. Nevertheless, I am also thankful to my readers, upvoters, commenters, and sponsors for their support. You guys ignite my fire to write better content. I really really thank you all!

My Top 10 Favorite Kdramas (Part 2) Here is the other five of my favorite kdramas. Enjoy reading! 6. My Love From The Star My love from the star is a fantasy rom-com drama series. It is about a stranded alien on Earth and a famous actress. Things got complicated when he falls in love with her knowing that he has only 3 months left before he returns to his planet. Whenever I hear this drama the first thing that will always come to my mind is the famous line of the lead actress which is "Sarreh". I think every Filipino can relate to it. Hahaha. I must say that this drama captured the hearts of Pinoy that's why GMA did a remake of it. Also, I belong to those Pinoy who love this drama. Honestly, this series became my comfort when I feel down, I just rewatch my favorite scene or episode then I am all smiles again. If you ever didn't see this drama then you miss something precious in your life. That's how great it is! 7. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho Another fantasy drama that tells about the story of a nine-tailed fox or a Gumiho that wants to become a human. However, to transform as a human she needs to fulfill a goal with the help of a college student who has her bead. This drama is a light one that can make your day extra brighter. The main leads are so charming and refreshing. You cannot resist their charm and will make you want to watch the next episode. However, when there are few episodes left, I find it hard to watch the drama because I am not yet ready to let go of the characters. Plus, this drama makes me want to have dimples. Hahahaha. Anyway, if you want a drama that will light up your day then you must try this. 8. It's Okay, That's Love It's okay that's love is a drama series that focuses on mental health. The story circulates between a psychiatrist and a novelist with schizophrenia. When they met each other things started to change in their lives. I particularly like this drama because of the lessons it wanted to convey. If you concentrate on every character you will realize they all have their own demons to fight. The actors here justify the roles they played. There is no waste of a scene and every bit of the lines seems well thought. All I can say is get your tissues ready because it is a heartwarming drama. 9. Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth A historical drama that depicts the life of young men called Hwarang. It shows the journey of these men on how to become a warrior of the Silla Kingdom. Through their training and battles, they also experience the essence of friendship and love. How I wish there is another drama like this because this drama is full of visuals and hotness. Hahaha. But honestly, this is such a binge-worthy kdrama. The brotherhood of the men is so satisfying to watch. It also involves some comedy acts that will surely entertain you. You will not be bored of this drama because I know and I can relate that we tend to be bored if it is historical. Overall, I enjoyed watching this and those Hwarang boys will always have a place in my heart. 10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Book-Joo A romantic comedy drama that talks about the college life of a group of passionate athletes. Wherein through their college journey, they will experience struggles and challenges to be able to attain their dreams and goals. This drama breaks the usual standard of a female lead. I really love how strong she is when it comes to personality and physique. Furthermore, the relationship between the two main leads is so cute and funny. This drama also has its famous line which is "Sweeg" or swag it is like an indication of their friendship. It is a good vibe drama that can erase your worries away even in a short moment so give it a try because I tell you, you will love it. Anyway, because of this drama, I became a shipper of those two main leads in real life. I certainly want them to be together again in a drama and reality. Author's Message: Thank you for reaching the end of my article. As you can read my reviews and insight about this drama you can also know me personally with how I perceive their stories. Also, you will notice that I like light hearted kdramas because I do not want to be stressed with those heavy dramas out there. Hahahaha. I just want my fave dramas to be my energizer and comforter to this depressing world. However, I sometimes watch a heavy drama if I like the characters there, and also it depends on my mood. Nonetheless, I hope that I did give you some ideas about what to watch if you have your free time. In addition, you can also comment your recommended kdrama so I can give it a try. Again, kamsahamnida!

