Polkadot(DOT)
Polkadot is a scalable heterogeneous multi chain system. This means that unlike previous single blockchain implementations that focus on different levels of potential application functions, Polkadot itself is designed to provide no inherent functional applications. Polkadot provides a relay chain on which a large number of verifiable and globally dependent dynamic data structures can exist. We call these parallel structured blockchains parallel chains, although they are not required to be one chain.
In other words, Polkadot will be designed as a collection of independent chains (such as Ethereum, Ethereum classic, domaincoin and bitcoin), except for two very important points:
Consolidated security
Cross chain transaction of de trust
These two points are why we call Polkadot scalable. In principle, one problem has been solved completely on Polkadot: it can be expanded outward, and there will be a very large number of parallel chains. Although each parallel chain is managed by different network modes, the system has the ability of scalability.
Polkadot provides an architecture as simple as possible, putting most of the complexity on middleware. This is a deliberate decision, in order to try to reduce the risk of development, so that the necessary software can be developed in a short time, but also have confidence in security and robustness.
Several potential projects in Polkadot Ecology:
1.Kusama
Kusama is Polkadot's test network
In short, any new functions deployed on Polkadot need to be deployed on Kusama, tested, and then migrated to Polkadot.
As a "testing ground", participants can build and deploy parallel chains in Kusama network or test Polkadot's governance, equity pledge and verification functions. On the one hand, the future Polkadot network participants can drill ahead of time; on the other hand, new projects on Polkadot have certain unknown risks, and all projects involving protocol and operating environment will be tested on Kusama network first.
If there is no network like Kusama, there is no way to predict potential risks in the future. The team is studying and developing cutting-edge experimental technologies. It is uncertain how kusuma network will operate and what results will be brought about. However, in order to ensure the ecological security of Polkadot, the emergence and progress of Kusama are very important.
2.StaFi
Stafi is a decentralized protocol based on substrate technology, which can make the mortgaged assets have liquidity. Stafi is also the first decentralized protocol to solve the liquidity problem of mortgage assets.
One of the trade-offs faced by users when considering a pledge of rights (i.e., locking funds in cryptocurrency wallets) is that collateral means they can no longer trade their tokens, so they have to bear huge liquidity costs. Through the stafi protocol, users will be issued a 1:1 bond corresponding to ownership right and stacking income right, and this bond can also be traded in the secondary market, and the whole transaction process will not affect the corresponding token to obtain income by pledge in the original chain.
Therefore, using stafi protocol can not only benefit from stacking, but also benefit from asset liquidity. As Polkadot will open the transfer function, the substrate architecture will be further verified. For stafi based on substrate, it is undoubtedly a very good proof of security. I believe that in the future, stafi can provide better liquidity for mortgage assets of different types, services and purposes.
3.Edgeware
Polkadot itself has no smart contract, so it needs a parallel chain to perform the smart contract function. Edgeware is the first smart contract chain in Polkadot ecology. It also has the scalability and security of Polkadot.
Edgeware is specially built for the experiment of formal governance, and its goal is to create a fair distribution, POS consensus based web assembly smart contract platform.
Edgeware can be simply understood as the first Dao on Polkadot.
4.Crab Network
Darwinian network is a cross chain network based on substrate development, focusing on the construction of future asset Internet and cross chain token trading direction, including non-standard asset auction market, stable currency cross chain, asset transaction exchange and other fields.
Crab network is not only a test network, but also a long-term running network. The network mainly provides simulation and test environment for the upgrade and application deployment of Darwin IA, and carries out various new project experiments with uncertainty risks.
The test environment is very wide, including not only the software running environment and network environment, but also the economic environment of testing economic game.
5.Acala
It can be said that it is the leader of Polkadot ecology. Although it has not yet issued coins, the test network is ready for use. Interested readers can experience it.
According to Polkadot, what ACALA basically does is makerdao + compound + uniswap + SNx. In one system, it makes all kinds of stable coins, loans, DEX and derivatives
Of course, it is said that the valuation is also very high after the issue of coins. If we really do everything, it is worth that valuation.
In addition to its own technology and architecture, ecology is the core element of whether it can dominate the circle. Such a weak TPS of Ethereum still dominates for several years, relying on a large number of developers and a huge ecosystem.
You may think Polkadot is overheated and the price is too high. However, there are two big profits waiting for us: coinbase and parallel chain auction.
Gavin looks to the future, and Polkadot aims to support up to three layers of parallel chains, which will enable an incredible amount of verifiable, interoperable trading capabilities. We are very lucky to witness the growth of Polkadot step by step, and we are also following up the progress of Polkadot ecological project. We believe that in the near future, we will witness a more mature and stronger Polkadot ecology, and Polkadot ecology will surely gather more outstanding projects.
Nice writing Thank you