My Top 10 Favorite Kdramas Hello, readers! Are you a kdrama fan? Because I am! I want to share my Top 10 favorite Kdramas so far. This article is all about my preference so please understand if I did not mention your favorite. So here it is. By the way, this is in no particular order. I am going to write the first five. Enjoy reading! 1. Coffee Prince Main Cast: Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun-hye Coffee Prince is a Romantic Comedy drama where the female lead pretends to be a boy to be an employee in a coffee shop that is handled by a handsome boss. However, things got complicated when both of them catch feelings for each other. The first time I watched this drama was when I was an elementary student. If I remember it correctly, I always wait for it on channel 7. It had that cute and happy kind of vibe that time, which I enjoyed so much. Actually, I rewatched all of the episodes this last April. I did that because I need a break from all the heavy dramas that I watched. Again, it didn't let me down, the acting and chemistry are superb! If I am going to recommend a kdrama for starters then Coffee Prince is my answer. 2. Princess Hours Main Cast: Yoon Eun-hye, Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Jeong-hoon and Song Ji-hyo Princess Hours is about the Imperial Family in which the crown prince married an ordinary schoolgirl. It is a modern historical drama but it focuses on how the female lead adapts to her new life and on how the male lead falls in love with his wife. This drama will be forever imprinted in my childhood memory because back then it gave me hope that I can be a princess despite being an ordinary citizen. Well, those were the times when reality doesn't hit me yet. Anyway, I fell in love with Yoon Eun-Hye with this drama. That's why if ever she was the main lead of a drama, I automatically will add it to my watch list. Overall, the production and cast of the drama were perfectly fit for the story it wanted to deliver. 3. Legend of the Blue Sea Main Cast: Lee MinHo and Jun Ji Hyun A fantasy historical tale drama that revolves around the mermaid and her one true love. The mermaid follows her love from the Joseon Dynasty to the modern-day. The male lead which is the mermaid's true love is a con artist so he often gets in danger. Both of them want something from each other so they both live together. However, they have different things they wanted. I watched this drama when it was ongoing. I always cannot wait for the next episode when I finished the recent release. I think me and my classmates at that time were so crazy with this drama. It will be always our topic when lessons end. We will talk about our different theories, what will happen to the next episode, or the possible ending. I believe this shows how great the drama is. There are no boring moments with this drama. No doubt, why they are labeled as the biggest star in Korea. I cannot imagine anyone who can portray those two main characters. The best. Jjang! 4. Dream High Seasons 1 Main Cast: Bae Suzy, Kim SooHyun, Ok-Taecyon, IU, Jang Wonyoung and Ham Eun Jung Dream High is a teen drama where six students go after their dreams to be music stars in Korean Music Industry. This drama emphasizes the different struggles and experiences of the youth in order to achieve their dreams. This is one of the best high school dramas that I have watched so far. It has the vibe of High School Musical which I am a fan of. The songs they used in every scene has a great impact on me as a viewer. Especially, the Love High and Someday which by the way both sung by the cast. When I was at the last minute of the drama, I just find myself smiling even though it reached the end and the screen turns black. It is evident how satisfied I was with the drama. No more questions or comments, it is an amazing drama. 5. It's Okay to Not be Okay Main Cast: Seo Yeji, Kim SooHyun, and Oh Jung Se It's Okay to Not be Okay is a drama that involves healing, traumas, a bit of thriller, and romance. It is a story about a health worker with an autistic brother and a children's book writer. The three of them have these scars from the past that keeps haunting them. This drama was such an emotional roller coaster for me. If you want comedy, melodrama, suspense, romance, or even action drama then this is the answer, a complete package drama. The character's acting, visuals, and outfits are a chef's kiss. In addition, the scripts, cinematography, settings are all great! I incredibly love the lessons of each book that was being interpreted in the drama. If I will rate this drama, no hesitation it is five stars. ****Author's Message****: I really enjoy watching kdrama in my spare time. It takes me to a different world and made me experience numerous emotions. Anyway, did you guys watched the dramas I mentioned? If not, can you recommend some of your favorite dramas? I would love to see them and will surely be added to my watch list. I hope you enjoy this article and please look forward to part 2. Thank you!

The Comparison Between Us We are born in a world where being compared or comparing ourselves is natural. It is inescapable and intractable, it is human nature and we live by it. Some people make this as a basis to move forward, to dream high, and to be better. However, each of us is different, we might perceive it as a motivation but to others, it might be a deterrent. How about you? Have you experienced being compared? Do you have this habit of comparing yourself? Does it have a good impact on you? Or it has given you depressing feelings? If you are not aware of it and if you are in denial of your perceptions. Then, let us talk about it. A Never-Ending Saga Since we were in the stomach of our mother, we have been captive to this culture of comparison. For example, your relatives compare how active the baby kick to their experience. Then you came into the outside world, they measured your height and weight. See, even a baby who does not have any idea what is happening around experienced this culture. I know it is normal. Yes, it is but how about when the baby turns seven or five years old? They already have their feelings and thinking. Hearing words of comparison from others or worst from a family member can leave a scar on a child that can be brought when she grows up. Moreover, when she became a teenager hearing the same words again can lead to different circumstances that we must avoid. In addition, we did not just hear it in our home. The saga will continue in school and work. Based on my experience I have been compared by my smart cousins who are older than me in school. I just ignored it at that time because I love my cousins and my parents did not let me feel that I am not good enough. Since I do not work yet, I will share the experience of my Tita. She works in a hotel as a front desk receptionist and her manager keeps on saying that she must try harder to be presentable in front of the customer, just like her co-worker. As I can see my Tita looks neat and pretty with her uniform it is just her co-worker is more cheerful and stagey. Well, she just accepted it and did some adjustments to prevent another word from her manager. I do also know that those remarks at home, school, or work are just a fraction of the harsh reality of the world because it is — a never-ending saga. In Our Own Timeline We can turn a blind eye or be deaf to others' comments about us. We can proceed in our life by seizing those opinions as an opportunity to prove them wrong. However, the most toxic of all comparisons that are difficult to overcome is the one coming from you. The one appearing from your mind, the one coming from your mouth, and the one reaching your heart. I believe each of us has compared ourselves to others because I am. I am not perfect and I have tons of insecurities. I do also belong to those people who do not want to be left out. Do not judge me. Hahahaha. It takes a lot of mind control to be able to stop comparing myself especially when I saw one of my friends having a new laptop bought with her own money or the other one who went to the beach looking hot. Then, here I am looking unproductive and haggard that made me times more discouraged. I just can say "Sana all" to them with a matching smile but with sad eyes. As I tell my story, I can tell that the major factor that can trigger our comparison is social media. Seeing people travel, working happily, having a complete family, posting school achievements, eating delectable foods, their new stuff, their body goals or even their relationship goals can make us think that what if I do have those, and when do I will experience them? These questions will keep bugging you from time to time. As a result, I do not often use any social media platforms as they can harm our mental health. Instead, I focus on myself and the things I am passionate about such as writing some quality content articles and of course, studying to fulfill my dreams. There is this video I watched where she talks about culture comparison and one word that leaves an impact on me is the word, "Alignment". I think each of us must have this alignment in our life. If we are aligned to our path, we are not bothered by the noise of comparison around us. We will have this mindset where we look ahead to who we want to be and what we want to achieve. Then we walk towards that alignment strongly believing in ourselves that we can attain what we wanted in our own perfect time — our timeline. A Thief We can entertain this comparison in our life in moderation. As we can use this for us to learn and to grow. Moreover, do not forget that those people who you wished to be had to go through difficulties to be where or what they are right now. It is their story and you can also create your own extraordinary story. To end this article, I want to share this quote from Theodore Roosevelt, "*Comparison is the thief of joy".* **Author's Message:** Hello, readers! School is starting to give a lot of works and I am vying for an academic award. But I promise to write twice or once a week. Anyway, thank you for appreciating my work, it means a lot to me. :))

MINING: A prelude to progress or a threat to the environment. ***There will always be two sides of a coin.*** Through the years, the Mining Industry has been helping human endeavors to progress towards the zenith of civilization. Ironically, the blatant benefits, direct or indirect, are merely recognized by most of the people. In fact, mining is indeed a prelude to progress since consumers are evidently exploiting and indulging themselves to the products of mining which primarily improve the quality of life. Moreso, the existence of responsible mining has brought an enormous contribution in terms of employment, mineral production, mineral export, taxes, fees, and royalties. This industry is a significant pedestal of the world's manufacturing industry for resources to build; and economic field for prosperity and energy to fuel growth. However, the other side of a coin— the mining consequences also exist. Clearing large areas of land causing damage or destruction of ecosystems are the initial parts of mining activities. As development is continuously fueled by mining, the agents of this industry find ways to uphold the concept of inter-generational responsibility anchored with harmony on the environment. In connection with this, reinventing mining and practicing responsible mining are ways to mitigate habitat destruction as a threat to biodiversity. These environmentally sensitive areas are considered No-Go Zones for mining which acquire special consideration in mining regulation. Further, strictly complying and applying the concept of sustainable development addresses this issue on the destruction of habitat as part of the mining process by giving importance to the last stage in the life of a mine— rehabilitation. The mine restoration or reclamation of the post-mined landscape to the intended beneficial post-mining land use is an excellent stage of minimizing the adverse environmental effects of mining. Since mining is temporary land use, responsible mining ensures mining lands to be rehabilitated and still remain useful for the community and biodiversity of species. One example is the 1:100 reforestation ratio followed by Mines and Geosciences Bureau. For every tree that is cut down in mining, 100 new trees are planted to replace it. This may be a long-term replenishing of habitat, which means the prelude of progress takes time and still continues towards the future. Biodiversity is an umbrella concept encompassing every living thing— from human to organism. Together, we live in an ecosystem composed of cycles that are responsible for working in balance for replenishing the ecosystem with nutrients necessary to sustain life. Parallel with mining, it exhibits controllable adverse effects but still holds a key role in sustaining wealth creation and improve quality of life. *Always weigh the two sides of a coin. You may never know— either side, a coin is a product of mining.* Author's Message: As a mining student, I discovered the importance of mining industry in our life and I learned the impact it gives. Therefore, I wrote this article not to defend the mining organization but to share my knowledge on what responsible mining can do. I hope you learn something here. Thank you!

The Power of Thoughts What are you thinking right now? What are the thoughts running in your mind? Is it a happy or sad thought? Whatever it is, the important thing is that you can control them. Yes, being in control of your thoughts. It looks like an easy task to make but the truth is, we always have been slaves of our thoughts and that is how powerful it can be. The Inevitable I believe that we have thousands of thoughts every day. Half of it or should I say the majority is negative. I do not want to be a pessimistic person but let's be real. With the ongoing global pandemic, incompetent government, distrustful and judgemental people, and the uncertainties of life, having this kind of thinking is inevitable. I have said all of it not just because of what I have noticed but also of what I have experienced. Last January, the month where we should have a new start, a sudden outburst of emotions enveloped my mind. Fear and panic surrounded my whole existence. The notion of being stuck, not able to move forward, and questioning my purpose come together forming these emotions. That time I let myself be overpowered by those thoughts that made me a gloomy and hopeless person. During that phase, I hardly talk and move my body. I just wanted to sleep all day because I feel so tired even though I didn't do much. It also affected my mood which leads to letting out words I didn't mean and the worst is, my relationship with my friends and family became distant. It lasted for one month and by the slow process of finding myself, I have recovered from it. I cannot deny that those unwanted thoughts didn't visit me again. However, I have learned that my greatest weapon to withstand this thought is none other than myself because it is a battle of me versus my very own self. The Manipulator I have read somewhere that our thoughts shaped our life. Our thoughts can manipulate us. And who we are right now is produced by our thoughts. Yes, the thoughts that we have, build our personality and indicate our growth. I am the proof of it. As I told my story, I realized if those times continued, I will miss many things that life can offer. Nonetheless, the entire experience made me cherish my life more. The people that surround me become my support system. The failure I have encountered has become my inspiration. Lastly, the unwanted thoughts that keep on clouding my mind turned me closer to God. See, I become manipulated by my thoughts but in exchange, a myriad of great things came. The Toxic We are now in a period where we can only think of negativity. Doubting yourself, feeling the world is against you, and degrading your worth, are not just bad thoughts but toxic ones. We all know if we hear the word "toxic", we need to unload it in our life. To obliterate it, I have developed this habit of mine to talk to myself when I am alone. And I always think of these three words — true, value, and wonderful. The three magic words that always brought me back to my senses and this is how it works. *THE THREE MAGIC WORDS* TRUE- I ask myself if all my thoughts are true. It made me rethink my thoughts. VALUE - I ask myself if that's how low my worth is. It made me reevaluate my life and think how far I have come. WONDERFUL- I ask myself to pause and think wonderful thoughts. Remembering my wonderful family, wonderful friends, and wonderful life that awaits me. These words have been a big part of who I am right now. And I am sharing this to help others who are in his or her darkness time. I am no in place to give any advice but I am a survivor that was once experienced the power of thoughts. ***Note:*** Thank you for reading this far, I appreciate your effort. The Pressure of Being the Eldest I grew up with a complete and happy family. However, we are not perfect or ideal, in short, we also have our fights and struggles. And as the eldest daughter, I saw how my family cope with everything from the past up until now, and how we grow together by solving our misunderstandings and shortcomings. As I grew older, I slowly notice the reality. Then a sudden epiphany strikes me. Realizing how important my role is in our home. This is the time where the pressure begins. The Standard As the eldest with two sisters and one brother, I became their friend, playmate, enemy, teacher, and standard. They will try the things that I like. They will copy my actions and words. They will follow my steps in every decision I make. I witnessed it all, even though I know they will deny it. Being together every day and seeing the things we do in the four walls of our home, the character that I have, they unconsciously adopt it. On the other hand, some of them do the contrary of my manners to avoid comparison. But one thing is for sure, the way I treat them will have an impact on their personality. I become the basis of their growth and this gives me a sense of encouragement to be good, to do well. However, at the same time, you can't hide the burden it gives. Because we are not always in our best self, we are not always optimistic, and we are not always ready for challenges. Sometimes, I strived hard to control my emotions that can trigger unwanted feuds. I also tried hard to think maturely and positively. I've done things knowing that I am not by myself that I have sisters and a brother, which is a blessing to have. The Responsibility My mother married early because she had me. She gave up her study and youth by taking care of me. My father has a stable job and he wanted my mother to just stay at home and focus on us. He didn't want his children to grow up without their both parents beside them because he's working in a different place and went home for one week every month. As I see their sacrifices, I have this cloud of worries in me. Even though they didn't say it, I have this responsibility as the eldest. They are getting older and time passes by like a wind that eventually can change everything. Just like now, my father was a very healthy living person but in a snap, he's suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. He suffered from it for two months and with this, we struggle with our finances because of no work, no pay policy in their company. I wanted to help at that time so I tried tutoring kids to earn some money. With that happening, my priorities and goals become clear. I must be strong and wise enough to embark on this long journey. I need to be prepared because I don't want to regret things in the future. The Bigger Person I talked about the big sacrifices of my parents which I am very sorry and grateful for. And now, I am going to tell you about my difficulties. At a very young age, I learned to step back when it comes to food, clothes, or attention. Since my sister and I have only a year gap, I quickly understood these two words —care and share. Then, my little sister and brother came. An addition to our family and it means I am more behind the scene. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents and siblings, I don't have any bitterness with them. However, a big family indicates that I need to be a bigger person. I need to understand that my things are not just my own. I need to have long patience with all their noise, fights, and disorderliness. And most importantly, I need to put them first than myself. I know that I am not perfect in every way, but seeing how I do well until now made me teary-eyed while writing this. I do also know that I lack things and I have still multiple things to learn but I firmly believe, with the support, guidance, and love of my family, I can be this bigger person with a bigger heart. *Conclusion* Being under pressure has its effect on our daily lives. We cannot enjoy the present that we have, and we cannot appreciate the little achievements that we have done. So, I have concluded to not be so hard on myself because the only thing that pressures us the most is ourselves. A Glimpse of Cherish's Life Cherish is an ambitious and rational human being. She is the eldest child among her two sisters and one brother. She can eat anything you serve her. She loves discovering new things. She likes the smell of nature after the rain stops. She hardly can't keep her emotions to herself, she is so transparent. She hates liars and disrespectful people. She sets her goal in life and is determined to accomplish all of it. I am She. I am Cherish. So, here goes a sneak peek about my life. Childhood Life I live in Bicol, but I grew up in Bulacan. I remember whenever I had my birthday, we always celebrated it in school. My parents had this huge box full of styrofoam with spaghetti and fried chicken inside, and another box of zesto and biscuits. This became a tradition since kinder until grade 3. And with this, I always tend to forget the real date of my birthday since we need to celebrate it on weekdays. I often thought that it was 24 but it is 22. Well, those are funny but happy memories because I always received lots of gifts and love from my classmates. Anyway, I missed my childhood friends. I recall the time when we were having "lutu-lutuan", " bahay-bahayan", and many Pinoy games such as "tumbang preso", "piko" at "patintero". However, the most memorable one was when our all mothers were having a laundry day and they do it in the river. Automatically, my friends and I were there to play with the waters and swim until we were all tired. My unforgettable childhood days were all created there yet I am jubilant and gratified by the journey I experienced and will be experiencing in my new home. My parents decided to live in Bicol when I was an incoming grade 6 and the main reason was my grandparents on my father's side. They need someone to be with them and as my father is the eldest and a loving son, he decided to live in Bicol and start a new life spending it with them. School Life Things went well when I was a grade six student, as I slowly adjusted to my new environment. I excelled in academics at that time and graduated as their school valedictorian. As I reached high school, the views I had in my life changed. The first year of high school was the hardest phase for me as a student. I was shocked by how my classmates ran and perceived things differently. And that caused me to be bullied, imagined the whole class was not talking or glancing at you, even the friends that I thought will stand by my side. Fortunately, I passed those horrible months and I cleared the immature misunderstandings they had at me but everything's can't go back to what it used to, and also, I am not the same person anymore. As I continued my high school quest, many great things happened. I encountered wonderful and genuine people that made me forget the bad start and proved that high school is the best part of life. Now, I'm in college taking up BS Mining Engineering. I pursue this course because it's fascinating to discover and learn about the wonders of the Earth. And it just ignited my fascination when I first attended my major subjects. Also, that was the time, I realized that I am on the right path. That's why I'm hoping that I finish this course smoothly and triumphantly even with the ongoing pandemic. Therefore, I can fulfill some of my goals which are to give back to my parents and make them proud. Note: I hope in my journey here I can learn great things and meet great people. I do also hope that you like this article about my life. Nice meeting you all.
